If that punch loops you get knocked out. Point is blocks like that don't work on the street or MMA. There just isn't enough time to see a punch coming and the angle it is coming from and then block/parry it.
@@RenegadeShepTheSpacer I've studied Karate, Muay Thai and Boxing. I can tell you from experience that blocking isn't as good as Krav Maga's method of redirecting the punch. When you block, you have to absorb some of the force from the blow, or you muck it up. The technique shown in this video is much safer and useable by all.
Easy said than done defending a straight punch is not as straightforward. It requires good reaction, precision and timing to block an opponent punch while at the same time delivering your own counter attack.
In other words, it requires a LOT of real fighting to really learn to defend against attacks and attack successfully to KO an opponent. Practice and master basic muaythai and boxing techniques on a heavy bag and everyday go spar an opponent in full contact or the best thing to do is fight in KO rules everyday. After you are a good stand up fighter, THEN you will be able to use kravmaga in a real fight. If you dont fight for real, you will NEVER learn to fight for REAL.
Angelo Quimoyog I completely agree. The first aspect of the counter was excellent. From my point of you, the best course of Action is to react to whatever comes next of the opponent. As soon as he Parries and strikes, he should then react.
Alex Younger combat training comes in several forms, 1. Combat Sports, 2. Real-Life Self Defense. WCK, Like Krav Maga is a self defense system and not a combat sport.
Hands up defense good got it. What if the guy faints the rt and steps to your left as youre redirected and reaching and then fires that rt agian? Should you duck and change the angle and force him to reset his hips?
+Nick Chavez No, the defender will already be moving inside the range of the punch, making any further attacks ineffective. Successive combatives would take care of the rest. Quick and dirty.
+Gun Whales Not having a broad open stance. In Jeet Kune Do your legs are already facing inward(about 45 degrees). Either block it by bringing in your knee or you don't even have to because of the small opening the stance allows. You can also train to intercept the kick with a kick of your own as in jkd, you attack with the lead leg which is quicker then a kick with the back leg. Also the best defense against a groin kick is to kick your opponent in the groin first. People who have a broad open stance are easy targets and their kicks are very telegraphic.
What if he throws a straight just to make you flinch to set you up for the hook? Or lord forbid you miss time lol cool vid though I want to take Krav Maga
To me it seems that Krav Maga is just fighting, fast, dirty (opinion not mine),being ruthless. All of which I can do already.Krav Maga is JUST good fighting skills and be badass with it!.
+Dean Halliday No it's not, it's a defense mechanism for people who are not violant and wanne protect themself from people who wanne be "badass"... Please never go practice Krav Maga, it would be a shame for the system...

Absolute nonsense. You learn to adapt and improvise. You've clearly never studied the art.

Cool, that's they taught us in my KM class. Great vids, thanks
hahahah he's so good at falling :D
Wow This is so badass and it may save my life someday.
good actors
7 years late to make this work you have to have practice over 1000 times under different scenario. Just knowing it won't work.
Simple but effective.
Thanks a lot for this techinque.... You're the best...!!!

Watch till the end!! Awesome!!!
Amazing! U guys are awsome
great technique but most common attack in streetfight is overhand or sucker punch
Basically a basic boxing party then go ham on the dude
This technique is quite similar to wing chun pak sao. Nice video, thank you.
+metalgabri That's what it's based on! :) Krav uses effective aspects of Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, and a number of other systems.
his elbow would be close to his body and he would be using his whole body if it was wing chun
Wing Chun is bullshit. It's why you don't see anyone in the UFC using it.

Can you do a video showing how to defend a kick to the groin?
Oh the irony..

Very important to know.
Liking these videos.

Good man this means no mercy
wait, so key to defending strikes is to not let them hit you?

+Kevin Fox it has already a bad name they dont compete in mma.
@@markracadio5207 That’s because the rules don’t allow it, Krav is not a combat sport and does not compete, it’s a self-defence system. Moron.
This bullshit can get someone really hurt
Holy shit. He looks like Rick Grimes
ehh why yours partner is always flying ? 😀
Lmao, great stuff morpheus. But agent smith is quicker than that.
thats was a crack up..😄😄😄😄😄😄😄.start n finsh...
Lmao at that last part
Why the guy is going so limp
Because if it were real he'd probably be knocked out lol
Also what was that about "hold the bag" then uses bag to deck the poor guy,Bully much do ya? .
straight cross is the most common in the street? Hahaha when did you EVER see it ? In the gym ? with big padded gloves?
it only works if your attacker has an absolutely shit technique.
So is this guy serious or making fun of martial arts?
Krav Maga isn't a martial art
check out unyted krav maga
Not effective if u dont have good reflexes
so dangerous and effective that it is not used in MMA competition....pfffft
the bigger guy wins
hahaha
Redirect. Ha! Bullshit
But you are a head longer than your opponent!!
