@Zahir Eduardo i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I was just look for something like that for a photoshoot. Thanks for sharing. Nowi will create some for my own. Love your pearl tulle. it looks amazing.
Ahhh thank you so much, I decided to make my christmas dress out of a crop top I already had, but didn’t know where to start with the skirt! This was such a big help 💕
This is the only tutorial I can find with a split that actually goes a good job explaining, and turns out exactly how I’m looking to make one! Great job. I have one question, did you layer your tulle at all or was it single layer with the gathers
Love that skirt! It's magical! I have a question about which sewing setting to use, I know you said zigzag, however when I tried that I couldn't then pull the thread to adjust the fabric, it was strongly sewed and remained one flat straight waistline. Can you explain more about the dental floss trick? what do you mean you didn't sew the thread on it? so how did it stay on the fabric so you could pull it? I'd love to understand :)
Aww thank you for your sweet words. So to answer your the dental floss is what you pull through the zigzag stitch so you want the floss to go in-between the zigzag and not sewn down to the fabric. If the floss doesn’t work, you can also just do a very lose stitch- so the widest straight stitch setting on your machine and then pull the bottom thread. I hope that makes sense!
I know this video is old but I just found it. I love this skirt! I want to make it. Found a similar fabric in black, which is fine....... but I wish I could find this stunning tulle that you used!
Hi Kelsey, thank you for watching. Yea this video is old. If you’re in Toronto, Canada. I can let you know where you could possibly find it. Good luck making the skirt ☺️💕
Phoebe Wang Hi, don’t sew over the dental floss or you won’t be able to gather it. Use a zigzag stitch and place the floss in between that stitch only on the tulle! Hope that makes sense. 😊
This is so pretty!!!! So I want to do a gathered tulle on top of a regular skirt. Which in my case is literally just 2 pieces of fabric sewed on each side. How would you suggest me to attach the tulle so that the bottom and top edges are clean and neat??
Jasmine Hey thank you so much and so to hold everything in place and to make sure it’s neat I’d stitch the tulle skirt and regular skirt together at the top first and then attach a waistband from the fabric you’re using to make the regular skirt. Hope that answers your question.
@@tahjaycouture oh thank you so much!!! Would it also be possible to stitch everything at the top, and then fold it inside a cm or 2, and fit a tiny elastic band inside?? Because I don't actually have enough fabric for the skirt. I'm using a dress which reached my knees , and then I have to cut it into, to make a top and skirt hahahah
Hi, sorry there isn’t a zipper video for this skirt, I’d be happy to film one if your interested in seeing how to add a zipper. In the meantime there’s tons of zipper tutorials on UA-cam. Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
Hi, it depends if you want the skirt to have gathers then yes it would need that much material. If not you can make it with less material using a fabric that has stretch if you don’t want add the zipper.
Hey, you need to insert a zipper in order to get in and out of the skirt. Then once the zippers in you sew the rest of the back skirt together. Hope that helps!
Kenyetta Reid Hey, I didn’t get a lot of responses back to do the zipper tutorial but there are plenty on UA-cam. Since people are now asking, I’ll film one soon so look out for that in the near future. Thanks for watching ☺️
Hi it technically will have two openings but it’s one split, and the other opening should be at the back for the zipper which I wasn’t able to film. Please let me know if that makes sense
If you’re located in Toronto, Canada I got it from a store called jagjit textiles! Hopefully you can still find it because I purchased it a while back!
Tiffany Bowyer The ribbon I purchase was already folded and I sewed at 1/2 inch from the edge of both the ribbon and skirt. You can also just buy a satin material and use that as a waist band instead.
Oh no, sorry that’s it’s not clear. What don’t you understand? It’s just two rectangles, use your waist to floor measurement and depending on your size and the fullness you desire you can determine how much gather you want around the waist. I have 5 yards total. I cut 3 yards for one side and 2yards for the other side and then the skirt is overlapping by 6inches. I hope that makes sense!
Hi sorry for the late reply, just overlap the fabric a few inches I think I used 5inches or whatever you are comfortable with, and that will give you the opening for the split.
You should be super proud of this! It is beautiful, and really helped me!
Laura Culver thank you! So happy it was helpful. ☺️

@@tahjaycouture I’m literally making it now, and will spend the rest of the week adding feathers and beads lol. Wish me luck!
I’d love to see how it turns out and good luck 🤞🏾 💕
Okay, thanks for the gathering tip, I'm making my own from scratch ❤
You are so talented! Do you think I could do this with an elastic waist instead of a ribbon and zipper?
Erin Mae thank you! 💕 of course you can!
You could probably us the ribbon as a casing for the elastic!
@@courtneyknipping9137 So smart!! Ty
How would you make this for a plus sized individual? Its so perfect for a custume im planning!
O wow that is so pretty.thank u.i plan on making this a weekend project

I’m so happy I could help! 💕 I just used one single layer because I wanted it to be sheer!
@@tahjaycouture Love the sheer look! It was a great choice.

Yes, it's beautiful would like to make one.
Thank you, and you should! 💕
Amazing job!!! Do you think I can achieve this look with a jersey knit fabric?
tineisha E thank you love and yes I’m sure it would work the same. Any lightweight fabric should give you the same look!
It's soooooo pretty!
Vegasgurl#1 thank you! ☺️
hello question: did you sew using the dental floss? or did you put the dental floss between the two fabrics and sewed over it? thank you!

Please do the zipper tutorial on this skirt!?! 🙏
I'm making simple skirt for the 4th of July. Don't really want a zipper and would i need that much material
Hi, it depends if you want the skirt to have gathers then yes it would need that much material. If not you can make it with less material using a fabric that has stretch if you don’t want add the zipper.
Did you sew the back piece of the skirt together? I’m trying to follow along but I just have tulle sewed to ribbon now
Hey, you need to insert a zipper in order to get in and out of the skirt. Then once the zippers in you sew the rest of the back skirt together. Hope that helps!
Omg I'm so in love! Thank you for sharing!
Happy you liked it, thanks for watching! 💕
The material is gorgeous
I agree it’s beautiful, thank you! ☺️
Love this! So talented!
Melody Santana thanks love! 💕
I really wish I had the physique to wear that skirt without an under skirt ... so talented ... maybe I could do this but have a small slip?
Hey, of course you can add a lining or slip underneath and thank you! You also don’t have to use a sheer fabric!
That’s super cool, gonna follow you for more.
Thank you for the support! 💕
Hi if I want to make many layer’s can I use the same matode like this ?
Hi, yes you can! Just baste it all together before you gather and sew the waist band, Hope that helps!
I am fall in love with him spooky my boyfriend. Can you make a red Tull too.
Was there a zipper vid or am i missing it lol … love this!
Aww thanks for watching so glad that you loved it. I never got that many responses for the zipper tutorial but I can film one if you’re interested. 🤗

Fashionlovie Richardson good question, I inserted a zipper in the back. I can do a zipper tutorial if you’re interested ☺️

Hello… what is the name of the fabric?
Hey, it’s beaded tulle!
Are you stitching just the end piece of the ribbon to it and then it folds over when you tie it or do you iron it?
