I went seizure free for almost 2 years after steroids antibiotics and IVIG. Meds didn’t work that well anti-epileptics. Now still free of the intracranial pressure dizziness headaches I suffered daily. Now to look into my chiari causing these seizures or what…..?

Why would any child need six or more IVIG treatments? One should do it because the flares eb and flow. I am not convinced that these children would not have gotten better on their own after a flare.

it's crucial to understand that PANDAS is a complex condition, and each child's response to treatment can vary. IVIG therapy, which introduces healthy antibodies into the body, is used to manage the immune response and reduce inflammation. Some children might respond well to a single treatment, while others may require more to achieve the desired effect.
PANDAS is a relapsing-remitting disorder, meaning symptoms can fluctuate over time. During periods of increased symptoms, additional IVIG treatments may be necessary to manage the condition effectively.
While it's possible for some children to see symptom improvement over time without treatment, the goal is to actively manage and reduce symptoms to improve the child's quality of life. It's not just about waiting for potential self-improvement, but about proactive care based on each child's unique needs.
