Words cannot express the joy I feel when I listen to these "Masters of Vocal Harmony". My mother (passed away) was a part of a group (The Staple Sisters-1940's) whose vocal harmonies were exactly like that of The New York Voices!
One of top version of one of all-time top tunes. Amazing voices arrangement, great solo by Paquito d'Rivera who success to deliver an original solo without emulating Getz's...
Hey New York Voices, this is a voice crying out in the wilderness from Mumbai India. Absolutely sublime stuff. For Christ's sake stay together and may tons of Good Health be yours always. God Bless. Clarence
A beautiful performance, and lovely harmonies on an already complex melody by Jobim. Sweet texture on the sax too. I think it is only due to my familiarity with the tune (I also play it) that I was able to follow the variations, and even then, had to work at some of them.
Carl, -- Maybe, is some respects. But the Manhattan Transfer's a capella arrangement of "The Nightingale Sang in Barkley Square" is still one of my favorites.

Any connection to The Staple Singers? Was it the same group but they changed their name?
Unbelievable! They can do all that with just four voices.
It cannot get better! Awesome performance. Top notch musicians and singers. I thank God for the gift of music and superb voices.
One more piece of art of Antonio Carlos Brasileiro Jobim! Tom great performance and vocal arrangement by the New York Voices!
This is just sublime! You handle those tight harmonies with aplomb! Marvellous!
And the CDs are still stellar...Sing! Sing! Sing! etc. what a great synergy in voice.

It's not Paquito--Darmon Meader on tenor.

Fantástico! E como brasileiro fico mais orgulhoso de ver no repertório destas feras, uma música do grande Tom Jobin!
