Alex Weber - Larry Grenadier Bass Solo on Solar

Some of you might've seen my post a little while ago about needing to change my upright strings and a little over a week ago I finally did. Instead of going back to the tried and true Spiros, I decided to try out the new Pirastro Perpetuals that a lot of people have been talking about. I LOVE them on this bass! The tension is perfect and they project incredibly well without being that zingy, even right out of the package. I may experiment around a little bit and put on a Spiro E and/or an Oliv G but I'd be totally content with these strings as full set too.
To showcase these strings I decided to re-record a bass solo by one of my all-time heroes, Larry Grenadier. I had made a previous video for this WAY back in college which was also coincidentally the very first video I ever uploaded to UA-cam! I had since taken it down because the overall quality wasn't good and I felt like I could've done better. This is an INCREDIBLY important solo to me in that it's probably the one that's had the biggest impact on shaping the way that I personally like to solo. If I had to pick only one favorite bass solo this just might be it!
