My father is a retired State Farm agent. He has said the one thing you should NEVER, EVER do is install that tracker. They will track EVERYTHING and your rates will actually go up, not down. You are tracked on how many left turns you make, how fast you accelerate, if you EVER go above the posted speed limit. Those trackers are one of the worst things you can ever put in your vehicle. Buy an independent tracker or just get the Apple tracker (no matter what Apple says).
Sure, no one wants a tracker spying on every driving mistake you make which can work against you in a vehicle accident, but can you propose an alternative way to save money on vehicle insurance.
Shop around and drive safely. As I said in my statement, you're NOT going to save with that tracker. It's a lie that rates go down with that thing. Just NOT having it will keep your rates down.@@amuthanshan
@@amuthanshan Age yourself, literally, get older. Drive an older vehicle. Drive a cheaper vehicle. (I had a Cadillac and instantly paid 50% less for the Toyota Camry the newer car I replaced it with.) No accidents. No claims. West Bend Mutual who I use, gives 5% back in a check each year for no claims. That's added up to a lot in like 12 years with them. Call every agent in your town until you've got the lowest offer for the coverages you want. Keep your deductibles as high as you can possibly afford if something happens, so your premiums are lowest possible. Until something happens, it's a 100% loss of income that you're paying to the insurance company. Don't live in a high crime area. Don't live in a populated area. DO NOT tell them you drive for anything other than personal use or to commute TO work.
The maintenance book is wise. I use a spread sheet at home and on the go sync the info with the note pad on the smart phone. Save you a lot of time and money when you need to know the details on where you stand with your vehicle's maintenance.
Tory, Warrior Princess! You go girl... Everything you said, ah or maybe.. I'm thinking, 'I'd paint the whole floor, sides and roof with an anti rust! "presto, you did it!" Also, I had to steal your idea of creating the book coverdesign per a person's lifestyle, RV life etc! If I wasn't an artist / craftperson, I'd have bought one from you! 😘 For such a 'potentially boring video, you made it terrific!' I didn't want it to end! I am super excited to watch your next adventure.... 🧡 Totally Inspired 🪷 🌱 🦋 🌈 🙏 PS Yeah, NO PINK! I have a Santa Fe coloured home, my bedroom is musky pink. I absolutely loved it for 15 years... Now, I need a change. I know it's really in to use natural woods, green/turquoise and rattan. However, I would make the most out of natural wood colouring, as it helps add warmth. I'd also choose a deep cream dry brush affect 1. To hide the dirt. 2. To lighten up say, the ceiling. 3. OK, OK, I mentioned the most common colours but there is a reason! Green turquoise (15% sheen for easy cleaning) matches, nature, and most products that can be bought specifically for RV life! (Or, I'd use yellow. My lounge room is yellow, and I still love it to bits! ) If you want to use rattan, use it only as an accent eg. Between bedroom and living space. It let's heaps of dust in, so if used for cupboards you'd have to wrap them around perspex, behind a frame for your cupboards.... Anyway, Tory, I'm sorry to ramble! Take it positive respect. Your video got me totally engrossed! Till next Vid... Best of luck 🤞
Your videos are amazing, funny and full of energy.keep laughing with you.its not about the van or the process of building the van its how you live your life to the fullest.keep laughing because your laughter it’s contagious.thank you for sharing your joy..
Love the braids, fraulein! A totally different look and it makes you appear more confident and strong. The sword? A full Medieval Times theme? Would be great. You should audition for the next Wonder Woman production. Or Xena the warrior princess. Classically trained actors need to master sword play.
Use bungees on the roof of the cab to store the front window covers. I just slide the window covers under the bungees, they stay in place and I don't notice them when I'm driving. Also, much easier than a net.
I also insulated my wheat poles. I didn’t know that I wanted to insulate everything that being said, should you insulate in back where the tail lights are?
xena warrior Princess coming out there (and dare i say look-a-like) I'm enjoying watching your channel and will continue to, its been 7 years since i sold my van and coming here and watching your progress through the builds has inspired me to buy another van in 2025 and start another journey, All the best Paul Manchester England
UA-camr and phenomenal photographer Christian Schaffer had the most luxurious van build, but when it had a basic plumbing leak, the whole wood flooring got destroyed and she had to get the whole build torn down and rebuilt from scratch, focussing more on rustproofing, waterproofing etc this time. When planning a van build, we don't talk enough about long-term reliability and making sure the build is easy to repair and maintain if something were to go wrong.
The seam joint (door opening WINDOW) where you sealed up the seam. Because there are vent holes (in the middle of that seam) - you could also consider squeezing some seam sealer in the vent holes (so you have solid fill from both sides of the seam.
Beautiful honey. You need a screedriver or a pair of plyers to pull plastic clips pit. I love how you got started on your ban conversion. I am sure its aot of work ahead of yy. Love you. ❤❤❤❤
I would recommend getting some way to secure your maintenance book like a safe or something. You have/will have a lot of personal info in there and you don't want those pesky thieves to get their hands on all that.
Stumbled on to this video, I look forward to watching you build your van. I used to work on the European version of this van & you may already know this or it may not be relevant to the US but if you have a spare under the van check the carrier operates correctly they had a tendency to seize up & you have to break them & replace them. Check the wiring in the rear doors they had two issues the loom would rub through causing a short or some would get water in causing a short and need a modified fix.check the plugs on all your lights for any corrosion. I hope this helps. Also nice sword.
10 points for Tory for using a mask while air spraying, a lot of people will skip the mask and regret it later, much later One thing to note Tory: the eyes absorb some of the VOCs in the air, it is recommended to go for a full face mask
Those panels have plastic rivets. Just take a nail and stick it in the hole of the clip and push the rivet out the back side. Then the panel come off easy peasy. And you can reuse them if needed because they do not get destroyed removing them the hard way.
You are so beautiful!😍 not just physically but personality wise. I wish you all the best of luck in building your van. I will start searching soon for a van and hopefully do the same.
I think the things I don't see a lot of people talk about, at least in my research, are the weep holes and maintenance work that should be done (after you buy any car not just a van), plus I install an OBD port for security etc etc. I feel like a lot of videos just jump right into the fun stuff (BUT I am starting the fun stuff tomorrow if the weather cooperates!)
OK I already like this video and validates me with my 2019 ram because it was leaking in the same damn spot and my friend was like it’s probably because you were walking on the roof when you put the solar panels on I’m like I don’t think so thank you for this video. I’m going to show it to one.😊😊
I love your research! I dig your DIY brain and love your silly but serious personality. I am glad you are sealing up your chassis before the build. I am doing a sprinter build and did the trim seal. Not many know this shit. where did you learn this?
You might want a kneeling pad when your knees are on the hard surface. It probably does not seem important now and I am more than guilty of kneeling on the hard ground many times, but I did injure my knee this summer doing just that.
instead of a GPS tracker just put in a immobilizer… The criminal will start the van they will steal it and then woe all of a sudden the vans shuts off because the gas supply was cut… Then they get scared and run away… You still have a van. Oh and hello nice to meet you. I've never seen you before you seem nice

I've been following your videos for a while and just finished my own subfloor! Can't wait to build along with you 🥰🥹 Btw- I thought just the primer was good for the rust prevention, but a couple people told me it's a good idea to finish it with the rustoleum auto enamel, which is also cheap! I think I used +1 can compared to the primer
I like that you use a mic to talk. Saves my ears from getting blasted from turning up the volume to hear you, then when you voice over.....
Good to know! I shall try to do it more often! Thanks!

You could always put a sign on the outside of the van "Tory's Flowers"; no one will break in to steal a begonia. ;)
