I am British and this is a totally new style of riding to me, and I've ridden for 55 years, English style. But, I've become a huge fan of Saddleseat! It's so elegant and beautiful looking. 😍

Saddlebreds have greatly great breaks. In this specifically they we’re doing stops to change the pattern (it’s a part of the equitation) the horse was probably really excited but I would say it was mainly the breaks

@@evanarnold9771 it's not a saddlebred horse, saddle seat riding is just the style, it can be used with almost any breed of horse, Morgan's are the typical go to choice for this this style tho, with that being said the Morgan horse is quite temperamental and hot. Three decades of going to these shows I have yet to see an American saddlebred, the other I've seen used is the Tennessee walking horse, yes these are typically used with what's called the big lick but I've mostly seen them used in saddle seat.

@@royalwolfimports355 it actually is, saddleseat is a discipline based originally off the saddlebred. Of course now you see breeds like Morgan’s, Arabians, Dutch harness horses, and fresians in the saddleseat world but it’s started with saddlebreds and is still dominated my saddlebreds to this day. The worlds championship horse show is actually almost all saddlebreds and hackneys. The barn you ride at or are associated with might to saddleseat with Morgan’s and go to Morgan shows but saddlebreds are more common in the discipline :)

Just found out about this discipline. Does anybody bother to tell me some details it? I know dressage, but this seems different. What's the main goal? And by the way: Why are her feet so far away from the horse and her ankles that much angled? Never seen anything like this before, but I'm from Germany so maybe that's why.

Saddle seat is and English riding style. Saddle seat you use a flat saddle. You hold with you inner thigh more than any other part. Posting is up and down like a string tied to your head, not like hunt seat. Toe should be under the knee. Soft hands/seat. This is an Equitaion class. You can tell bc her suit is all one color. Also she is doing a pattern, much like dressage,

A good Saddle Seat horse would never bethis spooky. I trained my mare who came as a spooky horse since she was nine and had never been ridden. She only had western quiet cowboy training put into her. The first few years of training she was incredibly spooky. A mare going on 16 this year is one of the least spooky horses that Ive met now. With proper training they can have a great, level headed mind. Love my morgan saddle seat mares. My moms has the most safest brain- Baby, a five year old with mostly driving experience and myself backing her a few times (my moms first ride in a long time was today- she said her girl was AWESOME!!). Some of the training isnt fine since its from the past. People need to listen to real saddle seat riders inform you of the recent ways to train.
