It needs more sbg stickers like
God shave the queen lol 😎😎
That’s a pretty good one!!
😂😂😂
The D90 body detail is a lot of upgradations.
I like the color, too.
I really want to buy it ;-D
Really looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. This D90 is definitely on my wish list.
love the effort you put into this
I am very impressed with these new bodies! They're a huge step up from the old ones; class 0 out of the box. The fit and finish on them are perfect.
Congratulations on your Gelannnnde!
The D90 pick up looks amazing. Seriously considering getting one as my first land rover.
that land rover is awesome. can't wait to see what you do with it. I would also like to see more on the willys jeep behind you, thanks.
Yes more on that Jeep
Love revisiting 'older' videos especially as i have just bought one of these, to replace my old Team Raffee/Boom Racing D90 which has given up the ghost
Excellent rig ☺️👍
Good to hear you tell RC4WD your true feelings, @ the moment im ready to find the HQ and riot
Intros have me cracking up! Good stuff Matt... When Nature Calls is what i see when viewing this rig lol... 💪🏾💯🚀🔥
Thanks for watching my man! What's your first scale truck going to be?
Scale Builder's Guild remember my first was an scx10.2, not sure what the next one will be!
So exited haven't had a trail rig in 2 years or any rc I've wanted a gelande 2 since it came out. Just ordered it shipped and tax I paid 470usd I think that's an amazing price for what you get with this. Can't wait for it to get here. Hoping to see some more videos of it whole I wait as not many with this body available on UA-cam. My favorite body btw I've been waiting for a pickup body.
Your outfit choice is hilarious 🤟🏽
Really like this defender!! Maybe my 2nd rc4wd rig. Loving my Marlin right now.
looking forward to seeing this rig weathered, already looks good with the one wife livid decal tho!!!
Awesome Video 💪🏼
I have always loved the Defender...!! 😎👍✅
Nice review thanks. The RC4WD Twister high torque servo is a 20Kg .cm or 277 Oz.in servo.
So close to ordering this
Dang RC4WD really pulled out all the stops for the scale details on that body. Coming into this video I was not too interested, but once you showcased all those scale details that were right out of the box I was impressed. Almost made me want to get one.
Really nice Landie! On my list after the FJ40 Cruiser!
Great review!
I *almost* bought a D90 as my first real vehicle here in the States. Hindsight being what it is; I messed up that opportunity! (Love your videos!)
I got the fj40 basic model. Mustard yellow and I love it! Awesome rig. The servo is decent and the 45T is good but I got a 55T tekin going in it soon.
Hi Matt "Feingenleilter" !?? LoL 😂 -This is by far your most entertaining RC insight. Very much appreciated ! -Paul
Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. I’ve been eyeballing it in reviews and it just begs to be weathered.
It looks really good
I’m not a rabid Defender fan but that body & scale details are awesome. Wish they sold a version with light kit & upgraded wheels/tires but minus the electronics/battery; most of us have a transmitter & favorite electronics already.
Totally agree with you on a light kit, rc4wd basic light kits are pretty good and cheap 13-15 bucks for the ones I have, wish they would throw them in!!
Proper videofilm Sir, exquisite, musn't grumble with this marvellous Defender so, I won't!
Kuddos to them on including both style mirrors.
Twister servo specs:
Speed: 0.16sec/60°(@6.0V)
Torque: 277.6oz·in / 20kg·cm(@6.0V)
Speed: 0.14sec/60°(@7.2V)
Torque: 305.3oz·in / 22kg·cm(@7.2V)
That was pretty honest! good morning:)
That looks sick
Well I bought one! Should look good next to my Range Rover classic and my gelande 2 fj40!
Pretty awesome machine, would like to fit with my Blazer K5
I still have never owned a RC4WD product.... This would change that! Just got to find a way to buy one...
Excellent review Matt!! 👍👍
Please stay SAFE! 😷

Towerhobbies has an easy pay option splits it into three payments no credit check and they ship on the first payment just ordered mine from them
I've held out nearly a decade for this thing but it's recently grabbed my attention. Doesn't have radius arms but the 4-link rear and 3-link + ph up front is close enough to realistic I think I'm sold on that. Yota II axles instead of the older Yota with the worse steering, that's a win. Better servo, that's a win. Better ESC, my goodness, that's more than a win, the old Outcry was a piece of junk. Love the interior, love the .. well, everything! Time to finally grab one to celebrate the decade this thing's been out, I guess! That, and a nice cup of tea :)
trail trucks are perfect for us in florida
The suspension links are correct, defenders don't have leaf sprung suspension
Having to look 👀 at this one again...!!
Only one or two others have even covered this model I like so much, but not covering it as well as you,
I do hope you cover some upgrades and improvements to this soon...!! 😎👍✅
Such a nice RC car though, very scale.
Need more videos of this rig as not many available right now
Ordered the autobiography edition 🔥
You probably will be waiting a while, i order simple rims tires 14 days ago RC4WD said yeah its in stock, in stock in another country and when get to USA it will first go to California then to me in NC so i another 3-8 days when it finally shows up. And all they have to say is be patient. Yeah thanks i should have canceled soon as i realized wasnt even in U.S .....hate them 4 this
jolly spiffing review there old chap :)
Got to love a D90 truck cab. But then i am biased !
Matt you may already know and you will search before you do the weathering but Remember Defenders are aluminum body so the weathering must be different than rust waiting to see what you will come up to
👍 on the back window slogan! Love the Heritage green P/U body, but this rig needs the white steelie or Wolf 12 hole steel wheels painted in heritage green to match the body IMO. Looks like an interesting ROC Hobby MB scaler project on the shelf.
That’s a Dragon static model conversion! More video on it soon!
Good review (of course), nice single cab. Maybe convert it to a more standard looking farm truck? Remember, no body rust in the weathering! 👍🏻
Good review
I have the 1/8 Defender 110 from Double E through Banggood they do both 4 door body styles chassis' reliability is questionable but the detail is just as good as the RC4WD and only cost 180 usd bargain with plenty of cash left over to get new gearbox and axles!
8:27 - For info. Defenders a have always been link and coil sprung (albeit using separate coils and dampers) - basically the same suspension layout as the Range Rover and S1 Discovery. Land Rover stopped using leaf springs after the Series 3 in the early 1980s, to coincide with the D90 and 110 being introduced.
The first edition 90 and 110 were not called D90 D110 they were just called Land Rover 90/110.which came in 21/4 petrol or 2.5 Na engine or turbo version of which the latter engine was useless that split the pistons in two halves through poor design .the D90/110 edition only came after the TDI engine came into being ..
@@craigpimlott204 this is true - although I suspect for the general viewership, the key difference is this generation 'Land Rover' body shape - with the flat grille (and not the recessed Series grille) is the simplest way to differentiate whether they had leaf springs or coils.
@@jmo2752 the first v8 landrover had the first flat front grill but was still a series landrover .
@@craigpimlott204 you're spitting hairs now, but ok... If someone wants to build a Series V8, then I suppose they can fit leaf springs to their chassis and modify an RC4WD Defender body to more closely replicate it.
Hey, hope to see a weather tutorial on this, as I assume you will maybe use washes.. I need to learn washes.. I know there are lots of tutorials, but I'd rather listen to you talk.
nice!D90❤
Sweet 'Landie' when weathering don't make it rusty like most do as the bodys are alloy😁👍👌
Not to worry, I wouldn’t!
Hope/wish they would make a 12.3 inch body. The single cab body is sweet
great video, Rc4wd web sight says 277 oz/in torque from the servo at 6v
Nice! 👍😃👍
Not a bid fan of these rigs myself. But there is definitely a market for it. I do think this is one of the better looking ones I have seen. Look forward to seeing the changes that you plan for this thing. thumbs up of course.. I wont mention your petite hands when it comes to one handed driving with the controller.. Or will I? LMAO
For weathering. Hate seeing ppl who rust the whole defenders, they're aluminum! Does rust a lot on the chassis, bulkhead and rear tailgate. The paint tends to chip on lower doors, hinges and behind the rear fenders. There's always scratches down the sides and a dent between the door and the rear wheel. Just a few tips from a Land Rover owner, tho doubt you'll need it 😉 can't wait to see what you do 😊
Thank you! Yes, oxidizing alu is slightly more appropriate!

Oh, and a bonnet is something the women wore on THE LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE. This baby looks like it has a hood.👍👍
And there wagons wore bonnets on The Oregon Trail on there way to Mount HOOD
Uh, typical British term for the hood is bonnet. The trunk is also called the boot.
Scale Builder's Guild I watch videos from all over and the things people call makes me laugh.
im from london and that was pretty good, toodle Pip old chum!
Look for the Golly Wog on the label.👍
You looks unbelievable in this video! 👌🏼The D90 also... 😂
Thanks 😅
your a strange cat, brother;)!! i love your video's mang,LOL i've wanted a d90 for a few years, i think this might be a good time to get one, love my tf2's.......... stay groovy bro!!!!!
great video, like, my friend)
What kind of tires will be more scale? Maybe a more narrow one or a 1.7?
very very great model d90 singke pickup, heritage british truck vehicle, timeless model so classic so beauty short truck. license body what else perfect
Had a 1966 International Scout in the mid 70s that would be Really close to this in size, and they Were really small to wit a four cylinder engine in it. That’s as close to a L R Defender I’ve had as the 3 Jeeps don’t count in that class. 🤔🤭. 👍
yes, my all time favourite rig - there's an englishman in ...
You kinda look the robber at the beginning of pulp fiction with that out fit!! It through me off a little bit
😂
do you know if they sell the body separtely or do you need to buy the rtr to get it? as i already have a G2 D90 frame sitting around needing a body shell. the old body is currently getting a GCM racing Delta Chassis!
At some point I'll bet they'll sell the body separately.
Great review ! Since you are disappointed with the four link suspension are you going to convert it to leaf springs?
Defenders have always had coil springs and radius arms. It is the previous generation Land Rovers Series I/II/III that had a leaf-sprung chassis.
@@jmo2752 I thought they hads leaves in the back. Oh well, thanks.
I’m having issue with my gelande II d90 autobiography edition. The screw on the servo horn is scrapping the bottom plate of the servo. Anyone else having this issue ?
I’d kill to have a defender in the U.S. but they are way too expensive here. Definitely my favorite “Jeep” style vehicle. Followed by the new jimny mostly because you can’t get those here either.
Yes, the mark-up is pretty nuts here too.
The Willys in the back reminded me, but is there a Willys hardbody RC that would fit within the 1/10 scale realm?
Not that I have seen, most of them are larger, for 12" figures.
Love your vids and first comment ❤️
I see leaf springs in this trucks future. The tires are fairly accurate for a Land Rover seeing as they don't make Town & Countries for RC.
Nah, as it’s been pointed out, modern Defenders were radius front, 3 link rear.
As are the steel 8-spoke wheels - a popular 'budget' upgrade in the 1:1 Land Rover world is a set of white Weller wheels, while the RC4WD tyre does look a lot like the original BF Goodrich All-Terrain tread pattern.
Hope you drinking earl grey tea ...with a Labrador dog in the back ..i say, pass the spong cake ...needs the scale builders touch !!
Well, he is a Labradoodle!
How's the cg with this body I know it's lower than the SUV body. Does it make it noticably more stable?
Sorry, I don’t have the current SUV, but I imagine that it would.
😎👍
You should wear that hat more often!
Hey there I got some noob questions I am new to RC vehicles I just got this same rc4wd d90 pickup as a gift from my wife after watching your video and a few other videos you mentioned I need to add loctite to all the bolts and add oil to the shocks? What kind of oil would you recommend?
Something in the 35-60wt would be a good choice! Welcome to the hobby!
@@scalebuildersguild after putting oil in the shocks they seem to leak a lot is that normal?
@@jdmfresh88 sadly, yes. I’ve found that with more time, these leak quite badly.
Right on I appreciate did you upgrade your shocks or do you recommend any shocks I should get? Also is this vehicle water proof?
Hahaha I see what you did there with the window sticker. Did RC Girl comment?
Not yet she didn't!
Where did you get your flat cap
It's Ted Baker, and I bought it in London, at Selfridges! Can't get any more legit than that!
👍
Its the same kit as the d90!? I'll just wait for that body kit to be available and save a ton of money! I already have the same kit, just replace the body for that one.
Since it's a British knock off, are the electronics by Lucas, The Prince of Darkness?
Lucas lamps, because a Gentleman does not motor about after dark.
@@robertlast4546 Lucas fictional the night!
When from London you say sha - c !! :)
They say look for the Golly Wog on the label.
Aaaaaah😌 gimpsuit interior🥴
Aye Chap! Do you mind telling me the class 0 or 1 meaning? Good day mate
Certainly! SORRCA.com publishes a set of rules for competing. We run a class below Class 1 that has a few more requirements: Must use a tire under 4.19" that is branded in the real world, full tire tuck, must have one opening panel, full interior, and hard body. Other than the tires, this truck is ready for that!
Happy wife, happy life
*TOO FAR* 🇬🇧🇬🇧 🤣🤣 the body looks awesome and I kinda like the wheels, the chrome or white 8 spokes where the goto wheel back in the day over here be it a mk2 Escort, Mini or 4x4, and with a classic looking body I’d have to go leafs 👍
Thanks for appreciating my humour!
One wife livid - lol.
Still looking at this but I think 🤔 that Four pin Body to Frame connection 6:30 🕡
Is a Deal Breaker for me, Unless the On-Off switch can be utilized WITHOUT unpinning it...!!
Oh, wait O minute... is THAT it at 8:19 While you were talking about the Axels..!!??? 🤷🏻♂️🤔
You can very easily turn it on and off without removing the body. The switch is located underneath the ESC tray.
Scale Builder's Guild , Thanks a lot..!!
But now it seems everyone is Fresh Out of them 😳🤔😫
Rob Fraley RC4WD has them in stock.
Scale Builder's Guild, I didn’t find (at the time) how to get hold of them, I
Have to order by phone ☎️. But I did find one in nordern kallie’forn I A. That should be her in a few days now, I also like the tires & wheels you mentioned too, we’ll see, 🤷🏻♂️I might need some more advice on things to do to it and hope you mess with the one you have some more 😎👍✅
Hahaha...100% British...made in China!
Great video, very great and classy Land Rover! 👍
Why do all cool crawlers always cost $800-$900 bro, it’s tuff to BS the wife a little with a price tag like these. I’m breaking down all the numbers right now for the wife to make her understand why this makes sense to purchase instead of me build. Already have 3 of these so one more won’t hurt.
Isn’t the price $499?
Scale Builder's Guild I wish, it’s still a good price really when considering building one usually ends up costing me around $1200.
Hey Josh those are not yota 2 axels they are the old yota 1 axels because the axel splits in the middle and you need too let people know that right away...#SBG
Thanks for your comment, my name isn’t Josh though, it’s Matt. These are indeed Yota II cast axles. They also make a machined version.
270oz of torque
Not many views yet I'm early lol
Great attempt at the English accent! Over here we call a fender a wing so you dropped a point there. Otherwise great review, thanks.
