Since you simply don't even know a fraction of histories fighter this claim is legit...who knows what fighting game Alexander the great or some crazy ancient chinese general had...but I still get your point. He's insanely good at fighting! It's just his thing. What I enjoy especially is that he's not a douchebag. I find him a very likeable person from what I've seen so far.

Pranesh Poojary They don't teach you (normally) in kick-boxing to be fair. It's just something some smart guys come up with and I guess is so effective because many don't expect it. Personally, I saw it in a kyokushin fight, I saw the potential and trained on that and started to use it. 100% hit rate! Always worked! A girl who practiced with me also saw it worked and at a certain point started to use it but never managed to deliver it correctly. So yes, of course it requires training to make it surprising. If one does it poorly, it's too predictable

And trust me i could go on and on and on. The Dutch are nice people, friendly but also have a very strong martial arts culture. There even is a Dutch version of Muay Thai. @Eric hoyt Plus the Dutch are the tallest people in the world ;) (only thing that's unfortunate, they don't really do mma, just K1 kick boxin, Muay Thai, Judo and wrestling)
Jacob Ricafrente Rocky Marciano had kind of the same philosophy, he had such great cardio and conditioning that he just kept hitting his opponents even they were defending, eventually their arms would lose power and speed.

Bas can make joke at everything he decides and they're always reasonable and in the same time teach you something great.

My favorite part of Bas Rutten's blocks are that he employs the most effective parts of traditional karate blocks. While the Karate I've learned (Matsubayashi Ryu) is based off the styles of Shuri-te and Tomari-te, Bas is able to focus his style with the influences of Shuri-te and Naha-te, which allows him to capitalize on the strength of hand strikes while remaining agile with kicks.

That fake round house kick into a straight kick after landing roundhouse kicks is so genius
You do it all the time in kick-boxing. The other way around is even more effective because it's a 100% hit in the face!
