I must be older than dirt. During the late 60's, I would go to hear these guys (the original Sonics) play Saturday night at the local National Guard Armory.
Years ago I was really glad to hear that Don was playing bass with the band so I'm equally glad to see that he's back playing and touring with the Sonics. Don was one of the original members of Heart so he's part of that original and genuine Northwest sound. One of the most talented guys I've ever known and worked with.
That's Rob Lind, he got drafted out of college in the 60s for Vietnam, flew off of aircraft carriers and eventually retired as a Navy Captain. We were new-hire classmates at Piedmont Airlines in '87. Amazing guy, nice as he can be.
@@markthorpe4087 and thank him for his service been a big Sonics fan forever and I respect Rob and all his great sax playing. But this aint the Sonics I grew up with.Without Gerry Rosalie's vocals and keys and Parypa's guitar it aint the same. ESPECIALLY the vocals. just sayin
@@goodtimefolkrock Hearing this I'm so glad I got the chance to see them at the beginning of their reunion, at Paradiso Amsterdam, when Gerry Roslie, Larry Parippa and Freddy Dennis - though not an original Sonics-man, but from The Wailers if I remember correctly - ao brought the house down. :-)
not the orig., but good on 'em....great version of Sonics Louie Louie....great drummer, like the keyboard, guitar, sax...bass brings his own vocal thing to the spirit of the orig.....great job.
The fake Sonics. The only original member is the sax player. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the original singer Gerry Rosalie died recently and bass player and singer, Andy Papyra has health issues. Too bad. But nothing lasts forever. I was fortunate enough to see the original member line-up several times from early 2000s to 2015.

No offence but this is shite. I was contemplating seeing them live but it's virtually an entirely different lineup from not just the original but the one which reformed a few years ago. I'll pass.
I'M FROM THEIR HOMETOWN, THE ONLY ONE LEFT IS THE SAX RIGHT? THEY DID A LOT OF SHOWS WITH ALMOST COMPLETE ORIGINAL LINE UP. I'M ENJOYING THIS THOUGH. GREAT SHOW. I WOULD HAVE GONE.
@@georgejohnson2459 Yep, Rob Lind is the only remaining offical member here. THX!
A band that have been playing Rock and Roll since the early 60s should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Getting close to a Sonics tribute band.
I must be older than dirt. During the late 60's, I would go to hear these guys (the original Sonics) play Saturday night at the local National Guard Armory.
How great was it?
@@hirepimike It wasn't about musicianship. It was pure, raw energy. These guys were 30 years ahead of their time!
You have to really feel it to swing like these guys. Wow!
Fabulous! Wit the the great Evan Foster!!!

@@recordguy4321 Agreed. They sound good, but a shadow of the former band. The KEXP shows are stellar.
Saw em with most of the original line up in philly a few years back ....they kicked ass

My buddy Dusty on drums!
The drummer is awesome.
He is so good
He’s an awesome drummer

I have grown up with the sonics & only 1 sonic left, the Great sax player
Oooohhhooo... Tremenda versión de I Don't Need No Doctor
dusty is still the greatest drummer in the world
He's one good old seasoned rock & roll drummer. Great show!
Fuck yeah he is!
Agree
Sincerly for me none Elvis is the king. I can't imagine none more authoritative than them
Рок 🎸 ролл живет классно
Sad that Freddie Dennis, the screamer, in not with them anymore...
super Konzert

You are 100% WRONG! Gerry is still alive and kicking!
Yes, Rob Lind is the only original member touring but Gerry Roslie is alive and well!
@@jakecavaliere5091 - Good. Glad Gerry is still alive. Guess he didn't want to tour anymore.

Ok not original, but Evan Foster kicks ass. They’ve evolved!
Evan is a friend of mine. So happy to see him doing these gigs. He's a great guitar player too.
Evolved HA HA just call the group by a different name THIS AINT NO SONICS I REMEMBER
Is that bobby Gillespie doing a little vocals?
got my ticket for London! The drummer is a loon...looking forward to this..
What a show...
Not my Sonics. All edges lost.
the Beat goes onandonandon...
This isn’t the Sonics 😢
Yes it is. Why do you think it isn't?
@@On_Dustwhen there's a Parypa on stage then and only then will it be the true Sonics.

I'm afraid i don't understand. What is a Parypa? Is it an instrument?

This tribute band is no match to original members. Sound is too clean, they should just break up if they can't tour
