We're a sugar beet farmin’ family in the Red River Valley of North Dakota!
Our farm specializes in growing sugar beets, hard red spring wheat, sunflowers, corn, soybeans, and various types of dry edible beans. The legacy currently consists of my dad, my uncle, my two older brothers, and I (Beet Farmin Mitch).
I am a 6th generation family farmer recently graduating with college degrees in both Agricultural Economics and Crop and Weed Sciences. Enjoy as I showcase our operations everyday work, grow as a young farmer, be a goofball, and walk out the most important thing to me. My love for King Jesus!
My hope is that you may be entertained and spurred on to grow in your passion and knowledge for all things agriculture!
Jak se máš! (Czech for "How are you?")

I'm not big into promoting products, but this is one that has really helped me out with grain marketing, and you should check it out.

Retired North Central IN, corn, soybeans, some wheat and hogs... UA-cam sure has opened up how diverse farming is in the US, good luck and stay safe...
Yeah don't miss a beet! No pun intended. Hah
good day, I'm watching your video, which is very good and informative, I'm also watching the others who harvest sugar beets.
very good, but I think it's a shame that there are so many beet greens left in the field, I would pick these greens, ferment them as silage and put them in a biogas plant to produce biogas.
have a nice time
Im glad you took a bite of a beet! People think I'm crazy when I told them I used to do that with my dad as a kid
Back in the 60's I helped my uncle Benny & his dad farm , some sugar beets , workers had to dig them up , then cut the tops off , I did finally find me the sugar beet knife ! Also the sugar beet truck with folding sides amazing & hard work ! I still have memories of the farming !
Head lamp , brand name , you guys work very hard on sugar beet harvest, stay safe !
Fenix (pronounced phoenix} or ThruNite, don't buy the cheap junk... get the ones with 18650 batteries, most common...
I use a headlight at the last two manufacturing jobs I've had, battery died on a cheap one, I bought a Hart one, and it's rechargeable, and lasts all day on a charge. Thank you for the long hours of work you do to help people have sugar! Nice drone footage, nice video, have a good week!
I just finished driving trucks for my first beet harvest, and I had a blast. I was delivering to the East Grand Forks factory and it was definitely something I’ll never forget!
I really enjoy your drone footage! Thanks and be safe!
Keep that man happy Jennie!! Koop to see you all rolling along keep
Up the good work. Thank Mitch

Great clip" Here in the UK we call the Lifter wheels- Opal Wheels, You have a great Lifter there and ideal for huge large acres, Nice one, 💯👌
I love hearing about agriculture, and especially sugar beet practices from other parts of the world. Thanks for commenting that Dave!
@@beetfarminmitch Your very welcome" Love the clips" keep them coming,👍
Great video. Thanks and take care.
That’s a awesome video, thanks!
Ever thought about a self propelled Harvester (Ropa, Holmer, Grimme etc.)? You barley see pulled havester here in Europe anymore. Greetings from Austria
I did my 2nd year of beets this year. Took mine to Crookston.
Eleven years to Crookston for us.👍
Hello!!! Another great video. I'm curious how you keep up with the "names" of all the different fields. How do you know which beet, wheat, pinto, etc.... field to go to? Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for the video. A guy can go through a lot if he has a good wife.
People think I'm crazy when I told them I used to do that with my dad as a kid
👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂
Back in the old days it was easy to determine how many trucks each farmer could use because they were pretty much the same size. Does AC still tell farmers how may trucks they may use or do they tell the farmers how many total tons they trucks may hold and then lets the farmer decide on how many and the types of trucks to use?
There is a truck haul team that decides based on acres and shift hours. They tell the farmers how many trucks they can run.
@@beetfarminmitch Thank you for responding. Is it the number of trucks or the number of tons that can be decided by how many trucks the farmer wants to use? I was wondering if a dual-axel truck counts the same as a triple axel-semi-trailer?
You think running 2 12 row harvesters is slow, try a 1 row! That's what I first worked with.
I can only imagine! It was 4 row sized when my dad started beets. 4 row topper on our open cab 1650 Oliver and a 4 row lifter with no tank.
Where is this video taken at what town
I know your in the thick of harvest but what have you been reading in the Bible lately? I miss your your quick “tractor devotionals” hope all goes well for you this year.
I miss them as well, especially in times such as these!
This comment made my day and thank you!!! I try to share my faith in Christ often but not overdo it haha. He is my all In all though.
Anyway, I’ve been going through a “Chronological Bible in a Year Plan” with my home church. Today was Luke 14 and 15. Luke 15 with the Prodigal son always gets me!
The prodigal son always gets me also. I’ve been reading Isaiah lately. Just got done with ch 38. Hezekiah has a fatal illness and pleads to God for help. God in turn heals Hezekiah and adds 15 yrs to his life…it’s amazing what can happen when we turn our attention to God!
Where did you get that beenie??? ACS doesn’t have that on their website :(
I got it from my Crystal Sugar Beet Seed salesman for buying Crystal Beet Seed.
How many acres harvest for 24h?

Would love to be in the tractor with all night long
Boring.
