Ethiopia secures $1.5 billion rescue package from World Bank

Ethiopia also secured a 3.4-billion-dollar program from the International Monetary Fund on Monday, just hours after its central bank floated its currency: the birr. The funding is part of a 10.7-billion-dollar financing package by the IMF, the World Bank, and other creditors.
