- In this video I'm showing you the way how I Bleed my 1:10 shocks. This method can apply for all cars on the market. This will increase performance on the track such as, More Traction, better landing and jumping.

Ryan and Spencer in one place! This shock bleed video is very similar to Ryan's, maybe shorter? Both are great videos though, it's actually great to see how different people do things. In the 80's and 90's I had a completely different way of working on my car than my other teammates, however we did things the main part was that we were very successful at the tracks we went to. No UA-cam back then so I had a tendency to try different things just to see what the effect was on the car.
I'm bummed that my home track OCRC closed. Being an oval racer in my youth I had a lot to learn about driving off-road and learning what all the settings do on these newer cars. I was finally turning competitive hot laps when the track closed and I feel I still had a lot to learn. I contemplated the idea of opening a track of my own, but had a few things change in my life and work that would make it difficult right now. It's still something I would like to do, just not in California.

Hey Spencer, can you do a video on jumping, and how to control and manipulate the cars in the air...
Gas brings front up brake brings front down. It's more about practicing and timing. If ur new enough that it all still happens real fast then u just need more time driving. Have fun!

Great vid, Spencer. Very helpful. What are the symptoms of a shock with too little oil vs the excess rebound of one with too much?
What if you bleed it and it has no rebound but when you pull it out to full extension it sucks the shaft back in?
Do you also bleed when you arrive to a new track?
Spencer, where did you get that holder you place your shocks in. Its the black holder that has a cream covered insert>

that second step explains a lot on my end.. just built my first kit, schumacher storm st. and shocks have air still.

When do you use xring seals ? Is that a immediate go to?

Sorry I was watching and was wondering why the screw, what was it for? Then it dawns on me it's a bleeder screw. Duh. Thanks for the video, Bubba! I have the factory team associated shocks with no bleeder screws. Nice job!
Do you keep the bladders inside of the shock caps???
Do you have to do this with shock boots removed? The boots seem to not only prohibit full compression, they appear to be causing a rebound effect since the rubber is being compressed.
After I perform your bleeding process, when I extend the shaft it pulls back in a little, is that a problem?

This is awesome, I've seen a ton of shock building videos but you are the first one I've seen bleeding them with the spring retainers on. Makes perfect sense. Keep up the good work.

I find it hard to wipe away all the excess oil from the bleeder screw hole after I’ve compressed the shock shaft all the way in.
If I put a 1.5mm Allen wrench tip inside the hole to take most of the oil out of the bleeder screw hole is this ok?
Or will this allow too much air to re-enter the hole and stuff up the whole process ?

Question if anyone can help, rebuilt my shocks on a 22 5.0, the shock Collapses by itself. Normal or where did i go wrong?

Question, so in a real vehicle, you do want some rebound in the shock(the piston will push out) so i've thought that it should have some push when compressed like that?
Difference is full size cars have pressurised gas shocks. RC cars have oil filled shocks.

So is it ok if the shock compresses on its own?
No
The only problem I have with this method of doing the second bleed after a pump is that even though it is a dead shock, the shocks are real squeaky because there is less oil, even if there are no air bubbles when doing the bleeding process. Any tips?
I use green o ring grease in the bottom sleeve, that squeak is the shock oil in the o rings. The grease also stops leaking. Hope that helps.

I think having the bleeder as high as possible in relation to the shock is the most important
