there really aren't any bonding scenes between roger and jamie, and this would have helped to show their relationship growing and mutual respect for each other, as well as actually growing to more than tolerate the other for the sake of their family.

They should put all the deleted scenes back and sell the DVDs. I think there are hundreds of Outlander enthusiasts who would buy the extended versions.

Jamie has been training with and using a sword in actual combat for at least 40 years by this point and was considered better than most, while Roger had only been training for a few weeks but still did pretty well.
