Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a homestead, but everyday life in a smaller home. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/arielcelestepho... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

Ariel, during our 45 years of marriage I was a soldier through retirement. Much of our prospective comes from being apart, me in one part of the world, her in another. If, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” we have some experience. I was so happy for you when you and Clay got hitched. You are both beautiful souls. You have created wonderful lessons and most excellent videos on your critters. Thank you, from East Tennessee.

Oh Ariel & Clay, I haven't been getting notifications from your channel for quite some time; I've missed you & others I love to watch. All my devices have been whacked for some time. Plus my kitty has been extremely sick. Seems to finally be on the mend--fingers crossed.
It's great to see your new home, yes home. Happy to see the kitties growing so well too. They're beautiful.
My own kitty, Dylan Thomas after the late poet--"Do not go gentle into that good night .... Rage, rage against the dying of the light," which he wrote to his father while he was on his deathbed, has been going through his own very serious medical problems. Hopefully he'll heal up extremely well & smoothly and be in top form in no time. I cannot think of any other possibility the vet
has written in his care plan. No way, no how. Will cross that bridge if I come to it.
Sending lots of love & you'll see me stopping by on the regular. Looking forward to new vids & watching you settle into your great new home with all its lovely reclaimed materials.
Enjoy snuggling by the flickering wood stove.
      Big hugs,
      ~Marirose NH USA

What a brilliant idea to turn the shop into a temporary home. Your home looks cosy, all the chairs seem to match and the furniture looks great.
I am always surprised with what people get rid of just so that they can have the latest gadget, you and Clay have done a lovely job rescuing them. Your washing machine brought back some memories for me because my grandma had one of them and I loved the mangle part - it was an upgrade from the kitchen sink and the big old mangle outside.

Oh Ariel, how wonderful that you are both able to be together full-time - and in one space that is comfortable for you both! It must have been really a lovely change to have time to spend together. It has been fun watching your life progress over the years. I, too, love rescuing old furniture and household goods. I don't have a single piece of furniture that was new, or curtains, dishes, etc! In the area where I live we have two "Reuse Centres" where we can take anything we no longer need, and help ourselves to anything anyone else has left. It is all for free, organized by the municipality, and run by volunteers at two local dump sites. Much of these items would have ended up in the landfill! I get clothing items, bedding, crafting materials, books, CDs and much more there too. If I want Christmas decorations I get them there and return them after Christmas. (I live in a rural cabin with no running water and an outhouse. It's not tiny, but I don't have storage space for that kind of thing. Books get returned when I've finished reading them too.) And as you can see from your own gleaning, you can end up with a pretty well put together place for not a lot of cost. I love this lifestyle! Clay is quite the amazing partner for you. He seems able to do anything! I wish you both a lovely spring and summer, and I'm sure the new house project will be interesting to watch too!

What a cozy little mountain home! I love the repurposing of the furniture etc. When i lived in Jackson Hole, I would go to the dump when everyone was in church on Sunday morning and collect roll top desks, coal buckets etc that everyone was throwing out in the 70's , load up my VW ( even the roll top desks) take them down to the Bay Area and sell them. My only competition was the skunks at the dump! You & Clay have a beautiful fur & feathers family , your own land, creativity and love for eachother & life. Whatmore can anyone ask for ❤❤❤❤

It’s nice that you have a larger space more suitable for 2 people. It looks pretty cozy. My only “but” is you didn’t review that propane heater you installed in the tiny house.

Wow. This is great. 600 sq ft is a lot of room.
Why would you need a house? 😊
Nice all the free, cheap furniture you got. Smart shopper.
    Looks good and functional.
Love your tiny but this has more elbow room must give you both more room to breath.
    Gefeliciteerd. ❤

You have a James washer! Those will clean your clothes better than any electric washer. Good choice!

Love the James style clothes washer. I have one just like it, that I got at an Amish auction for $50. years ago, and it still works great. I've collected appliances, tool's, and other item's that don't use electric for decades. Lehman's is selling this washer right now, for about $1,300.

That's a great deal! Yeah we purchased this one when it was a little less expensive, but not as good a deal as yours!

Nice space! I’m guessing after living in the tiny house this feels enormous. We did the opposite, sold a house in town that was much too big for the two of us (kids gone) and down sized to a small house on acreage. People thought we were nuts but I don’t regret it a bit. I can clean this house in under an hour and have plenty of time to be outside doing what I love. Congratulations, can’t wait to see what you build eventually.
