After finding out she was cursed by the Contradiction curse, she ran away and lived in isolation for 6 years. Zeref found her and they began talking, eventually they shared a kiss before Mavis's physical body died. But the form we see in the Fairy Tail series was a result of Pretch's efforts to find a way to revive her, thus creating Fairy heart or the Lumen Histoir. In the manga, Zeref also refers to Mavis as being the mother of his son, August , the first of the 12 wizard saints and the most powerful. Towards the end of the manga, Mavis and Zeref die together in the guild hall and in the last chapter, when Lucy's novel gains an award, we see them both rencarnated. They have the exact same physical looks, but different names and they end up together as well. Also, the reason Mavis got to name Makarov was because she was there the day he was born. Markarov's father is Yuri Dreyar. Then, Makarov fathered Ivan, who came to father Laxus.

Benjamin Bufton well you don’t need to be 18 to have a kid. But in most places it’s illegal as growing usually messes up in younger body’s than 18 so the children of children would have defects which is why that law is in place at a certain scale. But that’s not to say you can’t it may just be a chance of defects with the baby but usually age is changing from 16-18 in American areas and in places like Mexico even down to 12 and in Japan the age of consent is 13 so mavis is perfectly in law to have a kid in Japan and it seems August was born without any defects and a large amount of magic power.
Girls can "mature" around 9 physically hence making it possible to have children when your really young, hence in medieval ages it's why 9-13 year olds were commonly mothers of children (though people back then also had a shorter life span).
