The only cars that will get attention is very exotic cars. But that’s not because necessarily it’s a cool car. It’s just because it’s expensive and rare and people will just think your rich. Another one that will get attention is heavily modified car just because they are one of a kind. But those are very expensive and take a lot of time and skills and tools that most people don’t have. It reality the guys driving old classics that are clean will get the most attention. Because pretty much everyone understands that is rare and cool. And Florida Georgia Line got it right when they said nothing is cool till you wear the new off.
What makes a car guy? - actually owning a car. - not owning a car for attention but satisfaction - choosing between reliability or self worth. So true, I have a Honda S2000 (sometimes people think it's a miata until they see the Honda badge) only because I wanted a fun car that was not a money pit with bullet proof Honda reliability and didn't care if it was a popular car or not. I get alot of attention from people saying they didn't know Honda made a convertible. Also turns out girls LOVE convertibles so that's a plus. Driving it with the top down in the warm summer nights listening to Kenny G or some 80s pop/synthwave is something I look forward to evey year.

I am 58 years old, have loved cars all my life. Believe it or not, when i finally bought a new car i bought a 2018 Corolla SE. I fell in love with the styling they put into that model and it had to be Barcelona red! Not a fast car for certain. People think its fast because of the agressive style of the front end! The detail of the triangular back windows reminded me of the 66 Buick Rivera. I had always had big cars with V8s! Sounds crazy i know but i treat the Corolla the same as if was an expensive supercar. I live the fact i can daily drive the car and i genuinely enjoy it! Never in a million years would i have imagined liking such a car that much. Car guys know what it is but i like the thought that went iui into its design.

Honestly man, I just love my car. Love driving with some good music, love the feel of the road under my big assed charger se. I know it isn't an rt, I dont care. She is pretty, the blacktop package makes her look nice, and those 20s it came with look soooooo nice to me. I don't consider myself a gear head or out for attention. Just fell in love with how my car drives. Decent horsepower for a 6, not too loud but throaty when you have to stomp on it. Just love how it feels. I can respect that you like your car, and probably the same way I do. Just wanted to say I can see what you mean about people thinking the car gets them respect, no one else really cares. It to me is more about the fun I have and can show my daughter how it feels to drive around with no real destination in mind but just the feel of the road. I think when I am dead or dying it will be one of the things I miss most. I know this post is long and pointless for the most part, I guess I am trying to say I get it when you say you sacrifice yourself for the love of the drive.

@@katsisvi8097 thanks! Look for a gt or the regular old sxt. If your credit is halfway decent and you get one from 2013 or newer the thing is just a good ride. I got mine with 27k miles and am to almost 68k miles, no complaints or big expensive fixes either. The rt before 2017 has issues with lifters. Needle bearings were kind of weak so you'd need to watch out in later stages of life of the engine. So I'll stick with the 6. Good luck to you and god bless you and yours!

I remember when I was probably around 15 I idolized Koenigseggs and hated Bugattis, but when I started driving I had an 89 s10 that someone else built and I loved it, but I wanted to make it fit me. Since then I've learned to love cars for what they are, but there are still a few types of cars I'm not a fan of but I can still appreciate. Now that I've been driving for a few years and had 2 vehicles totaled (tree crushed my s10 and someone hit my second truck recently) I've realized that it's not about impressing people, it's what makes you happy. Right now I have a ford escape because it's what I could afford but I still believe that even something like that can become something that I cherish as much as I did my trucks. If people could see their vehicles as more than just a vehicle that gets you from point a to b, and enjoy it like we do, they'd see everything differently.

@Cody Hawkins I've had it for a month and a half. So far I've only had to change the oil and new wheels (it didn't need new ones) I just wanted some nicer rims. 0€ in maintenance so far but 1000€ in wheels. It's bright-ish orange with black OEM Porsche rims.

And girls really are down for it, they don’t know the specs (although mine are impressive for that price), they don’t know models and years. The know MERCEDES. So true, I have a Honda S2000 (sometimes people think it's a miata until they see the Honda badge) only because I wanted a fun car that was not a money pit with bullet proof Honda reliability and didn't care if it was a popular car or not. I get alot of attention from people saying they didn't know Honda made a convertible. Also turns out girls LOVE convertibles so that's a plus. Driving it with the top down in the warm summer nights listening to Kenny G or some 80s pop/synthwave is something I look forward to evey year.

I am 58 years old, have loved cars all my life. Believe it or not, when i finally bought a new car i bought a 2018 Corolla SE. I fell in love with the styling they put into that model and it had to be Barcelona red! Not a fast car for certain. People think its fast because of the agressive style of the front end! The detail of the triangular back windows reminded me of the 66 Buick Rivera. I had always had big cars with V8s! Sounds crazy i know but i treat the Corolla the same as if was an expensive supercar. I live the fact i can daily drive the car and i genuinely enjoy it! Never in a million years would i have imagined liking such a car that much. Car guys know what it is but i like the thought that went iui into its design.

I had the chance to buy one and I fell in love with it, so much that now I want to buy a newer faster version. Honestly man, I just love my car. Love driving with some good music, love the feel of the road under my big assed charger se. I know it isn't an rt, I dont care. She is pretty, the blacktop package makes her look nice, and those 20s it came with look soooooo nice to me. I don't consider myself a gear head or out for attention. Just fell in love with how my car drives. Decent horsepower for a 6, not too loud but throaty when you have to stomp on it. Just love how it feels. I can respect that you like your car, and probably the same way I do. Just wanted to say I can see what you mean about people thinking the car gets them respect, no one else really cares. It to me is more about the fun I have and can show my daughter how it feels to drive around with no real destination in mind but just the feel of the road. I think when I am dead or dying it will be one of the things I miss most. I know this post is long and pointless for the most part, I guess I am trying to say I get it when you say you sacrifice yourself for the love of the drive.

@@katsisvi8097 thanks! Look for a gt or the regular old sxt. If your credit is halfway decent and you get one from 2013 or newer the thing is just a good ride. I got mine with 27k miles and am to almost 68k miles, no complaints or big expensive fixes either. The rt before 2017 has issues with lifters. Needle bearings were kind of weak so you'd need to watch out in later stages of life of the engine. So I'll stick with the 6. Good luck to you and god bless you and yours!

I remember when I was probably around 15 I idolized Koenigseggs and hated Bugattis, but when I started driving I had an 89 s10 that someone else built and I loved it, but I wanted to make it fit me. Since then I've learned to love cars for what they are, but there are still a few types of cars I'm not a fan of but I can still appreciate. Now that I've been driving for a few years and had 2 vehicles totaled (tree crushed my s10 and someone hit my second truck recently) I've realized that it's not about impressing people, it's what makes you happy. Right now I have a ford escape because it's what I could afford but I still believe that even something like that can become something that I cherish as much as I did my trucks. If people could see their vehicles as more than just a vehicle that gets you from point a to b, and enjoy it like we do, they'd see everything differently.

Lol im the opposite of the first reason. I bought the Porsche 944....for 3300€ 😂. Everyone thinks it's way more expensive than that because it looks really good actually. The interior, exterior and engine are all in very good shape and the car looks like an expensive classic Porsche to the untrained eye. That's not the only reason I bought it tho I like the style of it +(it has pop-ups)
@Cody Hawkins I've had it for a month and a half. So far I've only had to change the oil and new wheels (it didn't need new ones) I just wanted some nicer rims. 0€ in maintenance so far but 1000€ in wheels. It's bright-ish orange with black OEM Porsche rims.

As a person who bought 2011 mb e200 coupe in 2023, I can say IT WORKS. White sportish Mercedes is a white sportish Mercedes. And girls really are down for it, they don’t know the specs (although mine are impressive for that price), they don’t know models and years. The know MERCEDES.
