LOL who in their right mind thinks this will save the MCU??? The higher ups at Disney have been actively fighting Ryan Reynolds to make the movie worse. This is a one off situation. You’re not going to have a Ryan fighting stupid corporate DEI zombies every time a movie gets made. Dead Pool 3 is the last muscle twitch of an already dead corpse.
I wouldn’t bank on deadpool 3 being good it’s Disney Igor and marvels Kevin behind it both all in on the message.

There was an old episode of ST:TNG in which a race wanted the DNA of Enterprise crew members for cloning. Riker refused, saying something along the lines of "One of me is unique, maybe even special, but 100 of me, a thousand of me diminishes me in ways I can't even imagine." That's exactly what the multiverse concept does -- it diminishes all the characters because there are (hypothetically) infinite versions of them "out there."

won't be. Ryan bends the knee to DEI, as was already shown in Deadpool 2. More of the same, putting a coat of Hugh Jackman Wolverine in it doesn't avoid these things. Deadpool 2 had Thanos in it playing hero, yet it was chalk full of forced DEI.

That's exactly what i was thinking. didnt watch the video, just came to to comments to see if anyone had mentioned it. that was the single biggest cliffhanger of all time - i would even say the O G cliffhanger. i still remember how shocked i was - sitting in the theatre in 1983? and that the movie ended and that i would have to wait 3 years to see what would happen next. and then the first scene in return of the jedi - thats one of the best scenes in the triology - basically it was worth the wait.

Well It has certainly become that way in recent years but the multiverse used to be about more than race swapping characters and used to be a fun storytelling device that nowadays has been abused to the point of being meaningless.
Yup, Sony wants to make their own Miles Morales movies because they were stupid enough to give the Disney the rights to use the character. And the MCU is probably gonna rush to replace Peter pretty soon as well. So we'll likely have 2 live action of Miles.

Deadpool may share the Marvel universe, but I don't actually consider it part of the MCU. It's definitely it's own thing, with references here and there.
Deadpool & Wolverine is more like a reunion than a revival.
Infinity war for me was the high mark..
As a Thor fan since childhood I was grinning ear to ear when they finally showed his true power ..
Unfortunately they immediately transformed him into Fat Thor making a complete mockery of his carector..
Without the infinity stones Thor could very easily stand toe to toe with Thanos and yet they once again weaken him to make others shine..

it was like a marathon runner finally sprinting toward the finish line only to stumble at the last moment. making it across the line face planted into the round. yes he made it but it wasn't pretty.
Deadpool & Wolverine is not going to be the same Deadpool which is why is not D3. The first two were Fox, and this is Disney. Now supposedly Ryan agreed to do this if he had full creative control, which he then offered to share with Hugh to get him back reprising Logan. However, this is going to be a WhatIf for the MCU since it does not exist within that realm. However, as Dave said, with the multiverse, nothing matters. Everything is everything, and they can pull BS like at the end of The Marvels where they cross franchises. This is a one-off that will succeed or not, but will have no effect on the MCU at all. Feige will still be there, working for Iger who allows the board to dictate pushing ESG/DEI/BRIDE (and all the future acronyms they pretend are not just the same garbage in a new wrapper) until the fire-sale of assets or Chapter 11. TL;DR: No.
Marvel is but one organ in a corporate body that is undergoing a cascade of catastrophic, systemic organ failures. The prognosis is grim.

I for one am tired of Ryan Reynolds just being Ryan Reynolds in EVERY movie. It worked in the first Deadpool film and in other work he's done, but I'm over it.
I really liked the send off that Jackman's Wolverine received in "Logan". I don't care about the multiversal excuses - don't fix it if it isn't broken.
The trailer is interesting with all the memberberries, but I don't feel like I need to see the film now.
In the end, I think many fans will enjoy this film. After that, who will Marvel resurrect in the next nostalgic bid to win back fans? Don't know. Don't care. I was tired of the "consume current MCU product and look forward to next MCU product" a decade ago.

There was no plan going into Endgame, starting with their ham-handed shoehorning of Capt. Marble and a Nick Fury that was too slow and dense to page her during the Infinity War massive assault on NYC to retrieve the Mind Stone in order to eliminate half of the universe's life, because that wasn't enough of a threat to warrant an emergency alert...she had some planets to save, after all. The entire universe can wait...
Sheridan falling at Z'ha'Dum was great cliff hanger.

Take the popular characters and make solid standalone features, maybe with team ups. Also, stop spending $200 million a movie! Take smaller obscure characters and make those movies with a John Wick budget to see if they resonate. If not, no huge loss!

Deadpool 3 can make a billion dollars and it’s still not going to save the MCU, because everyone subconsciously knows that it exists in its own little world separate from the MCU and FoX-men. No amount of Disney insisting otherwise is going to change that perception.
Cassandra Nova as the big bad could be a stroke of genius or the turd in the punch bowl. Time will tell.
I didn’t get anything from that trailer that made me excited to see it. What’s it about? It just had a lot of scenes of fighting and nothing else.
They'd have to 1.) recast and reboot the FF and X -Men in the style of Phase One. 2.) Forget the Multiverse 3.) Include the remaining classic characters when needed to create a coherent universe.
It will be a fun time, financially a small success but not a saver.
In order to save the MCU you need more than just a side-move. They need to deliver for 1-2 years in a row.

DP3 will definitely make money, BUT, that’s because it’s Reynolds and Jackman. They have all the weight needed to keep the movie good. That said, it’s one movie and it will absolutely end. I couldn’t give a crap about Captain America: Brave New World.

6:00 EXACTLY! End Game was a step backwards and IW was peak MCU. All downhill since Thanos won.
Yeah, Deadpool 2 was kind of disappointing. Making my expectations for the 3rd one pretty low. Also, Endgame was a disappointing mess. Awful writing and a lot of terrible character treatment.
First avenger, and winter soldier are the pinnacle of the MCU for me. Great stories, deep character development, insane chemistry between characters, and world building that MEANS something. Add to this Civil War, and the captain America trilogy of films, to me, are perfect.
Deadpool 3 looks like it's going to be bad. They're already advertising emasculating Wolverine both with the claws joke and the garbage character, Cassandra Nova.
Also, Hugh Jackman looks rough. He looks like they made him up for Logan again.

I think, at best, Deadpool III will be a good one-off movie. But its not going to revitalize the MCU.
You need time, new writers, and new Marvel executives. Deadpool and the X-Men are to separated from the MCU.

The agree that idea that one movie or series will save the MCU is laughable. It will take a proven history of great movies going forward. Say, at least three blockbuster movies in a row, and I just don't expect that to happen.

The end of Back to the Future Part II was a great cliffhanger. Doc Brown and the time machine seemingly vaporized by a lightning strike, leaving Marty stranded in 1955. Then he receives a letter telling him that Doc is alive, but in 1885 . . . and that's all we get. Is Marty still stranded? Was the time machine wrecked by the lightning? What happens next? Come back next year for Part III!
It's also the only time I can remember ever seeing a movie that ends with a trailer for its own sequel.
part 3 was a fun ride. "what kind of stupid name is that?!!!"
I had the taped tv version when I was a kid, it never played the trailer for part 3. I'd wonder for years to know what happened. My parents didnt rent much from the video rental store, and tv played part 3 like hardly ever. When I finally did get to watch it I was disappointed. Part 1 spends a great amount of time in 1955 but it was done so well. Part 2 zips to the future, then the altered present and back to the past. Part 3 spends the majority of the movie in 1885 and doesnt feel like a time travel film, feels more like a western drama with some comedy and romance sprinkled in. If BTTF trilogy was a novel, the final chapter would be a let down. Part 3 should've been as daring as Part 2 and jump around more in the timelines. I didnt expect a western for the final installment.
Hugh is looking older, he clearly has hit the age in which muscle mass begins to diminish; I wonder what they're gonna do when they can't rely on him anymore to make up for the deficit of all their woke slop.

im still not sure who the villain is, casandra nova is some high powered opposition that wade and logan cant beat as she's basically prof x with no morals, so i think she's just gonna be one they escape from from a parallel world. theres still lots we dont know.
BUT it looks good and i think alot of it is down to the fact deadpools been his own self contained thing for so long that just leaving it to the lads there gives it a better chance than the usual MCU fare.

The one thing that is really bothering me is that Hugh Jackman isn't wearing a mask. We finally got the yellow suit, but without the mask it just looks incomplete. And I'm wondering if Jackman has one of those vanity contracts that requires his face to be showing all the time.
They’ll probably show him masked at first for a few minutes, but will drop it for the remainder? And rightfully so, who would want to see a masked Jackman, especially after coming out of retirement for his good pal RR?

Holland's Spider-Man was little more than Iron-Lad for his trilogy as well his three supporting roles in major crossover storylines. That final swing in NWH was the first time I legitimately felt that he was finally and completely his own Spider-Man.
The MCU fumbled their Spider-Man by making him ride the coattails of Tony Stark and preparing him to replace him once RDJ left the franchise.
They also had him in an odd limbo as he was the fresh young face but they also wanted fresh young *female* faces to replace the older cast.

Heck no. I mean, the trailer looks good enough, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were always fantastic in their roles, and a lot of people had been waiting to see those two toegther on screen, so I'm guessing this film is gonna be a success, maybe a huge one.
But revive the MCU? I'm not even sure this is even possible at this point. The original cast and best actors are all gone by now, the major plot line to be solved, has been solved, and throwing multiverses in the midst of all this just so they can suck nostalgia from when other studios held these franchises is not gonna work. Those are gimmicks, not real interest.
To be fair, I think the ONLY thing that could perhaps save the MCU is a complete and total reboot. Start from scratch. Forget the current actors, forget the old actors, forget the multiverse, forget the current plot lines, start the same franchises anew with new faces, and do some other huge ark from the Marvel comics across multiple movies like in the beggining. And hopefully, drop the woke stuff. Then MAYBE the MCU can generate momentum again for an "Endgame" level of antecipation. Let this be part of the "old guard" like the Sam Reimi's Spider-Man movies, or Fox's X-Men. Stop trying to stretch it out to infinity and revive something that clearly people have no interest in anymore. Then MAYBE further down the road, you drop a cameo or two
Did the trailers make me finally feel something good, again? No doubt about that. Am I still doubtful and skeptical about this turning out good or even great? ABSOLUTELY. And, as much as I hate to say it, I'd rather see the entire MCU just burn down in flames than see another good product keep it going only for the next film, show, and so on be another trash heap, especially the kind that directly insults me and my core values, which has been a staple for quite a while now.

Meh, I won't be surprised if the new Deadpool does reasonably well; maybe ever the best film since EndGame. But I doubt it'll reach $1billion. Like in the Comics Deadpool is an anomaly in of himself.
I expect D&W to do well. Both Reynolds and Jackman really do care about their characters, but a single film isn't going to repair the MCU. There's simply been too much damage to it at this point.

Multiverse means any actor can be brought back as another version of a character when a character is permanently removed. Only the most superficial observer believed, for example, that Gamora from the end of End Game would be the same. GotG3 did a good job dealing with that, as did Spidey,NWH. The two Peters had to deal with giving up on lives lost; Parker having to realize that he has no place in Ned or MJ's life even though they're still the same people. They had their histories altered, so they're only multiverse adjacent.
Deadpool & Wolverine looks dry as hell.
And something gives me a feeling that the ‘humour’ is gonna be corporate edgy. They’re not gonna have the balls or brains to hit as hard as they should. Ryan Reynolds can give a good line delivery, but without good material… it becomes stale after a while. And the humour is both trailers shown so far hasn’t impressed me.
Deadpool & Wolverine feels like more soulless commerce. And anyone who thinks it’s gonna “save the MCU” has no idea how damaged and incoherent the MCU is.
Funny you should mention Stargate as I am rewatching the franchise after many years and it struck me just how good most of the season finales and premieres are. Fantastic shows. The MCU is not repairable at this point, the damage done by low quality offerings in the cinema like Antman 3, Thor Love and Thunder and the Marvels was made worse by almost every tie in show being a dud. I think Disney will keep making content until the bitter end though, and there will be diehards who watch it but it's mass appeal seems firmly over. It is no longer must see media.

It's taken a "phase" or two to turn the MCU into complete shart. Are you actually in the belief that one movie can turn it all around? Disney deserves our disdain after the horrible treatment of their fans. From Star Wars to the MCU to Indiana Jones to the DEI bombardment of their animated films and theme parks, Disney has shown all of us that we don't matter, only the "message." Stop supporting them at all costs. If they completely reverse course at this point just understand it's not because they care. It's because investors forced them to and they had no other choice. But we have a choice. Disney is not Walt Disney anymore.
I can't be bothered to care about another super hero movie, let alone another Deadpool movie. Regarding Deadpool itself, the depravity and vulgarity is unnecessary, and the comment about being Marvel Jesus is blasphemous (and I take offense to it). Regarding super hero movies in general, the multiverse concept has ensured that super hero movies become a mess of story lines that only serve to make nothing matter, because it can always be fixed in another timeline. Let's be honest, super hero movies are formulaic and corny.

Honestly. If all they did was have small isolated stories that took place in the universe with the occasional crossover for a while instead of going for a continuous “the whole universe is at stake” plot in EVERY movie it would be fine. It would give them time to readjust, introduce new characters, and come up with an actual well thought out plan for the future. The problems been every single damn movie keeps trying to be bigger than the last and the “stakes” keep getting bigger. First it was the world then the galaxy now the multiverse, they need to chill and tone it down a bit at least for a little while.
From what I understand the first two thirds of this movie will be great. The last third apparently Disney interference messed around with and Ryan was pissed and they had meetings about it and Disney just basically told Ryan to pound sand woke wins....so we will see....

Yeah, at best, Deadpool 3 will serve as a vehicle to drag the MCU, Marvel and Disney a little further before the inevitable economic collapse coming. None of it can be saved, all of it is too far gone.
