I have never thought about testing an antenna with a POTA activation. Great job
And the airplane contact was great

Hey Steve, using POTA is a great way to see how your antenna is reaching out both on receive and transmit. If you hunted for POTA for 3 or more days with various band conditions you would be able to see how sensitive or how far you can reach out with this antenna. Thanks for watching!

This antenna is VERY sensitive to coax movement and install orientation. Stretched out like that will give you far different SWR than when installed.

Can those antennas work if mounted into the ground or must they be on a vehicle?

Hey T JO - If you go to the website, there are options shown to use it in various ways. They don't have to be used on a vehicle. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video! I'm interested in the COMPACTENNA line and there are a few reviews on UA-cam but really nothing on any of the HF antennas. I'm not sure if it is possible but it would be great to see a review on the HAMR-7.

@ab9kw - according to the inventor of the COMPACtenna line of products, the HAMR-7 is a great antenna. But, it is being discontinued due to higher costs associated with manufacturing and shipping. it will continue to be supported and is still listed on the COMPACtenna website. There may be some stock still available on some reseller sites. Thanks for watching!

would this work with 2m SSB?

Hey Justin, based on our quick measurements, we were able to achieve 2 to 1 SWR which is "OK". You might be able to bring that down some. Looking at our video, we used a range from 144MHz to 148MHz, so it should work. We have not tested using a piece of sheet metal as a ground plane yet which may yield better results on all three bands. Thanks for watching!
