- It's been a very exciting journey since I first watched Mr. Kwon's infamous UA-cam clip, 'Korean Drummer Steals The Show'. Inspired by his unique drumming, I directed a short documentary film about Mr. Kwon titled 'A Drummer's Passion' and it screened at 5 film festivals across North America.
Last year, we hosted the inaugural Arirang Korea Smartphone Film Festival in Toronto and asked Mr. Kwon to play a couple of songs as an opening of the event. He entertained the audience with his signature drumming performance and people were awed by him.
I hope this video will entertain Mr. Kwon's fans worldwide who have been waiting to watch another viral video of him.

飲む犯人から来ましたけど、80歳超えてこれは凄い!上手いし感動です。
All drummers feel that way, he just decided to let it out. LOL
hahahaha.......almost
This guy knows how to entertain. I always admire the passion and intensity of his drumming. Technical skills are essential, but to entertain, he has a great sense of what it takes. My guess, this guy is extremely humble and has lots of heart.
You said it! :)
i like his showmanship, he seems to enjoy it too, sharing the joy , isnt music is all about ?
You nailed it, bro!
I think Colonel Sanders smoked those 11 herbs and spices.
It's his right hand man: General Tao
LOL
No wonder i find that Chicken so delicious! Damn all this time i was consuming it the wrong way, Im smoking the next drumstick....oh yeah!
It's all about the theatrics people. If you want to criticize him, do it on the basis of his "performance". Either you find it entertaining or not, I love it.
mark y I'd rather go with the 'Mad Drummer' Steve Moore. He does all sorts of crazy shit, but at least he plays the songs on time whilst doing it.
Crimson Sunrise Which one made you laugh. Moore is a good drummer but not funny.
mark y I'm looking more at the big picture, which is why Steve Moore is my pick. His showmanship tricks are more creative and he does all of them in time, as well as having a good drum sound. Plus, he doesn't do them all the time either. Unlike this guy, which seems to be all showmanship and no music. Everything is overplayed. The guy is literally stuck in 'Drummerland'.
Crimson Sunrise Of course Steve is a way better drummer.
@@crimsun7186 Cool, but he was doing the Mad Drummer thing while the Mad Drummer was crapping green poop in his diapers. I say both are unique and I am a big fan of the Mad Drummer. I say you know talent as the Mad Drummer is one of my favorites also. This guy is from Korea and invented his moves with out as much influence as we have today. My guess, he has seen a snippet of Keith moon as I see a lot of Keith Moon in his vibe.
Ya gotta love the internet. This guy is now one of the most famous drummers in the world....
Thanks for making this and posting it! He's a true gem of the world!
This guy was born to play The Ventures "Wipeout". I think the original version was actually two drummers playing the drum solo.
How funny it it be if there was two drum sets set up and this guy was running back and forth doing a drum dual by himself... I'm pretty sure he has the energy to pull it off..
The attitude of this dude is what makes him cool . He'd be fun to just hang with .
Perfect example of filling the room with your energy
I love this guy!
the coolest drummer!!
Love it!
So cute, he's adorable:)
I love him..he is great
Thank you!
Simplesmente fantástico!.

Asian Colonel Sanders was like, "fuggit I aint doin shickin no more."
Wow
Nice one
This drummer is so bad that he is brilliant.... ;-)
(love the humor)
Rock'n'Roll!
He might have gotten into Mick Fleetwood's cocaine.
lol
one of the songs almost sounded like Wipeout! ;)
Oh man can you imagine when his son brought home his report card with the B+
It would be AWESOME if he plays the drum solo of In a gaga da vida.
Omg I wish that guy was my dad
can you name the songs that they played? thanks! i need them for my research
haha.. i like this way
So funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
World's coolest grandpa

Mom, i’ll never joined band with DAD again!
This oldman shud be in greenday band
Seriosry, this is rousy!
what is the original second song titel?
이것이 코리안 소울 드럼!
I liked his version of Wipeout. The original hit record was far too easy and simplistic.
This would've been way hipper if Mr. Kwon was playing this stuff to 'The Way We Were', or something similar..
I'm starting to believe he is a big fan of Colonel Sanders with a big passion for drumming.
飲む犯人だ!
what the name 2nd song ?
Korean drumms 🇰🇷 what brand?
No resos?
Looks exhausting.
I always wondered what An Oriental Gary Busey Drummer would be like.

He's very nice even if he's not very precise in the rhythm...
I think hes the oriental kieth moon.....lmbo
He is the reincarnation of John Bonham!!
James Parker-umm, NO, he is not!
Unless you meant that as a joke, in which case I apologize for being snarky.
This shit is not only what passes for entertainment nowadays, but what also passes for music.
Korean drummer docomenter UA-cam Kwonsoonkeun Canada Toronto and Ontario Korean drummer
.......that is iggy Pop under cover.
What he lacks in musical ability, he more than makes up for with enthusiasm.
Is that supposed to be wipeout?😆😅😂😝
don't they ever mic his drums??
They should name their band 'Tempo is overrated'.
This is why you shouldn't give cocaine to old people...
Looks like he's trying to copy "This Drummer is at the Wrong Gig" (Steve Moore), who can actually play "Wipeout"...
That is exactly what he is TRYING to do........he has seen how much attention Steve Moore gets during a show.....sadly this guy hasn't grasped the fact that Steve Moore is a top drummer...and NO amount of copying will ever get "Mr Magoo" anywhere near the talent of Steve Moore....but he seems to think he is just as good.....so....why burst his bubble...after all...copying is the highest form of flattery....(hope Steve forgives me for saying this)...but I am a semi pro drummer too....so I say it with a smile.....(or maybe it's wind?)
Sorry guys, you've got it all completely wrong. The drummer is Kwon Soon Keun. He was playing drums back in Korea before Steve Moore was born, he must be in his late 70s here... There are youtube videos of him doing this act from decades ago, long before Moore got famous for doing his act. Moore may be better at it - but KSK certainly didn't copy Steve Moore...
Ok fair enough....he may have been doing before Steve was born.....BUT even after doing it for ail those years.....most people get better with practice..........Kwon Soon Keun......obviously hasn't........this we haven't got completely wrong
Pejay Evans
Search for ADD-4. He's appeared on a lot of albums since 1962 and there is loads of his stuff on youtube.. They were a very successful band, he'd be quite a well known name at the time (In Korea...). I read he became the drummer with the resident dance band at the USAAF base for many years, too. I reckon he was a very good player in his day - I suspect he hasn't played for years and when his 70s clowning about video went a bit viral, someone got him out of retirement to do this event. That's probably why his chops are rusty.
Still, loads of energy for an old man. Not sure I'll be jumping on my stool to hit the cymbals when I'm 75...
I'd be happy to have hair that thick at my age now (55).....let alone 75 !!!....here endeth the lesson
Move over john bonham.
Must be a fan of Gene Krupa
Indeed.
ポンチャク兄さんもですが私たちは本当にグルプ動きに向いてませんね

Look like another bad sounding kit sold from Cash Converters ?.

A recent graduate of the Donald Trump School of Music
ギターのおじさん元気かな?
They fuckn butchered wipeout!!!!
Johnny Orr, yes they did!!!
The word "metronome" is not in his vocabulary.
too much viagra
i think
You say it's all about the performance? BS and a total cop out. That this guy probably makes more money and gets heard by more people than conservatory trained artists, demeans the profession and is one more example of the celebration of mediocrity.
+Ralph Hale tell that to gene krupa. it's called a performance, the point is to entertain, if its entertaining then he's doing his job. I wouldn't say it's demeaning or a celebration of mediocrity, it takes a lot to get up on stage and let your passion show, instead of sitting behind a kit like a dead log. Just because his style is not your own doesn't mean its wrong, just different.
Ralph Hale, ABSOLUTELY!!! His drums are terribly out of tune, he lost meter at least 3-4 times, his dynamics are uneven and ragged.
Needs some work, I think.
Damm Jackie Chan not looking great
joker...
最悪!!!!!!!.
