You have to catch him with his guard down to hurt him via his eye, and if you don't, he'll just shield it like he did with Dipper. Bill Cipher can survive existence erasure if even 1 molecule of his survives. And factor in his irrelevant speed, he can't be killed. Btw he has immortality types 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9. Also, Spongebob got killed by Patrick via the string. (I know you can hear his laugh afterwards, but we don't see his body, and Patrick could've easily stolen his voice.)
