      No offence. I understand what you do. And the urgency and pain that propels you guys. But maybe the relatives of the 100 million dead natives that might want to know about their history? Why does nobody talk about them? Be kind to them too. I would just ask that you make a point of tracing unusual archaeological objects in your journey. If you find something of note, let me know and I can build a database from it.

      At the earliest stage I can superimpose a KMZ over the USGS lidar survey and other agencies for their perusal. We can mark cars out as junk etc... On the archaeological side I can control that, just about. Anything more will require help.

    As a family member of a person who was missing for 5 years, what you do is invaluable. You put a stop to the question, accusations, fear, grief that a family goes through. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!!! One day technology like what you use will be a standard for all missing persons from day 1. And someday it will be adapted for use in land based searches too.

      @@weedfreer they NEVER show a body. And if they do find a body it's "hands off" and it's then turned over to law enforcement for processing.
      It is a very vital need for families of persons who " disappear"....... and law enforcement to close a case as well as insurance companies. It's a beautiful thing to bring a deceased one home for family to have closure and their loved ones burial . It's amazing for them to have loved one found.

    • @weedfreer
      @weedfreer 2 роки тому +12

      @@nancywood9531 they may not show a body, however, those cars, being lifted for the first time in 5/10/20 years more often than not, when they've located someone, DO contain their remains.
      Placing a picture right next to the car while lifting it out the water is a little much.
      Even if it's the case that the car does not contain the body for the selection of recoveries they've chosen to do this for, it could be argued that by not making this clear, the picture is being used to imply that the remains were located within the car.
      You wouldn't, for example, host a UA-cam channel which documented the lifting of coffins which were certified for exhumation because of suspected suspicious circumstances prior to their death for example.
      Essentially, it could be argued that, these cars are the 'coffin' for these people...and the title sequence is supportive of this narrative.
      They may well be, they may not be in the instances used in their title sequence/showreel.
      However, by not making it clear while displaying that (for all intents and purposes) coffin immediately after its exhumation right next to a picture of the occupant, while using it as some sort of trophy, a gratuitous example of 'the good they are doing'/the success they've had, is somewhat crass.
      Sure, show it as part of the particular documentary they're making later on in the documentary...with fair warning that it may be disturbing to some...but, to continue to use it without a second thought in a title sequence seems gratuitous at best...morbidity porn (see the distressful situations we have to go through for you...over and over...as if we need a reason more to support them)
      I support what they do, however, stuff like this does make it difficult to stay committed.

Aparantly he was bitter about money yet he failed to mention how much Jared helped him with raising money for his equipment. And he brought that young kid who did Jared's videos on the earlier "recovered" videos into it by having him in the video where he based Jared. It was all about money, his complaints. I think Sam wanted Jared to support him financially and Jared didn't go for it. As Jared has ALWAYS stated, the only people on the payroll are thos two who record and produce his videos for you tube and Facebook. It is critical, the videos, as they are what helps AWP raise the funds needed to go on these very expensive trips. For instance, with gas prices rising, every single time they stop for gas it costs well over $100. He is trying to save money so he can replace the trailer. It is falling apart and he needs one that is 4-wheel drive. Yet Sam complained that Jared was saving money. We joined and continue to support financially AWP. Our estate includes AWP as one of our beneficiaries. Our sons all approve of this because they know how close they were to needing your help. My husband and I moved from Nevada to Salem, Oregon with his employer (the Federal Bureau of Prisons) in 2014. Following a primitive navigation system we took an exit as instructed only to realize that this “exit” was now a gravel road leading into a huge body of water! I screamed for my husband to stop and realized we were 8-10 feet from going in the water in the middle of the night with no one around! He slowly backed up the gravel road to safety. We sat still but shaking as we calmed ourselves and our 3 dogs. We didn’t tell our sons, or anyone, what had happened for many years when we saw the work you do. They all agreed that we had to remember AWP in our will. Please keep doing God’s work.

    It's wonderful what you are all doing...bringing some answers to the families of missing loved ones. Just listening to you finding several cars from the early 70s in the Ohio River, I wonder if most of them ended up there after Hurricane Agnes created a lot of devastating flooding in the northeast in 1972. It's a few years before my time, but my family had been adversely affected by that flood. They lost almost everything and had to start over. Whole houses were known to float away, so I'm sure cars did too.

    1) You guys are doing such incredible work, and 2) I cannot understand how you're able to distinguish that those images on the sonar are vehicles! Whenever you show them in the videos I'm completely unable to make out what clearly distinguishes it as a car...always just looks like some photo taken on Mars or the moon to me.
