If the Pixel 4a has a snapdragon 865 or 855 then that would be the game changer for me. As far as longevity and performance, it’s not the place to make compromises, and the iPhone SE 2020 was designed to last.
Richard Negrin yeah, but for what price ? For a simple 50-100$ difference, you sacrifice 2 to 3 years of extra support because you want a slightly better camera and a screen as huge as a billboard. Not to mention the fact that after 3 years worth of upgrades, the Android OS experience will become as bad as an iPhone 4S running iOS 9. And then what? You have to give that phone up after a few years only to throw away another 350-400$ on another android that promises a few years of support until that phone gets sluggish as well (slow mediocre processor)... The problem I’ve noticed with android is that there’s NO PHONE out there that can compete to the SE 2020 when it comes to the processing power which dictates the longevity and usability of the phone throughout the years. Don’t be one of these people who think that 400$ is nothing because for me it’s a lot of money and I rather invest in something that will last me a long time rather than sacrifice that for a few minor differences...
@@obsessivesoundz you think you'd use SE in 2024-25 lol? With that old dates look and gigantic bezels? Good luck with that using a restricted hardware where you can't take decent pictures when the light dips.
Saurabh Dhaul yes I do. I do not like big phones nor small bezels. The SE 2020 is the perfect choice, and the pictures are really good to me. I don’t like big phones, Android software has little support, and there’s nothing out there on Android that is the same size and the same performance as the SE.
"It also has haptic touch"... its.... its just a long press mate (with a fancy vibration). Every single phone has that.. They got a great marketing team when people think "haptic touch" is a feature after removing an actual great feature (3D Touch).
I would choose the iPhone SE. Here’s why : 1) Support. The performance and longevity of the phone are my selling point. The longer I can use it the better. I can easily go for 5-6 years of support for this phone, versus the pixel which will last about 3 years, giving its processor is somewhat mediocre. 2) Both phones have great screens, despite the fact that OLED is somewhat superior to LCD. At the end of the day, the difference would be small. 3) Size. Anything bigger than the iPhone SE and my hands would not be able to hold it. The pixel phones are a little bigger than the SE. it would not be a comfortable hold, nor be usable with one hand for me. 4) Battery. I don’t mind the smaller battery. In fact, it lasts me from 8 in the morning till 9-10 at night with normal usage (a few games here and there). So I would charge it when going to sleep and it would be 100% in the morning. So no need to charge my phone during the day. 5) Price. You get a lot for 399. 50$ more and you have wireless charging, IP67 rating which is useful, and a better built phone (more premium, higher quality materials).
You made all the points that I have been saying about the iPhone SE 2020 all this time. It’s the best when it comes to everything you have listed. The camera if you get a dedicated camera app Will make a Google pixel look like an amateur. For the heavy users there is a case on Amazon for $19.99 that will give additional power to the iPhone SE 2020 and it comes closest to the iPhone 11 in terms of battery life.
jayh40515 Glad to hear. Honestly, the pixel 4a for 349$ would’ve been a fantastic alternative IF the processor was a snapdragon 865 or 855 and that Google promises at least 5 years of support. ONLY then I would’ve make the switch because only then I can say that THIS is a serious competitor.
George OBSVNDZ Thing is majority of people on iphones or android usually upgrade every 2 - 3 years anyway so for most 5 years support won't matter. Plus good luck having the battery last past 3 - 4 years
Blazzing It Up that’s true. But thank god i’m not a part of this majority. I rather stick to what still works until it really becomes necessary to upgrade.
As an IOS user I think the pixel 4a is the better choice over the iPhone se 2020 because your getting a lot more value for a lower price. Even if your Apple only, it's better to buy 2-3 year old iPhone flagship vs the se 2020.
Sure a better value no water resistance mediocre processor three years less software support and no wireless charging sounds like to me they took away too many features and people are getting screwed getting less while paying more that’s what I think about The Google pixel 4a however I do agree with you on the point that you could buy an older iPhone that’s a flag ship and it’s better than the Google pixel lineup 👍🏻 while I disagree on some things I do agree with the last few things you said about the order iPhone versus the pixel
Nice comparison video which I enjoyed tremendously. I would choose the iPhone SE because of the video. But I appreciate what the Pixel 4a brings. Blessings on your day.
I've been using iphone 6 for 3+ years the only reason i picked 4a over se is the screen size and design, come on its 2020 and don't want to use the same booring design for more coming years . Happy with my 4a :) (personal opinion) new comers definitely will love se ,if they are not heavy user and want to experience iphone eco system then se is good choice and budget friendly
Question -- Does being on a Windows 10 laptop have any bearing on choosing between an IOS iPhone like the SE 2020 and the Pixel 4A. For one thing, I would be transferring my videos and photos to the computer. Thanks.
@@Zenguy89 thanks. I ended up going with the se 2020. The longer support period was a big factor. So far I’m very pleased with my choice. Also, paid just 200 for it.
I’d take the pixel 4 as I have the iPhone se. I don’t see why others attack each other which phone is which. iOS has its hiccups so do android no phone is perfect and it depends on what your needs are. Pixel 4 sounds like a winner and the iPhone SE has a great battery life after the update. I refuse to pay almost 1400 bucks for that Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, it better bake me a sandwich for that price plus I can get the Pixel much cheaper, lol
While I absolutely agree that the probable target market of the SE is students...it also makes sense as a business phone. I used to have to wear a suit to work daily and could never keep my Nexus 6, Galaxy Note, or a plus version of the iPhone devices in my pant pockets because they were just too noticeable and looks a bit silly IMO. A smaller phone like either the 4a or the SE would be perfect for any business professional who needs to keep their phone on them while still maintaining a professional appearance. Personally, I would (and did) choose the 4a. I do not hate Apple (I am surrounded by them at my home and my job) but have just preferred Android since the first HTC G1.
It's probably gonna be a " if you're in the iOS ecosystem take the iPhone otherwise the pixel is a great option" which makes these videos kinda useless.
@@zollotech cool. I just don't like the comparison that state the obvious that if someone orders iOS then they'll go with the iPhone or if they prefer Android they'll go with the pixel. I want to learn something when I watch these comparisons
@@soleil3gs what is it you want to learn that wasn't covered? It sounds like you already know enough about both phones before you watched. I wouldn't knock the video because of that.
Solomon's Tech there’s really not much to learn though. Essentially, it comes down to preference and Aaron covers both phones thoroughly if you give the video a full watch.
Nice review, good job. But i can't understand why you don't show how those phones works like a phone. Size, speed camera, video but not calls and signal. At first we buy a phone...
I would go with the iPhone SE...I am "stuck" in the Apple Ecosystem so it is nice to have everything sync across the devices. I also like that if I have an issue with the product, I can go right to the Apple Store and get it resolved.
Unless you blast full brightness the SE gets way more than 5 hours. I can easily get 7-8 depending how I use it. Normally I see around 10% battery loss per hour (or less)
Most don’t. In my test on autobrightness which Apple recommends for the best battery, I usually would get 4.5-5. This is also what the average user sees if you search online. There are always exceptions of course.
I have to agree with him I also received about seven hours of battery life. If the battery life is such an issue there’s a case on Amazon for $19.99 it will give you a Battery Life close to the iPhone 11 I won’t settle for the Google pixel 4a it’s not my style
I would get the 4a because it has an OLED display, better camera, bigger screen, double the storage, headphone jack, and better battery life. Oh and $349 vs $399
one thing to take into consideration is that in my experience older apple hardware tends to run like trash on new IOS versions, so IMO the difference in how long these phones are supported is irrelevant for me cause if I had an iphone now I'd stop updating it after like 3 major OS updates. But then maybe that's changed since 2014-2017 when I had an iPad.
Pixel 4a for me. I'm too used to Android at this point and the 4a delivers on pretty much all the basics (would've liked to see a better processor, even a la carte for additional $). Props to Apple for making an affordable and capable iPhone. It's no doubt one of the reasons Google decided to undercut their prices even below that of the 3a, which had mediocre specs at best.
If I've never owned an Apple product, is it worth switching to a iphone se , I've always used android. And is it easy to switch all my photos from android to iphone
I have used both iOS and android over the years every iPhone I’ve ever owned has been so smooth and a joy to use. Android in the other hand is iffy. If I ever switch back to android it’s either Motorola or pixel that’s it. I have a pixel 4a 5G right now and a iPhone se which is my daily driver I love love being able to one hand my phone again it’s refreshing lol
My pick is 4a any day Long battery 🔋 life OLED Best in Class Camera Modern Design Bigger display SE has it’s Pros too. No hate on SE but 4a is clarity takes the cake
I'm here because after buying an iPhone and realising that I can't take my WhatsApp history with me, I'm looking for the best iPhone alternative :( Thanks for the video! I really wanna switch from using android for years (and fed up with the lack of good taste) to an iPhone, but I'm sorry, Apple, its too much of a cost to give up my WhatsApp history. :(
Late to the party but man does that iPhone SE screen ever look dated. I get that it has great build quality and support but no way I could buy that phone with the intention of using it for the next 3-5 years. The 4a is the clear choice for me.
I'm still using an iPhone 8 Plus, so I don't know if OLED displays give me headaches or not, but 1 in 10 sounds like a pretty significant issue! That means millions of people can't use their phones without getting a headache. Seems like this needs to be addressed.
Which would you choose? Thanks for watching!

ios
It's just Apple. The end.
The audience on this channel is most iPhone users
@E1N 🤔 perhaps Typo , SE all the wast 😜
HeroBrine nice chump,
Actually the iOS and UI design.
Well I will wait until october when they release the other two pixels and choose accordingly. No need to choose at the moment
A point!
They'd be more expensive tho, so if u are on a tight budget just go ahead and buy the 4a
This video is for people who have a small budget and don’t care for more expensive flagships
The SE is a phone with many compromises while the 4a is the most balanced phone we’ve had in years.
If the Pixel 4a has a snapdragon 865 or 855 then that would be the game changer for me. As far as longevity and performance, it’s not the place to make compromises, and the iPhone SE 2020 was designed to last.
George OBSVNDZ even if it had the other processes the iPhone is still leaps and bounds ahead head of the Google pixels
This is the most underrated video of SE and pixel 4a comparison
"It also has haptic touch"... its.... its just a long press mate (with a fancy vibration). Every single phone has that.. They got a great marketing team when people think "haptic touch" is a feature after removing an actual great feature (3D Touch).
3d touch was annoying bro
I think I’m ok with either iOS or Android but tbh, I’ll definetly choose the pixel phone.
Right now I’m using a Xs Max
a new processor in the body of S9 would be amazing
Both are great. Comes down to preference.
I would choose the iPhone SE. Here’s why :
1) Support.
I agree, also after trading in my Iphone 7, I got new SE for $250. There is not a better smartphone on the planet I could buy today for $250 IMO.
jayh40515 Glad to hear.
From 13:15 to my eye Pixel photos look like the white balance is way off, most pics have a strong yellow/red tint.
Very nice video with all details 👌
exceptional comparison, thanks
As an IOS user I think the pixel 4a is the better choice over the iPhone se 2020 because your getting a lot more value for a lower price. Even if your Apple only, it's better to buy 2-3 year old iPhone flagship vs the se 2020.
Sure a better value no water resistance mediocre processor three years less software support and no wireless charging sounds like to me they took away too many features and people are getting screwed getting less while paying more that’s what I think about The Google pixel 4a however I do agree with you on the point that you could buy an older iPhone that’s a flag ship and it’s better than the Google pixel lineup 👍🏻 while I disagree on some things I do agree with the last few things you said about the order iPhone versus the pixel
i prefer SE because of the video capabilities. Try to record 4k video on pixel 4.... the phone will be very hot.
Nice comparison video which I enjoyed tremendously. I would choose the iPhone SE because of the video. But I appreciate what the Pixel 4a brings. Blessings on your day.
Glad you enjoyed It
I just ordered 2 pixels I wanted to try Apple but I think there is more value in the Google only because I've always used Android
I have the iPhone SE and the galaxy note 10 I like the iPhone but I’m kinda debating on to switching my iPhone to the google but still thinking !
I've been using iphone 6 for 3+ years the only reason i picked 4a over se is the screen size and design, come on its 2020 and don't want to use the same booring design for more coming years . Happy with my 4a :) (personal opinion) new comers definitely will love se ,if they are not heavy user and want to experience iphone eco system then se is good choice and budget friendly
exactly the video i need. thank you
Question -- Does being on a Windows 10 laptop have any bearing on choosing between an IOS iPhone like the SE 2020 and the Pixel 4A. For one thing, I would be transferring my videos and photos to the computer. Thanks.
No, you can do the same with either
It’s easier to transfer from android phones than it is iOS phones. I’m speaking from experience.
I head the stereo speakers on the Pixel 4a are both situated near the charging port :o
Nope. I know someone said that and videos, but that’s not correct. It comes out just like the pixel four or the iPhone
Speakers are on the bottom but not near the charging port. My 4a is 4 days old.
iPhone SE 2020 is garbage value compared to the Pixel 4a.
Pixel 4a is for business or for professional use whereas the SE is catered towards students.
@@domyac9392 Well if you're gonna compare these two phones, you need bring forth the usage perspectives.
Nice review 👍
Iphone SE all the way
one of the best comparisons
"This is Aaron, I'll see you next time."
👍
With the vp9 code for 4K on the SE, will that work with Netflix movies or Apple 4K movies to?
Such a thorough review, thank you! 🙏
It's probably gonna be a " if you're in the iOS ecosystem take the iPhone otherwise the pixel is a great option" which makes these videos kinda useless.
No, I get asked about this all the time. Most people at this price don’t care. They care more about capability and value for money.
@@zollotech exactly 👍
Solomon's Tech there’s really not much to learn though. Essentially, it comes down to preference and Aaron covers both phones thoroughly if you give the video a full watch.
Fantastic job..!!!👍
Hi, Which one has better sound quality from the earphone?
Iphone
Nice review, good job. But i can't understand why you don't show how those phones works like a phone. Size, speed camera, video but not calls and signal. At first we buy a phone...
I would go with the iPhone SE...I am "stuck" in the Apple Ecosystem so it is nice to have everything sync across the devices. I also like that if I have an issue with the product, I can go right to the Apple Store and get it resolved.
I have both, I like both. I prefer iOS to android as an OS but I like the pixel design more
love your vid sir
Unless you blast full brightness the SE gets way more than 5 hours. I can easily get 7-8 depending how I use it. Normally I see around 10% battery loss per hour (or less)
Most don’t. In my test on autobrightness which Apple recommends for the best battery, I usually would get 4.5-5. This is also what the average user sees if you search online. There are always exceptions of course.
I have to agree with him I also received about seven hours of battery life. If the battery life is such an issue there’s a case on Amazon for $19.99 it will give you a Battery Life close to the iPhone 11
I won’t settle for the Google pixel 4a it’s not my style
Let’s say I switch to android, will I be able to export my settings, pics, etc to the android phone from my iPhone?
I would get the 4a because it has an OLED display, better camera, bigger screen, double the storage, headphone jack, and better battery life. Oh and $349 vs $399
one thing to take into consideration is that in my experience older apple hardware tends to run like trash on new IOS versions, so IMO the difference in how long these phones are supported is irrelevant for me cause if I had an iphone now I'd stop updating it after like 3 major OS updates. But then maybe that's changed since 2014-2017 when I had an iPad.
I disagree. My IPhone 7 still runs smoothly in 2021 and that is 5 years of full life support. Android mid range phones after 5 years are so slow…
@@merkothebestone to be fair maybe my iPad suffered cause it only had 1 GB RAM
What about screen real estate?
Very good video,thx,from germany
My pick is 4a any day
Long battery 🔋 life
OLED
Best in Class Camera
Modern Design
Bigger display
SE has it’s Pros too. No hate on SE but 4a is clarity takes the cake
I'm here because after buying an iPhone and realising that I can't take my WhatsApp history with me, I'm looking for the best iPhone alternative :(
Thanks for the video! I really wanna switch from using android for years (and fed up with the lack of good taste) to an iPhone, but I'm sorry, Apple, its too much of a cost to give up my WhatsApp history. :(
This review is amazing
Late to the party but man does that iPhone SE screen ever look dated. I get that it has great build quality and support but no way I could buy that phone with the intention of using it for the next 3-5 years. The 4a is the clear choice for me.
I'm still using an iPhone 8 Plus, so I don't know if OLED displays give me headaches or not, but 1 in 10 sounds like a pretty significant issue! That means millions of people can't use their phones without getting a headache. Seems like this needs to be addressed.
Dual sim SC 2020 ??
iPhone 11 my main phone whilst 3XL my best spare phone
