Hi Melissa, I got a job for the role of a support worker via indeed app. I came to the UK on January 16th, this year. I will be resuming on Monday the 13th... just less than a month of arrival... I'm grateful to the Lord ❤️
Hello, I am currently applying for a Care Support worker in the Uk too. Please can you share any helpful information with me. 1. How long did the application process take before you moved? 2. Any tips on interview questions? 3. What’s the possibility of getting me the job as a care support worker. Thanks.
If you are poor in Nigeria, there is almost everything you want in the UK. Good public services, 24 hrs power supply, transport, broadband, a trusted legal system, great education, and jobs. The price you pay is to repress your soul a bit. Which means cold, isolation, very high cost living, and debt slavery. It can get depressing if you feel all you're doing is working and paying bills and taking care of people back home. So my advice is that you also need an escape plan so you can afford to live and be happy anywhere.
Now if Governments in Africa were dedicated to fixing up their countries and putting in place all the resources needed for its people, like the West have done, our people would not be in a hast to come to the UK for a better life, so ultimately the heads of African States are to blame for so many Africans leaving the continent, Africa needs it young people, to build and develop and to create opportunities for others coming up, this cannot be done while corruption at the top abuse power for their own means, whilst having the backing of the army to enforce dictatorship, remove all corrupted leaders and rewrite constitutions and give fair elections to the people without brutality and imprisonment, then just maybe we will see changes for the betterment of Africa and African peoples, home and abroad as well as those in the Caribbean wanting to relocate and return home from the dispora...
@kingsaint5759 this is a moral argument that most people share. In reality, our continent is too rich in resources for the powerful, global, special interest corporatist elite to allow us to develop into stable democracies with powerful economies. That is essentially increasing the cost of their raw materials and eating into their profits. The world as it is, is sweet for a minority of people who like to see it continue. You can always blame corruption but the real problem are the uneducated masses and the literate ignoramuses with 50 degrees alike .
Hi, I'm Scottish and I enjoy watching these videos, it's fascinating to learn about people's experiences. I just want to say that everyone faces the issue of job hunting, there's a lot of competition so if you are young with little work experience, or older but experienced in a sector that isn't hiring. There is more work training for young people nowadays, which is progress - they can get a small wage and experience. Life is a struggle financially for a lot of people in UK just now, so bear that in mind, be realistic, find out if you're work experience or training is in demand and if the wages will cover the cost of living. Job opportunities and housing costs vary a lot from area to area, as does public transport provision, so you may have to factor in long commutes and car ownership.
As long as you don't have " over the top" ambitions and expectations then you will achieve a lot. People should do away with any negative toxicity from Nigeria 🇳🇬 and once you can do that, you will survive. Nigerians are built to survive any conditions and you will survive it all, trust me. About visiting outside the UK 🇬🇧, I've been able to do a fair share of Europe and Newyork and I have enjoyed it as am very interested in travelling a lot and the UK is a place to be to do that.
Hi Abdul, I've seen your coment on another video and I'm aware you've lived in UK for years. I'll like to ask you as someone who is aware of the system. I know working is allowed for only 20 hours, will it be easy getting a job with my experience in software engineering- i intend moving on a student visa this year , that is if the tech nation visa I apply for is not successful
@Ifeoma N I wish you all the best in your visa application, am sure you will be able to get a job in your chosen field and make sure your university is closer to a big city as am not sure if you can work away from the office. Also, just believe in yourself that you will survive, with 20 hours a week it will be very tight depending on how much you've paid off from the fees, but remember "nothing is impossible and everything is possible" you just need to have the belief. I honestly wish you good luck and you will need it in abundance.

@@faithieflame4976 Hmmm, thank you, Faith.
You can get minimum wage jobs without any experience. You can work in fast-food restaurants, care homes and cleaning jobs without work experience. Most supermarkets ask for past experience as a customer assistant though.
@@starlightgirl8863 Okay, thank you!
Omo!! Bring food and not clothes… this one show me pepper!!!😢😢
I agree with you o
Please are clothes cheaper over there?
Your energy is great
Thanks so much
Hi Melissa.
This is a nice video. Can you pls do another video asking the young unmarried girls how they manage to get Visa and relocate to UK. Thank you
I doubt they would be willing to share, it’s quite personal
@@MelissaOti only through school I feel
Through study visa
I enjoyed watching. Mics can disappoint sha
Thanks dear, asin eh!!!
I want to study in the UK because of this ASSU strike here in Nigeria but how can I afford it 😩 imagination won keee me 😢
It’s quite expensive my dear
After three years you might want to see the sun again -- I would miss it if I came back
True
thank you
I spotted someone on Facebook saying it’s easy and I laughed. He even said he makes up to £6k a month and I laughed again…
But people actually make more than £6k monthly in the UK naw
The best thing is that when you don't like it u have a choice to move back to your country
Of course
Welldone
First here oo
welcome hun
Sorry, there's no way you can ever get used to the cold. The white people who were born here are still feeling very cold like me and you. Anyways, am almost 20 years in Europe and am still feeling the cold like no man's business 🙂
wow! No hope for me lol
Like no man business 😂😂😂😂
@@okochathankgod3189 🤣🤣
@@MelissaOti The only hope for you dear is to wear the right clothes cos there's actually no bad weather 😅
For our country, we still get seasons too na 😅 Harmattan season, rain season etc 🤣
The third person interviewed was a scam. She spoilt naija first and then alluded to the fact that UK is hard. No accomodation, not easy to get jobs. But she sweet mouthed at the beginning
Who no go, no know. 🤗🤗🤗
True
💯 for you ma
Thanks dear
Melissa come yo Scotland, I'll be your host. Travel o!
I will try my dear😂😂
Great Job! 😇
Thanks so much

1 mic costs £200, that’s over #180k, i’m sure it’s no big deal to you so do the needful.
They don't also have lots of jobs, so much stuff about UK is still in the colonial days
Colonial days 😅😂😅 please elaborate thx
How can contact you?

I discovered something ..

Pls how do we go about getting the experience upfront before landing ..
Am just trying to be prepared.. 😢
Of course it’s not possible to get a UK experience from Nigeria 😂
When we get there, we'll find our way around it.
Find organizations you can volunteer for when you arrive uk
@@MelissaOti very possible,. I worked as a UK tax accountant here in Nigeria. God brings opportunities for his glory. Thanks
@@christianahmishael7474 You probably should share with them how you did it because it seems so impossible
what's the name of the college and what city?
University of Huddersfield
Just came into the UK and I must tell you. If you don’t work. It’s finished for you. Housing is quite hard and expensive. I also couldn’t get a job as a care worker because I don’t have a UK driving license. It almost feels like I wasted my time and money doing a training in Nigeria. I got a factory job. It’s better than nothing but the work hours are hectic 🥲 6am -4pm. £10 per hour. Please @melisa Oti how did you get the support worker job
Normal way, via indeed. Are you seeking a visa sponsorship support job?
@@MelissaOti I have been applying the normal way. Through indeed and other job sites. I didn’t know it would take so long and the conditions would be difficult. That’s the way it is in Plymouth I don’t know about other cities. I came to the uk on a dependent visa, so I’m looking for a care work job so that I can improve my chances of switching to a skilled worker visa.
@@olaidearogunjo8250 Check Care Mark, or Blue bird. They offer visa sponsorship to those within the UK. All the best
@@olaidearogunjo8250 Hello Olaide, I'm also coming to Plymouth this December, can you please share more insights about the job situation in Plymouth? Thank you
I'm in the UK, came in 2weeks ago. It's with mix feelings jare.

If that place is hard there why not come back to Nigeria……… y’all shouldn’t discourage people that want to come over there like me😒😒😒😒
If you feel discouraged by this video then you’re not ready.
Am not discouraged by the video….. you should get my point tho I only commented base on what they said.
@@StarWilliams1996 they're not discouraging anyone. They're only telling it as it is. It's up to you to make your own choice
Nigeria stop talking bad about ur country
At what point in this video did we speak bad about Nigeria or you watched this video from the back of your phone ?
Ma pls how can I get a UK job from here in Nigeria
