  • In this video I install two unique custom leather interiors in my Jeep Wrangler. I'll take you on a tour of the Katzkin facility and show you how it's made, we'll sit down with one of the designers and get some tip from him and then get them install and share with you the final product. #custominterior #jeepinterior #katzkin
    Please be sure to mention TrailRecon if you order seats from Katzkin and they will donate $100 to Team Rubicon for every order.

    Brad thank you for “taking us along”. These look like a viable alternative to the factory leather choices.

    Obviously this is a sponsored deal but I wish when people do reviews etc they would discuss the price of the options. Yes he mentioned about the same cost as wheels and tires but that's a big variance

      I didn't either and it's a pretty cool (pun intended) feature. It's a little pricey, but nice on those hot days.

      @@TrailRecon Can you feel it pretty well? I've been in some ventilated seats where you can't feel it at all and then some that felt like I was sitting on a box fan. My OEM seat heat is pretty much nonexistent so...

    I honestly love the stock JK cloth seats. My last jk had leather, and it was in rough shape after 2 years. This is a cool upgrade for those leather folks though.

    Any insights on whether the extra 1/2” of padding Katzkin uses adds enough comfort. Our Willys is my wife’s daily driver and our RV’s toad. The seats are not comfortable for longer drives. We are upgrading to Katzkin and wondering if more padding is necessary.

  • @BennyTygohome

    Question about the"cooling" and heating option from katskin, if the JL already had heated "cold weather" seats, did katskin disable that when adding their own heated/cooling elements with their covers? Or does katskin wiring harness tie into jeeps cold weather package somehow?
    In other words, if ordering a new jeep JL and if also planning to then order katskin cooling/heated elements with their skins, would it make better sense to omit the factory cold weather package if katskin will be bypassing it?

    • @KansasSlim64
      @KansasSlim64 3 роки тому +1

      Whatever they do within the heated seats, you’d still have heated seats. The greatest loss if you dumped the cold weather package in my opinion would be the heated steering wheel. My wife’s Cherokee has it, plus some rentals I’ve had. The heated wheel is the bomb! So be careful what you ask for…

    • @TrailRecon
      @TrailRecon  3 роки тому +1

      The heated seats are still tied into the oem wire harness, so no extra switches. I was told that they are not able to do cooling in all vehicle and the included the JL, otherwise I wold have opted for them.

    Amazing how things change, in the 70's i worked in a leather factory, the highest job (other than designer) was the Cutter. - during this video i never saw a cutter, sewers yes other than that machines, laborers but machinery took the other jobs. On the plus side you have a US Factory - the factory i worked at was moved south then to the far east.

    Does adding the Katzkin guarantee the OEM & DoT level of seat airbag reliability? Since Wranglers still don't have side airbags, the seat airbags are a very critical safety system in these vehicles. My understanding is that OEM seats have a very specific method of sewing the seams for proper force & speed of bag deployment and tested to work properly.

    • @dshayter
      @dshayter 2 роки тому

      Hello! Katzkin's product is engineered with the same materials as the OEMs use to ensure that original safety and OCS systems work just like factory. We also do airbag testing to ensure that.
