That’s a good idea. I would also recommend NOT removing the top. Not worth the effort and you’ll never get it back on like the factory did. I regret taking mine off.
Michael 0788 Kinda wished that they also offered a full size Short whee based F series Bronco again like the 2nd-5th generation full size bronco did maybe will get one in the future again.
Nothing at all wrong with Caleb's Bronco here, but I wish now, that I could have kept my 1975 Bronco in XLT Ranger trim package with that wonderful 302 VB. It was a bronze color with while top and in the day, sure looked great!
@@ipdjbt No. All Ford, GM, Chrysler and foreign cars/light trucks I know heat the coolant. It is referred to as a block heater because the water transfers the heat to the block and that in turn heats the oil, heads, and combustion chamber.
I enjoy the series talking with real owners about their vehicles. The Bronco has been an American legend in its own right in the car industry. Love the 1970s models.
I have a 1995 F150 4x4 5 speed 302 V8 that I bought used in October 1995. Recent changes were 4.56 gears, 33” BFGs, leveling kit up front, and Auburn Gear locker both front and back. It still looks very much like stock, but so much more capable now. I took it up Sand Hollow sand dunes a few weeks ago, then to Toquerville Falls after that. It did great. Did not have to call Matt’s Off-road Recovery, which was my only reason for visiting that area 😃
I had an 89 with a straight six and I loved it. I also have a 74 with a 351W for wheeling in CO. I reserved a Limited Edition 2021 Bronco late last night, the dealer already called me about the options that I want. I can't wait.
The Green is called Pacific Green, I had a 96 F150 the same color with a silver two-tone. It is honestly the best looking green I have ever seen on any car or truck.
My wife and I have hundreds of thousands of miles of experience in 4WD vehicles - mostly in Utah. Never a Bronco but it was on our short list of possibilities back in the day. My advice: Spend your time driving your Bronco in the back country to gain experience about capabilities and wheel placement. It will be time better spent than studying and installing modifications. It is amazing where one of those can go with a world-class driver behind the wheel. One exception: If you ARE going to invest in a modification, replace the limited slip with a locking differential (differential locker). That will allow you to retain the looks of that beautiful truck. And I don't think you can do better than the BFGs.
I owned one with the 351. The 351 was about 210 hp. Yeah, that's sure some "brio" alrighty. The 302 was 199 hp. The difference is in torque. 302 = 270 ft-pound, 351 = 328 ft-pounds.
Ya it’s weird I have owned both and the 351 was a dog compared to the 302 but it was carbureted maybe the reason why lol seemed to spin up faster then the laggy 351 did
My 1980 had the 302 carburetor motor with the v6 auto..3.50 gear ratio and manual hubs...put a 2inch lift and tried 34 inch tires and ended up with 33s being the sweet spot with that gear/tire combo...16 to 18 mpg city..up to 22 highway if you didnt hot dog it and were driving downwind..lol
I had a 94' with a 351. My neighbor had the same vehicle but a 302. I got better gas mileage and pulled the hills better with my 3300# boat as well. He had to keep his foot into it, I didn't.

My brother had a 96 bronco with a front bench seat and vinyl flooring. It was my favorite vehicle ever. I was most fascinated with the springs that hold the hood up!
True, while they still weren't ideal for strength vs good aftermarket ones. They still held up fine if people did actual bearing and hub packs like they should have instead of running them till the grease was tar.
Awesome, I have this Exact same Bronco except it’s a 1992 and it’s all stock. I only changed a few things like adding a 6” lift, 35” BFG’s, and a replacement grill guard bumper. Got it as my high school truck and still have it. Love this thing been a Bronco nut since I was a kid. It runs better now than when I got it back in ‘06.
Love the truck. This is my favorite generation of Ford trucks. Ran a 93 F250 460 up until last year. Gonna be looking for another F250 or 350 with the 7.3 powerstroke after Christmas.
block heater usually heats the coolant not the oil. could be a sump heater. id bet its just an element that goes in a freeze plug hole on the block though
Beautiful truck, I have always been a fan of these. When I was a kid a person who lived down the road from me had one. As a young kid I didn't remember the makes and models of most cars, but I remembered this one due to the tire cover with a horse on the back.
Bought my Red sport Bronco back in 98, 19,000 miles on it at time of purchase, currently has 367,000 miles on it. Runs smooth never had to change the head gasket. It's on the third radiator but other than that no major mechanical issues. Just wish they could of done a better quality made interior the plastics back then were terrible. Il never sell it.
Nice, I have a ‘95 in white. I too flew to pick it up and drive back. Bought it from a great dealership in Livermore CA, they shipped it to Blaine Washington and my son and I picked it up there!! Love it!
I love the Bronco II. I’d love to find one in good shape... especially one with the 80’s/90’s Eddie Bauer package with the pine trees on the seat upholstery and all that... awesome package.
I had a white '93 XLT with a 4" lift with 33" Duratracs. I thought that was the perfect set up. Could have gone with 35's and a 6" lift but I didn't think it looked as good. Downside was I had the 302 with 234K miles. I live in the high desert and would remove the roof one Memorial Day and not put it back on until Labor Day. It was a fun truck for what it was.

Very Nice truck! Had a 96 with the 5.8 ... lifted just 2” with 33” BFG KO2’s. Awesome off road. And very cool with the top removed; it’s heavy, but I was able to remove it by myself with a little forethought and pre-planing 😎 still miss that truck.

I’ve got a 96 Eddie Bauer bronco with the 351 too, identical except maroon and auto hubs. completely factory and every thing on it works perfectly. Never been a ford guy but I love the thing.
A lot of older vehicles get good or better mileage, my 03 7.3 got 18.3mpg rolling 75-85 all the way from Sacramento to Abilene TX and back. With the A/C on the whole trip. My 93 7.3IDI gets the same. Most newer diesel won’t because they use fuel to regen the exhaust. How’s that better for the environment?
Modern vehicles are also heavier and more power. Tundras and F150s have nearly double the usable power, and they pushing nearly 3 tons of weight. So, if your MPG is no worse, then that's a actually a massive improvement in efficiency.
I've owned two FS Broncos. An '85 EB back in the 90s and an '87 XLT two years ago. The '85 was a fun vehicle. The '87 was a monster. I traded IT work with a rancher. It had custom bumpers with tire carrier and front winch. The best part about it was the drive-train. It had the I-6 and 4-speed. Only had 31" tires on it and a rear limited slip, but it was a mountain goat. I was (still am) sad that I had to sell it.
4.9 300cid inline 6, 5.0 302, 5.8 351. 5 speeds are fun! 1980 to 1986 are cheaper but 87 to 91 are affordable, the old ones had 4 speeds with carburetors, no EFI! 92 to 96 are nicer. 78 to 79 are awesome
Had 2. An 86 XLT and a 93 XLT. 302 in the 86, 351 in the 93. 302 was out of a 00' explorer. Ran awesome. 351 had punch out of the hole but ran out of steam at 4000ish rpm. I still think the exhaust is the biggest cork in these trucks. My 86 had shorty headers and no cats. Made a huge difference. Loved them both, but i miss my 86 the most.
Had a 86 Eddie Bauer full size. It had a 302 it was AWESOME. I'm sorry I ever got rid of it. It pulled great and 4x4 worked great. I live on the east coast so it was good for where I lived terrain wise.
My uncle has a white 96 Bronco that he’s had for quite sometime. He’s been a mechanic for almost his whole life and keeps it mint. I think he’ll keep it forever.
Paid $2900 for a really good 94 when I was living in CO back in 2009. No rust but then I moved out east and a little rust appeared over the rear fender wells. Damn I miss it but I don't miss 13mpg, lol. Hopefully the 6g gets something better.
I had a 79 with a 4" lift, total rust bucket. I still loved it for the year I had it.. my 351M had no power, my F-100 I traded for it had a 351W that was a beast.
Looks like my '95 F150 xlt 4x4 same forest green, but with teal under trim paint. Love the look! Everything on my truck is stock, including the old cassette player!
I got a '96 4x4 XLT, with all leather, 5.8 EFI, on a 2" lift and 30" wheels, in baby blue, all steel horizontal front grill instead of that plastic chrome, power windows n doors, and nice exhaust. I would never leave it stock, it's not enough truck stock. Girls LOVEEE hotboxing in it, they think it's so big and nice ;)
In El Paso County by the old farms you will find a lot of old broncos, blazers, f150, 250, silverados, cheyennes, jimmys. All well kept and stock. Almost every house has one chilling under a tree or in the backyard.
It has 141000 miles on it, had a bunch of service done to it, a lot of parts replaced. The only major issues were battery needed changed, needed cleaned bad, and then an oil change. Has Some rust on the fenders and rocker panels but other than that it’s solid
Last week I picked up a 1993 XLT Lariat , power windows , power seats, 302 motor, I paid $700 it’s gonna need a lot of work ! But it runs , just passed smog (California thing) and it’s gonna be a long time project
4:20 I see that Don't Lose Sight by itsjusta6 decal on the window. Cool to see the unplanned placement of one group's brand on another group's channel.
Swapping the heads, intake, TB Assy, and exhaust systems woke mine up. Don't forget to upgrade your injectors to 19lb explorer EV3 injectors. They are drop in. Then look up the sixlitre timing bump. You'll have gobs of torque and your mileage will improve a bit.
CALEB - I’ve dealt with TTB Fords for years. Best way to mitigate tire wear is front tires filled to maximum psi, 5000 mile tire rotations, and every third/fourth tire rotation, you have them dismount the tires and re-mount them with the outer sidewall rotated to the inside. The max fill rounds out the tire carcass and minimizes the outer tread edge wear throughout the suspension travel, when the camber oscillates drastically.
Im building an 86 Bronco. 347 stroked 5.0 roller. Has a trick flow twisted wedge top end kit. Its roughly 500HP Its my daily. Its been my daily for 4 years now. I bought mine for 3k. In the same condition. I was offered 15k as is. The great thing about these trucks is. Modified or stock. They have a huge following. And retain their value either way. My advice would be. Keep it! You’ll never find a compatible replacement.
sweet ride. i’m a blazer guy, l have had three. my current one is an 89. i always liked the bronco and the later ones had beautiful interiors. the k5’s have plain interiors and always looked dated.
The blazer was my child hood dream truck. I bought a 1985 when i turned 23 and it was the biggest pill of junk. The steering column broke. It got stuck anytime i try to go off road and on the way to a fire call one night the motor died and left me on the side of the road just two years later. Very heart broken that my dream truck was useless. In 1994 I found a 1990 bronco thought i would give it a try and it has been the best vehicle i have ever owned. It has taken me on thousands of fire calls. Saved me and many others lives literally. It is a off road best. It has 330,000 miles on it today and i still drive it. Its not my daly but it will stay in my family until the day i die.
Seattle here. I have the exact same vehicle. Similar condition. This is Bronco #3 for me. Not taking the top off this one because it too hard to get sealed back up. I see Kaleb is also missing the elusive rear cargo cover. I've seen them go for hundreds on ebay. For the record O.J.'s Bronco (actually AC Cowling's) was a 93'. 96' is the only year that got an OBD2. 👍🏾
They are only stock once. The '96 is the only Bronco with OBD II and that 5.8 L (or 351) is set up for roller bearings, in the future. These engines last because they are detuned. The breathing is restricted, so increased air flow heads really wake these engines up. But do not mess with a K&N style oiled intake, because it pollutes the Mass Air Sensor. Leave that stock. The E4OD transmissions were much improved by 1996, but they are further strengthened from billet torque converters.
Bro that’s my dream since I’ve seen them coming out new ! I’ve got two Bumpside Broncos made in Brazil 🇧🇷 but those last model ones especially 351 5.8 V8 Eddie Bauer are something else ❤. I love this video congratulations from Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺
I love them old Broncos. I had a 1996 F150 same color with tan 2 tone. 351 Eddie Bauer edition. Was not a big fan of the color, But hands down the best truck I have had yet. Traded it in with 120k miles and only problem I had was the U joints went around 40k miles. Common on Fords. The 90s trucks were built very well.
The Bronco II gets way too much hate. I personally LOVE them, i learned to drive on one and use one to get to school for years. And they are simple to use/work on and parts compatibility with Rangers is second to none. My Dream is to get one and restore it to make it a daily driver.
Great truck. keep as stock as you can. it will be worth more in the future. I am fixing a 1994 F 250 heavy duty. They are easy to work on and not a complete electrical nightmare like the new ones. Enjoy.
These older trucks are amazing because of that. That's why I love that Toyota still builds the 70 series Land Cruiser so you can get an insanely durable and easy to work on truck.
The manual hubs are worth a few mpg. I had a 78 C20 4x4 400 automatic with auto transfer case. It got 8 mpg. I advanced the cam 4', headers, duel exhaust with turbos, recurve kit in the dist, manual hubs, and a manual kit in the transfer case all yielded 4 mpg. For 12 mpg it was money well spent. My new ride is a 95 Grand Cherokee 4.0 that is getting 13/18. But they want 1500 bucks for a manual hub kit. Yikes! That's 20% of what it took to completely rebuild the drive train, and not worth it to me for 1 mpg or 2.
Keep it stock, it will be worth more that way, and you are “preserving” it for the future
Pretty good idea
That’s a good idea. I would also recommend NOT removing the top. Not worth the effort and you’ll never get it back on like the factory did. I regret taking mine off.
Preserve it so some guy in the future can radius cut the fenders and throw boggers on it in 30 years?
Preserve and keep it for sentimental value, and of course the value will shoot up
Marco Jasso but it looks so cool without the top
This unit is so well kept that it must remain stock at least the exteriors. Very nice truck.
I still love this model bronco.
The new Bronco is great but this looks more like what I would call the iconic bronco.

That was a block heater cord , connected to an element that warms up the coolant , not the oil , sorry eh .

it could be either.

It had custom bumpers with tire carrier and front winch. The best part about it was the drive-train. It had the I-6 and 4-speed. Only had 31" tires on it and a rear limited slip, but it was a mountain goat. I was (still am) sad that I had to sell it.
Had a 86 bronco 2 and currently a 90 bronco with 351. I have enjoyed both.
Had a '86
Same colours, same trim. But with the 302.
Done the same mods. Warn hubs
33".
Loved that truck. Wish I had kept it.
Keep it stock, preserve it.
Had a 86 Eddie Bauer full size. It had a 302 it was AWESOME. I'm sorry I ever got rid of it. It pulled great and 4x4 worked great. I live on the east coast so it was good for where I lived terrain wise.
I loved my 1981 Bronco. I could take off the top in 10 minutes.
Glad to see people are out and about meeting people in person again.
My uncle has a white 96 Bronco that he’s had for quite sometime. He’s been a mechanic for almost his whole life and keeps it mint. I think he’ll keep it forever.
As a chevy guy, I always thought those broncos where soo freakin nice.
Paid $2900 for a really good 94 when I was living in CO back in 2009. No rust but then I moved out east and a little rust appeared over the rear fender wells. Damn I miss it but I don't miss 13mpg, lol. Hopefully the 6g gets something better.
I had a 79 XLT Ranger an 82, 92,95 Eddie Bauer Bronco and I wish I could get one again. My most favorite vehicles of all time.
Can’t stand when he ask questions he already knows the answer to.
I owned the same Bronco! I sold it with over 200k miles still going strong. I changed out the hubs as well. 😀🔥👍🇺🇸
I bought a 1995 XLT. The other day. I am in love with it.
Have a '94 with a 351W in it, bought it from my dad for $2500. I love the thing, has a good amount of power for a truck it's size.
I just bought a 94 bronco A few days back and I love it
It has 141000 miles on it, had a bunch of service done to it, a lot of parts replaced. The only major issues were battery needed changed, needed cleaned bad, and then an oil change. Has Some rust on the fenders and rocker panels but other than that it’s solid
Alex W. How much was it
Last week I picked up a 1993 XLT Lariat , power windows , power seats, 302 motor, I paid $700 it’s gonna need a lot of work ! But it runs , just passed smog (California thing) and it’s gonna be a long time project
Glad to see Nathan more lately in TFL videos. I've missed him for sure.
4:20 I see that Don't Lose Sight by itsjusta6 decal on the window. Cool to see the unplanned placement of one group's brand on another group's channel.
I like it. Would love to own one.
The 5-speed manual was available, but not on the larger engine (i.e., 5.8L). With the 5.8L (351), your only option was the automatic.
I've had my 91 for almost 30 years. Love it.
My dream truck is this exact bronco with the white and tan paint. I’m hoping they don’t go up in value too much until I can get one
we LOVE our 1995 Bronco!!!
Its roughly 500HP
Its my daily.
I have a 90 EB fuel injected 302 that runs great, burns no oil, 11 and 17 mi gal... love it
sweet ride. i’m a blazer guy, l have had three. my current one is an 89. i always liked the bronco and the later ones had beautiful interiors. the k5’s have plain interiors and always looked dated.
I have a 96 bronco with 231k and runs as good as a new truck easy! With the 5.8 351 and you can get way over 300k just have good maintenance
I had a fully loaded '95 eggshell white Eddie Bauer. I got about 14 mpg. Keep it stock, bro. But definitely upgrade the brakes.
To be honest, this is my absolute favourite Bronco model. The 2021 is nice, but i love a big box and small wheels like this 96.
My grandfather had a 1990 Eddie bower bronco with only 30,000 miles on it. Everything is original. Looks brand new!
As referring the Bronco II, my 84 B2 rolled June 14. 1991 & I’ve been paralyzed ever since. No one told me they were tippy. 😢
@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 do you have a link to share for the 70's Toyota? I would like to check it out. Thanks
I'm fortunate to have a forest green Bronco of the same year myself. Not an EB Edition, but an XLT is good for me.
lol, please, 12 mpg in the mountains...Anyone that had a 351 will laugh at that.
Mine got 10mpg at all times. Wide open throttle or driving like a grandma.
Exactly my thought lmao
On the downhill.
I have a white 95 bronco also very mint and all my buddies say "ohh look it's OJ hide yah wifes" 🤣
