I love this version of Zhao. It shows off how much of a snake he was and plays down the brute force. Of course, having an actor from Lost playing him helps a lot too lol
Cartoon Zhao was too 1 dimensional for live action - it would have gotten boring quickly. Ken Leung’s Commander Zhao is as you say, a snake, and totally entertaining to watch.
1) Flirting is an art. A martial art. 2) When given a chance to show Daniel Dae Kim's face, *you show Daniel Dae Kim's face.* Daddy is hot. Pun intended.
As much as this is a reinterpretation of the original and it definitely has it's faults, I rlly like this adaptation. In my opinion it does justice to the OG series and it's characters and the story as a whole. And I'm very sure they can improve for season 2 and 3. Thankfully netflix has given them the greenlight. It would have sucked to not have this story completed.
I actually quite like the scene between Avatar Kyoshi and Aang, especially when she took over Aang's body, it's different to the animated version because it was Avatar Roku who did that. the changes is okay for me
I was so nervous goimg into this and after ep 2 i was so insanely happy, its like a perfect cover of a song, there are changes but i feel like they really did their due diligence and theres a clear intention to get every significant moment correct in terms of the overall theme and made sure if there were logistical things for live action that had to change, theh didnt effect it still feeling like Avatar. And i think so far they have captured the most important aspects of every character completely. The cast and writers and direction clearly have HUGE RESPECT to the original show and im so happy theyre getting this so right while still adding parts that are accurate to the lore but never even in the original. It feels like the whole cast and crew are throwig everything they have into, whats truly one of my favorite series ever in terms of the underlying theme, like what the force actually represents in star wars... the sequels threw the most crucial theme away in favor of aesthetic, this new avatar is visually amazing but still preserves and even amplifies the what the avatar represents and i couldnt be more happy about...its so awesome to see other true fans like you guys recognize that.
Yeah you’ll see, the Iroh & Zuko moments later on are some of my favorite parts. I really enjoyed this season, I have nitpicks and things that I hope are better in season 2, but overall I really liked it. They had some really great moments and some parts that really expanded the story in great ways. I’m looking forward to next season.
To be honest I keep coming back to this channel because of two things the first is I knew you from your old Channel ‘WEIGHT OF CINEMA‘ and the second is there are few channels that are willing to say the truth about Netflix’s live action and you are the best so far Looking forward to more honest reviews
Was looking around for additional reactions and found your channel. Gave you a like and a sub, and now a comment 😀You guys are so cute! I'll share my opinion without spoilers so you know what to expect conceptually. Episode 1 was a B, episode 2 a B+. The series basically is two mountains with a valley - good at the beginning, bad in the middle, and good at the end. The worst episode according to most fans (including myself) is episode 5. I personally also disliked episode 4 because of changes they made to a character that I love. Best episodes are 6, 7, and 8. Episode 6 follows a story very very close to the cartoon, and is really good. Episode 8 kicked ass! Overall for me the series ranks about 7 out of 10, my best friend ranks it a 6 out of 10. (the movie which shall not be named would be a 1 out of 10). I noticed that upon a second watch some of the changes really grew on me and made more sense. My first watch was more sentimental and emotional because it brought out the "why the hell did they change that?" opinions. But on a second watch things made more sense and the series became more enjoyable. I can't wait for season 2! The showrunners said they will be taking fan criticisms into account when putting together season 2.
sort of - but not in the way conveyed here. in the original suki simply tries to come off tough because sokka acts as though they are not as good as he is because he is a guy. suki doesn't really seem interested in sokka until the end of the episode, whereas in this (especially in the boomarang scene) suki is portrayed ss kind of awkward, not knowing how to interact with someone she has a crush on
And that Kyoshi part was not advised she literally yelling and shouting at him where’s in the original show all the avatar’s even had a very subtle way of giving him gentle advice and they had a very beautiful phrase of ending their advice like 'I offer you this wisdom Aang‘

Kyoshi did take over Aangs body in Avatar Day...

Nooooo. Even in the cartoon, Suki was the one to show interest in Sokka, not the other way around.
