Wonderful to hear that the father and son does this together, my son and I do farming together. So I can appreciate what they have and are doing together! Thanks
Didnt restore any with my dad unfortunately but some of my earliest memorys are riding on a john deere my dad owned , forget the model but it was diesel. It was a great experience that started my journey.
I got a 1981 212 model. Took the deck off when I installed the plow blade. Mine is all manual. I have to run the tractor in high gear with the veryator, hope that's spelled wright, set to high. Max speed, to get the snow to roll off the blade. They are cool looking tractor's.
Great video. I have basically the same relationship with my son. We have a 1970 JD 140H3. Great tractor. Has a mowing deck and #49 snow thrower. We added a hydraulic operated top chute deflector. It’s operated off the outside hydraulic lever. As you would know, but the 1968 model of the 140 had a Kohler K301 12 hp engine. The only year for that. We only have one JD garden tractor, but have 10 other brand garden tractors in out collection. All in their working clothes. But one is painted up a bit. A 1982 Case 446 with snow caster.
Those tractors that have different colored hoods and seats. Some of those were blue, yellow, and red. The frames were white. "Patio" series. Rare and collectable.
They are john deere 110-140 lawn tractors that were white but had difficulty colored hoods( red, blue, yellow, orange). They didn’t sell very well so many were painted over with green and yellow. Making them a rare a cool collectible tractor. I personally own a yellow one and currently restoring it. They are cool little machines!
It was an attempt to make the John Deere attractive to women customers that they hoped would like a tractor with colors they could customize with in limits of the fender and hood color combos that is . As said they did sell well at the time . Dealers repainted them and moved they out the door with their male customers as traditional JD's
