lol. So true. It's like he's teaching the absolute basics of life "So it's not a good idea to put your hand in the fire....it will burn. Yes...and that won't be pleasant." *big smile*
Yasser is not only a grandmaster. He is an outstanding explaining grandmaster. With his lessons I dramatically improved my strategy. Yasser, a rookie says I love you !
But he is speaking extremely slowly, building too long and sophisticated phrases. All this video could last around 15 minutes if spoken in normal tempo and much less of unnesessary phrases
My first reaction upon watching this lecture was that he talked way too slowly and his points were too simple. But then I realize that that is precisely what makes him such a singularly effective chess educator, even for non-beginners. Will definitely be watching more of his lessons!
As a novice player, holy crap did I learn a lot watching this. I'll probably forget 80% of it right away and have to watch again, but still. This stuff is golden.
I wanna fall asleep listening to this guy. I've seen his games, I knew his face, but I never heard him speak. Love with his voice and demeanour. What a nice man, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Yasser Seirawan is without doubt one of the greatest. he did did not win any world championship, but he always competed with the best of every generation. we are very lucky to have his classes, such good quality content.
Great educator, doesn't leave any thing hanging in your mind. Wish I had this stuff when i was a little younger! Came from a poor background, never had the chance to play agains't anyone at chess (in the early 90s). Rediscovered chess during the pandemic. I'm glad I did.
Very informative lecture, especially the point about dismantling white's position after the move f3 with pawn to d5. Previously I would find myself stumped when facing this move since whites center appears so solid.
I don't understand why he didn't talk about getting the light square bishop out sooner for white !?! so you can go for that quick kingside castle for white..
The video ended too soon unfortunately. The critical line after 9...d5 is the one we missed: 10. Bxd5 Nxd5; 11. ed Nb4; 12. Nde2, although black has been scoring fairly well in this lately after 12...e6.
It's really important to go through the motions to show them the possibilities without discouraging engagement. I agree completely, that if he did mock them then no one would give suggestions (I know I wouldn't)
Warning: At 34:28, You can't follow that move up with a4... because then it goes Nxc6, bxc6, Nxb6... and then anything black does is trouble. You have to go Nxd5 asap instead of a4 to stop the eventual Nxb6 protected by the discovered protection of the e3 bishop. IMPORTANT: I am not posting to this to sound like I know much about chess. I don't, and Yasser is my hero. I would kill to get one of my Winning Chess books signed by him. I just happened to have lichess open alongside this video and this inaccuracy reared its ugly head. It doesn't change the value of this video, though. As always, Yasser is teaching us principles and chess thinking. He's sooooo awesome!!!! I just figured I'd make a note of this for anyone watching.
i was playing chess and i played some random opening moves and it said hyperaccelerated dragon pterodactyle something and i just had to find out what i had just done.
He talks to me like I'm a slow child, and I love it

@Jonas Jakob no, no1 cares about insta. this is chess video get lost man.
He talks to me like I'm slow and a child. I'm no child however.
@Jonas Jakob ha, imagine having a girlfriend. Loser
This guy has got to be the sweetest, cheeriest Grandmaster I've ever seen.
until you've got him in front of a chess board ... unless he is gonna cheering you with his soothing voice, while he is demolishing all your defense.
I had him in front of a chess board. He killed me. :D
@piggypigpig great concept for a porno movie
Yeah baby!
The Bob Ross of chess.
Yasser = The Bob Ross of Chess
No, Bob Ross the Yasser of painting

When he first said accelerated dragon I had the Bob Ross of Chess Vibes
he’s the Mr Rogers of Chess.
Love the way he says "I'm a piece up" and rubs his hands while grinning :D
Yasser is not only a grandmaster. He is an outstanding explaining grandmaster. With his lessons I dramatically improved my strategy. Yasser, a rookie says I love you !
Where can you find his lessons other than on UA-cam ? He's incredible.
I know! I Know! So true!
Love his simple style of teaching that builds up to a complex point by the end.
Yasser's voice is so soothing.... I really like learning from him.
yoo he's the nicest guy. imagine eating dinner with this guy! it would be nothing but a thoroughly pleasant evening!!!!!!!!!
Me I just imagine someone breaking into his house what he would do
But he is speaking extremely slowly, building too long and sophisticated phrases. All this video could last around 15 minutes if spoken in normal tempo and much less of unnesessary phrases
This. He speaks sooooo sloooowly I end up just doing chess problems in my mind and losing focus on what he is saying.
Won't you please... be.. my neighbor?
By any reckoning, this guy is a terrific communicator.
My first reaction upon watching this lecture was that he talked way too slowly and his points were too simple. But then I realize that that is precisely what makes him such a singularly effective chess educator, even for non-beginners. Will definitely be watching more of his lessons!
Yasser is a true gentleman, chess scholar and saint in a world of fallen angels!! What a pleasure it was to discover him on UA-cam!!😇

Take notes or practice it over by playing various variations against yourself atleast that has helped me to remeber gl

Best teacher ever don't change your style! Great lecture
Wow, what an elegant Grandmaster. I can listen to him whole day. He teaches in such a calm and dignified way, beginners will improve in no time.
Everything is so neat and clean when it is explained by Mr Seirawan! Thanks for all these wonderful videos
Yasser makes me want to become not only a better chess player, but a better person. This guy changes a flat tire in the rain and he's still smiling.
He is filled with so much joy to talk about chess. What a wonderful gift to the world
It's almost asmr how relaxing sir Yasser's voice is.
Yasser explains the opening so beautifully. Truly an amazing teacher. Thanks.

THIS should be in Unintentional ASMR
Great lecturer. Sense of humour combined with very useful information explaining why moves are made clearly without excessive complications.
Thank you so much for putting up these videos!! Yasser is my favorite!!
Yasser's got the best lectures. He really does.
Wow, this was really deep and great analysis! Thank you Yasser!
At 12:35 I thought Yassir Seirawan was going to fly away.
I just learned an opening called "the accelerated dragon" from the Mr. Rodgers of chess. It's a great day in the neighborhood.
I'm getting into the hyper dragon and this is gold. Every move is explained slowly. So good.
what a beautiful lecture truly an eloquent and highly effective teacher also very fun to listen to! thx!!:)
Excellent teaching! I’m sold on Yasser! Well done sir!
Thanks Yassir for enhancing my understanding and analytical skills regarding positions especially in the combative sicilians!!!!
Always enjoy GM Seirawan's lecture what an excellent teacher!
A wonderful teaching style and so much knowledge
I've heard that the Sicilian is a very combative opening but as a positional player I believe I can still make these positions work! Thanks Yasser!
Excellent lecture.

Never felt like he was taking a class in another place in a different point of time!
Great lesson, learned loads. Thanks!😁
this guy calms me down.
Love when he say "This SPECIFIC position"
I am deeply benefited from it
Thanks to you sir
My favourite opening greatly explained
Very informative lecture, especially the point about dismantling white's position after the move f3 with pawn to d5. Previously I would find myself stumped when facing this move since whites center appears so solid.
Love Yasser’s lectures
Great lecturer. Reminds me of one of my favorite math teachers.
This man is amazing at explaining chess. This lecture is gold.
I needed it to be more deep... He's the best teacher.
Yaz you the best!
Thank you for this.
this guys voice is so sophisticated. this is what i imagine a chess player should be like .
I like how he deliver
Love this guy
Man the intro/outro music is great.
Awesome Instructor!
making tough things look easy! Thank you
Great Video !!! Thanks very much !!!
Not every GM at his level shares hints . Yasser is one of the best
Thank you so much .
This guy is an incredible teacher, I'd love to attend one of his lessons if he is still teaching chess.
استاذ ياسر طريقه شرحه جميلة جدا هادية وممتعة
Brilliant!
so far i played the classic dragon.. i ended up trying the accel.. dragon :D thx yasser
1.25 speed is just perfect on any GM Yasser videos lol
great lecture if you put the speed on 1.25.
i love this guy
The voice of an angel
Great video! I'm still struggling when black plays d5 with white bishop on b3. After exd5 what should black play?
I would like to see the adult class lecture on this same topic.
Sweet Uncle Yass
Although I play the classical Sicilian I just need to watch this yassers to great.

Dude is the Bob Ross of chess
this is some top tier before bed content
I like when he shows the students why their moves are bad and doesnt mock them .. I had a coach that made me feel so dumb for being wrong
It's really important to go through the motions to show them the possibilities without discouraging engagement. I agree completely, that if he did mock them then no one would give suggestions (I know I wouldn't)
Bruh, I just did puzzle, so my brain is already tired. This lecture is just melting it.
I love his smile
45:30 deep doodoo 😆 Never heard that
I would pay stupid money to have audio books from him
Sweetest voice ever
Is there a second part to it? It kind of ended at a surprising moment.
What a gentleman 😍
can someone tell me what happens when after qa5+ and kf2 is played by white, so we cant win the pawn as the queen coudl protect it next?
Control-Flip - I feel you, bro
22:54 what is the best move to play against pawn e5 to e6? It looks intimidating, especially with the white rook opposite your queen.
you just play d5, a move that you were dreaming of. You threat e6, and you get a dream position.
good video
Coming back again to check why my game did not go as smoothly as Yasser explained here XD
Yasser is the best

Nice and sweet
What about Bishop e2 at 23:47 to a Yugoslav attack like structure for white
What happens if after black plays d5, white responds with exd5?
