My previous video breaks down the gun vfx a bit more, but basically there is a randomly rotating and scaling cluster of image planes for the muzzle flashes, smoke particles with a volumetric shader and two different particle emitters for the sparks and tracers. They both use an emissive icosphere as the instance object.
