BOARDING CARNIVAL MARDI GRAS | Trying Carnival Again After 15 Years

- Join us for our first day onboard the Carnival Mardi Gras! It has been SO long since we cruised with Carnival, and we were so excited to give Carnival another chance. We volunteered this week with Autism on the Seas.
We started our morning very early with a 7:00am meeting before heading to the cruise port at 9:00am. After meeting families at the port, we boarded the ship around noon and headed to the Pig and Anchor for a delicious lunch.
We had some time to do our muster station, check out our cabin and explore a little bit of the ship. After some time, we were excited to partake in the Sailaway Party! It was definitely a crazy one, and so much fun! We were off to a great start.
We then headed to our first dinner in the Mardi Gras Palm Dining Room, where we were pleasantly surprised by the courses. The food was delicious!
We had a few meetings before we went to enjoy some live music, comedy shows and then the LimeLight Lounge to close off our night.

We found it at the Pig and Anchor on the first day! But sadly we could not find it after the first day… we think it was there by mistake 🥲

Just wait until you go on utopia of the seas. That sail away party is so good plus there’s two pools so everyone is partying in the pool and pool deck
RC’s sail away parties aren’t even close to Carnival.
We are very excited to go on Utopia and see how it compares!!

We boarded June 29th!
Too many "budget" cruisers on carnival for me. Don't think I'll try them till they raise their prices.

Regarding "crowds" did you feel that Royal, Virgin, or Carnival had more crowds and a tight feeling around the ship?
Carnival for sure felt very busy and a lot of crowds. Specifically waiting for shows and venues to open, there were very long lines!
Have you tried MSC Cruises?
We have not! It is on our list to try

It was very close quarters for the week! We didn’t spend much time at all in our cabin so we made it work ☺️
Four people in an inside cabin = the cruise from hell
It was definitely not ideal however, we made it work for the week!
@@thecruisingsisters i’m glad it worked out. You guys are doing an amazing job. I just don’t know how you have so much time to cruise all the time. I’ve done 25 cruises since 1997 and you’ve already beat me. I recommend you try a Celebrity Cruise next. I think you’d be impressed with everything they have to offer. It’s my favorite cruise line now and you can get equal elite status on Celebrity from your diamond status on Royal
