- Friday was Hank Idsinga’s last official day as a member of the Toronto Police Service, but wasting no time, he’s already announcing his next assignment.
After a 34-year career with the Toronto police, during which he spent the last six years as an inspector in charge of the homicide squad, Idsinga is excited to be joining Global News radio on Global News Toronto as a regular commentator on crime issues.
The Hamilton-born, Burlington-raised husband and father says he wasn’t ready for retirement, so when the opportunity presented itself to work in media, he was excited about the new challenge.
Global News Toronto crime specialist Catherine McDonald sits down with Idsinga to talk about his career and what's next for him as our crime analyst.

Boy, didn't I know it... I was waiting for that one!
I'd love to know as well.
He is super attractive.
That's ALL GREAT !!! BUT HE CAN'T CHANGE OUR NON EXISTENT JUDICIAL SYSTEM.
Canada's new detective McKenna (Mcnugget) Homicide hunter! 🙃🙃🤪
say what?
Maybe he can give me a hand with the Rori murder involving Adam Strong documented July 10 17 and something involving 9 4 17. July 10 17 I gave up names to USA involving Rori Chantel Hache and Bruce McCarther. In Canada police told me to leave Canada and media hasn't been there for me.
