This was by far the BEST podcast I've seen on the Internet! Every point is well thought out and you both handled the situation in the best way! Fair play
This is the most important podcast you've made. Thank you for having this discussion - especially on the exploitation of reality TV and cancel culture.
For me the most moving Podcast you have made, I never knew or met Caroline, I never really watched any of her shows, yet when I found out that she'd died I was devestated, I can't explain why, it's like I've lost a friend that I never knew, still hurts now, Caroline wasn't perfect, nobody is, but wherever she is right now I do hope that she has found peace, God bless you Caroline Xxx
This is a weak point in my opinion, given that the type and the level of vilification thrown at her was influenced BY her being a woman. They’re incomparable scenarios.
I think the issue is that yes she did wrong, but not in the way we were told. The blood on the bed was an old incident and something she did to herself, photos that never should’ve been released. She shouldn’t have hurt Lewis burton, god no way, but the media took it too far by lying
I never comment on UA-cam videos, but I have to say that you two did such a fantastic job of addressing and discussing such a sensitive and complex issue in a balanced way. I strive for content like this. Keep it up, lads!
Man, I know this is an old video and all, but when I'm feeling down or depressed, I come back to this, and listen to geordie and loz and it really reinforces in my mind all of their advice and their logic behind metal health and trying to deal with horrible situations. I dont think they realise how many times they have saved me personally from stupid idea and I just want to say thanks to both of the boys and that I hope they are both doing amazing and loving life, because they really make me start looking at my own life differently. Love all your videos, big fan of the channel, keep crushing it guys 💜

I understand why you would want to turn the comments off Brian however I feel like this would cause a disconnect from us (fans) and you. keep up the great content both of you are great
I think that's the reason he sometimes wants to turn off the comments, to get that disconnect. While it cuts off the positivity, it also gets rid of the negativity.
I am from Poland so idk much about the whole situation, but I always love the way you guys talk about mental health, public appearance and troubles that come with fame. Keep doing this podcast, because fans and youtube culture needs your duo.
@when you can bust a myth but not a nut that I hadn't known anything about Caroline Fleck before I watched this video fam. It's literally explained in the first sentence of my original comment

This is so important for people to be honest and discuss these topics properly. You guys always tackle these situations in a reflective, personal and honest manner. Your best video. Thank you
I realise that hundreds of people commit suicide everyday and that her celebrity status doesn't make it any more tragic. But I did feel deeply sorry for her. The blood we all saw on her bed (which to me didn't even look like blood) was hers from self harm, and her bf was adamant that she was innocent. The police wanted to make an example of her. Her career was over and her reputation in tatters. I'd certainly want to end my life if I was in that situation. I've never watched Love Island in my life but her suicide still had a profound effect on me

Absolutely delightful experience to sit and listen to two intelligent individuals discussing a very difficult situation in a truthful, yet sensitive manner. Very important.
In 2009 when I was 14 social media just starting to become what it's ended up as today but it wasn't yet quite as important as people view it now. Everyone I knew had a Facebook and even back then there was a lot of bullying and abuse between people at my school so I can't even imagine what it's like for kids who are growing up now to have so much pressure to have followers and likes. I have a younger cousin and now and again I see comments that these kids are making to eachother and it honestly worries me. If I ever have kids I'm not letting them anywhere near social media until I know they're mature enough to handle what having a public profile comes with because I know from experience it can seriously mess with your sense of reality especially when you're a teenager. All of these sites need to come with warnings about comments and abuse you can receive through them and should be age restricted, I know younger kids will still get on but it might stop at least few people from going through the same type of bullshit I did in school. Honestly the world would be better off without social media, no, the world was better off without it.
I honestly have never heard of Caroline Flack(that I can recall) but this subject overall hits home with me. Thank you for not sugar coating it and not doing any of the BS "let's talk but walk on eggshells the entire time" thing. I truly believe this is a subject that needs to be spoken about openly and honestly or what is even the point? Thank you both again.
Thank you for such an insightful and thoughtful conversation about a very serious and real situation. This is my first time watching, and I really appreciate the ideas put up here.
Badman Steve I disagree, the amount of men in the public eye that have abused women (Harvey Weinstein/Donald Trump just as an example) have still been able to live their lives freely and still are praised for their work and given awards despite their abuse allegations. Not saying all men but a lot of these men seem to just get away with it.
@@XxskysceneXx harvey Weinstein just been sentenced and im assuming you're talking about the pussy grabbing thing, in which he actually doesn't say he grabs them, but rather those women around him will let them do anything to them. Skyla Pearce you are talking about extremes here locking up Trump or Weinstein would be incredibly hard (given how long Weinstein has gotten away with it as evidence) whereas a TV presenter only known nationality within the UK, say Ant or Dec for this example (as both work for ITV like Caroline), would be considerably easier to arrest and lock up in a short time frame.
What I love about these discussions, is that every answer Brian and Laurence give, always feels considered. I love the humour, but it is the answers to the points, that I really love, well thought out and articulated. Love 💕

Suicide is like a bomb. Ticking, slowly towards an explosion. All cases of suicide that are published widely have similar supposed causes. Humans aren't built to be judged by millions. They're barely even built to be judged by a classroom. There's always a defuser in these situations but sometimes the clock speeds up too fast. We need to be more efficient in defusing instead of being so efficient in pressing the pedal on the timer... Great podcast boys. Good on you guys for speaking up.

@Robbi Rose Complying to exactly what they were talking against on the video. I think you need to grow up and keep to yourself if all you want to do is spread negativity. Just sharing a point of view.
This conversation is immense. You're both so brave in your honesty and frankness. But, and the crucial element is how refreshing it is when people are as honest as you both are within this conversation and how many times you hit on the truth. Bravo, seriously. Please keep doing what you're doing you two. Hitting on the truth is like a checkmate. This video is important, as when the truth turns up - the lies to the contrary melt away like piss on snow. This isn't always the case, sure. But people who genuinely want to be objective, but are struggling with that, I think that videos like this can really help then see. Such a rare experience, listening to this one. I can't think of a single element I don't agree with. I extremely rarely comment on anything, but with this one I had to. Please keep unleashing your perspectives, you two, whenever you've done what you've clearly done prior to this video. It's powerful as fuck. Much respect.
Just listened to this whilst cleaning my house. Honestly the best podcasts are when Geordie and Lawrence speak about relatable issues and break them down to show everyone how it feels to be in a certain place or situation...Brilliant podcast lads!

So refreshing to consistently see massive youtubers like True geordie and Lawrence not waste their platform and say things that need to be said and not shy away from controversy.
This is why I will always prefer watching brian and and Lawrence have a conversation rather than other podcasts such as Impaulsive. They know exactly when to let eachother speak, know how to move on smoothly to a different point of view and even just have a raw real conversation without constantly trying to outsmart eachother
I think this was a well thought out and well articulated podcast which made me think about other points and perspectives I wouldn't have before. Good to listen to stuff on UA-cam once in a while that has some actual substance and you can take something away from which is what this podcast, and many previous ones, has.
The thing that makes you relatable is because you’re being yourself and being human lot of food for thought in this video when it comes to how we interact with social media keep up the good work 👍🏻
Holy fuck these podcasts have matured and grown so much in recent months. Feels like those bad experiences last year turned a corner for these podcasts now you are using more freedom to discuss darker and real issues, the show is growing into something much more important and very thought provoking. You and Laurence are getting it spot on with these types of conversations too. This is the type of unedited real talk the TV and newspapers could learn a valuable lesson from. Great work guys.
they had moved onto the new presenter of love island which is all that mattered to these brainwashed fans.a show that glorifies men treating women like pieces of meat and women who are expected to act slutty and then wonder why thats how the contestants are viewed after the show.these kind of shows need ending

I’m not going to lie I never watched Love Island my cousins did. I remember a year a love island contestant had committed suicide and my cousins were sad. It’s very sad but I think you go from a nobody to famous in a couple of weeks. Then in a blink of an eye your a has been. @Robbi Rose Complying to exactly what they were talking against on the video. I think you need to grow up and keep to yourself if all you want to do is spread negativity. Just sharing a point of view.
@@justdoit.86yearsago to an extent yes. Ofc
Laurence was on fire with all his points👏🏼👏🏼
I'm so glad you guys have addressed this because I feel like true Geordie would have a big opinion on it. Love the podcast btw
True”I can crush a humans head with my bare hands”geordie
I thought only the mountain could do this...now there's 2!!
Just listened to this whilst cleaning my house. Honestly the best podcasts are when Geordie and Lawrence speak about relatable issues and break them down to show everyone how it feels to be in a certain place or situation...Brilliant podcast lads!
Love to see just you two discussing this types of contents, if I may Netflix recently added the trials of Gabriel Fernandez ... what happened to him leaves a very iffy taste on your mouth and I'd love to hear both of your opinions about the documentary. Cheers.
So would I just watched it and wow man it hit me so hard how they could do so much damage to a innocent child I personally think she should have the death sentence aswel it was really rough for a while there thinking of Gab it was such a heart puller for me and anyone human
I’m so happy this podcast is on trending, it should be shown to as many people as possible, great podcast again brian and Laurence, showed me some insight into what the hate is really like and how it takes over both the trolls and the person receiving it lives
Need more of these podcasts. Keep it up!
I honestly believe that this the most honest, truthful and most important podcast of two have done
Still watching but so far Laurence is on fire boys!
You two are a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work.
Big up to Brian for covering topics like this on his platform when he doesn’t need to
Best episode by far, well done for having a real conversation about this sensitive subject
Gotta lot of love for Laurence 🙏🏼
Real One
So refreshing to consistently see massive youtubers like True geordie and Lawrence not waste their platform and say things that need to be said and not shy away from controversy.
Excellent video lads, Caroline would be proud and thankful for your pretty accurate and heartfelt chat. ❤️
Best duo on UA-cam as always delivers the realist conversations 💪🏿👊🏿💯...
Lawrence is on top form in this one!
Great conversation and reflection on a tragedy. Gave me a lot to think about. Love this channel
Been waiting for this well done lads
This is why I will always prefer watching brian and and Lawrence have a conversation rather than other podcasts such as Impaulsive. They know exactly when to let eachother speak, know how to move on smoothly to a different point of view and even just have a raw real conversation without constantly trying to outsmart eachother
If you’re reading this Brian. Love ya ❤️
I think this was a well thought out and well articulated podcast which made me think about other points and perspectives I wouldn't have before. Good to listen to stuff on UA-cam once in a while that has some actual substance and you can take something away from which is what this podcast, and many previous ones, has.
This video is 4yrs old and jothing has changed its got worse social media is poison
Domestic violence is a serious issue and should be reported on.
The thing that makes you relatable is because you’re being yourself and being human lot of food for thought in this video when it comes to how we interact with social media keep up the good work 👍🏻
20:50 This point from Laurence is so well worded
Holy fuck these podcasts have matured and grown so much in recent months. Feels like those bad experiences last year turned a corner for these podcasts now you are using more freedom to discuss darker and real issues, the show is growing into something much more important and very thought provoking. You and Laurence are getting it spot on with these types of conversations too. This is the type of unedited real talk the TV and newspapers could learn a valuable lesson from. Great work guys.
Literally no ads on this.
We thank you.
Zero Wilde there is an ad
I have 5 ads

not sure why everyones seeing different amount.
mine literally has 0 yellow bar midrols
Laurence is one of the best orators on mental health on the platform, and beyond
My one and only question is this:
Where was all of this support from Caroline's 'fans' in the first place?
they had moved onto the new presenter of love island which is all that mattered to these brainwashed fans.a show that glorifies men treating women like pieces of meat and women who are expected to act slutty and then wonder why thats how the contestants are viewed after the show.these kind of shows need ending
@@bartman01021988 I totally agree with you but it is also the other way around. Some women in the villa play the same games as some of the men.
Aside from that we cant blame one thing on peoples deaths. There are many factors that we do not know and we will never know because we arent them. We cannot go inside their heads
Mine was " who diss?"
I feel no empathy for the idiots on Love Island, if they are so stupid to the point that they lack self awareness, it's all inevitable!
@@UnchartedWalters06 while I agree they're stupid and what not, that doesn't mean they deserve to effectively feel so bad to the point of not wanting to live (I practically detest the show and the kind of people who watch it and take part, bare that in mind). You sound like you haven't had much struggle and lack perspective.
Thank you Brian and Lawrence for contributing in making my day a little bit better by uploading this video. This is quality content and you two are quality people👍🏿
Do a pod on the Aaron hernandez doc
Lewis Craig think they said they’ve made one or are going to make one on the kick off or knock out can’t remember which one
Jack McGrath Yh I think he said about doing it on the tg2 don’t fuck with cats podcast but hope he does watched all 3 episodes in one binge a few days ago
Sam Lewis ye that’s it knew I heard him say it somewhere
I've watched this like 10 times and it's probably my favourite podcast ever.
Whole situation feels straight out of a black mirror narrative. No surprise this happened and more will continue with the way we live
Incredible podcast. I really enjoy guest podcasts but these one-on-one podcasts have always been my favourite from day 1
for me this is one of Lawrence most brilliant podcasts
Coming back to this in 2021 - More of this Loz, at his critical, analytical, eloquent best.
Loz was class on this, usually is mind but he was speaking pure facts throughout
Laurence is the type of guy to see points from all perspectives and give the most rational and unbiased opinion on a subject
I found out about her death on my way home from work, maybe half way home , it takes me just over an hour to get home . I cried the rest of my journey , I didnt know her only off the telly . but she came across to me as such a lovely girl always smiling always up for a laugh and could take it too , also a bit of a tomboy (seems like an archaic term now) .its such a shame she felt she had to take her own life , what a waste. Caroline Flack R.I.P.
Thank you so much Lawrence for doing research and challenging Piers Morgan on the way he presents his views. You guys are so mature and it makes me so happy that I'm seeing trans identities and other minorities defended and represented on your podcast. You guys offer such good support for those who need it and want someone to talk to. Thank You!!
In all fairness to ITV, as somebody who has worked for them, major pressure has been put on every reality production to have extensive after care with their contributors.
Handled this difficult conversation amazingly. Some top points.
I really miss these Loz and Brian pods. Cheers lads x
This is the content needed for today’s society. Well done boys, obsessed with the pod and you’re both amazing in what you do. Can’t wait to see you guys get more recognition x
I’m not going to lie I never watched Love Island my cousins did. I remember a year a love island contestant had committed suicide and my cousins were sad.
It’s very sad but I think you go from a nobody to famous in a couple of weeks. Then in a blink of an eye your a has been. I think these “Reality” tv shows must prepare the contestants for the fluctuation of fame.
What are your thoughts ?
Lizwa H completely agree
how would they do that
Cancel the damn show all together
There should be more widespread understanding of the psychological effects of appearing on reality tv to stop potentially vulnerable people having their lives ruined
Nobody forces them onto the show
......
Honestly i would like to thank Brain
Thank u soo much u have no idea about the impact that u actually had in my life ,you've helped me through my breakup and u helped me when i lost one of my best friends and u helped me when i thought about taking my own life, u gave me the chance to see the world in a positive view, u were actually there for me when i had no one.
Thank u so much.
