Family bought a car in 2011 , started driving in road from 2016 , because Of demotivation from my father . 5 years and still my father never trusts me , though I have driven more than 1 lakh km safely . He sits behind only when i drive .

For me my first long drive was with my sister, who was carrying , I think I don't need an explanation about the response from parents...you already know.
Until the previous day, I was all confident, but on the very morning, butterfly moment in the guts.
But with reassuring auto suggestion and focus, we began our journey and happily crossed the comfort zone....that's the end of crossing my fear.
After that, till date (8yrs) , my parents express their anxiety in one or the other, but I can handle it better with either
1.taking care until a limit
2.ignoring when it is beyond a limit

Sir, one more point. Many people get discouraged if during driving practice their car gets a small scratch or dent and eventually stop practising. Small damage to car should not deter them from practising driving as these things are bound to happen and the bigger benefit of independent mobility should be considered.

Very nice info to gain confidence while driving... Driving has 2 parts.. 1 is knowing how the car machine works/responds... 2 is road dynamics.. Understanding others psychology.. Who will enter from where..
Just by knowing how to operate the car doesn't make a person good driver.. But understanding the road conditions-gunddu, kuzhi, rules, people's driving behavior etc makes a good driver..a great driver.
And your videos are always aimed to make it from good to great.
Also, you rightly mentioned that there is no sequence to learning... All the info is good to know from the very beginning and should be learnt atleast on the need basis..

Very useful my few fear which I observed
1. In narrow road side already park vechile , opp vechile 4 wheeler , just I get afraid seeing that opp vechile , will I be able to judge and adjust accordingly.
2. U turn in traffic signal , when I turn if it's free ok, if space is less how to manage . Once I got struck opp traffic got released, I took reverse and manged God knows haha in wagon
3. Reverse fear there , but when I drove ford figo it gave me confidence
4. I have to do more drive with Co passengers, I think how would they react if I do mistake this I should over come.

I too have similar problem..have car..know amateur level driving..but still driving on Chennai roads is chilling factor for me because of unorthodox driving of two wheelers and four wheelers...I use to think of driving on ECR..But ECR is potentially dangerous road and has become like race circuite... Yes it is. I bought a first car at the age of 54. I postponed buying for 2 years having a doubt at this age can I learn driving. Much to my surprise I attended 3 classes only. 10 years before I took license but not driven car. Then I practiced everyday morning 6 - 7 am. After 15 days I hit the highway and drove in Lousy Bangaore traffic. 3rd month i drove from Bangalore to chennai. Now every alternative week I’m driving to Bangaore. Of course I got more confidence from Maestro’s melody. Without him I never traveled coz my opinion he is Demigod of Music. BTW I’m driving Automatic car.

Every driving condition is a new experience, for eg trust me if you learn how to drive in a single lane rural roads where government buses and lorries ply, the pondy ecr road is nothing.
Sometimes playing car games is also useful when you try to play without hitting anything and make sharp turns in the game. I know it sounds strange but it has helped me in a lot of scenarios
