I love being an Np I have my wonderful office. See my patients virtually. No micro managing I mean it’s wonderful!!! I worked ICU, medsurg, LTC and it’s just not worth it for me. I feel much happier, I sleep better and the list goes on
What specialty are you in?

Love this!🎉
What specialty are you in?
A lot of nurses never talk about the military. We need people at the VA and our hospitals I’ve met many that leave the hospital to go to the naval,Airforce or Army hospitals. They make really good money the schedule is very relaxed.
Darn it, TN! Lol. I’m still on the fence because of the disconcerting things other NPs have said, but this was very helpful! Thanks Safi! ❣️
I just got licensed as a NP seems like it will be great! Good luck thanks for the post!
Great video! Very informative and to the point!
Great video! Ever since I started nursing I’ve been wanting to be an NP but struggling to make the choice -mostly due to fear mongering as to why I shouldn’t. It’s good to hear positive reviews
thanks! I was in that same boat as well, it took me 5 years to decide to go for it. I just couldn’t imagine working bedside for the rest of my life. good luck with your journey!
Once you get the experience in your chosen specialty the flood gates open for job prospects and pay. If you want to travel or do teleheath consider getting multi-state licenses in advance of applying for positions. If you have at least 2-3 prior licenses that will make you more marketable.
thanks for the tips!! can’t wait to get started as a NP
I feel the same way, I am also in np school right now too.
omg I remember you from Tumblr! Congratulations on your career! This is awesome!
awww miss those days 🥹 thank you so much!! 💖
Hi I graduated NP school and passed boards in 2022. I got accepted into a residency I’m excited and nervous . But I’m staying positive about the situation. God has the outcome in his hands.
how has residency been going??
Yes I am done with my masters am waiting to do my boards and I am over bed side
What program would you recommend and how long is it?
its all dependent on what you're interested in. I'm currently in the family NP program, but you can go into acute care, psychiatric, or adult gero. I'm doing the part time track which is 7 semesters
Do you need to have med/surg experience to become a family nurse practitioner?
not necessarily- it's helpful but I've met many NP students/NPs that have worked in different areas of nursing
NP student here, wish me luck 😊
you got it 😉
The thank you part...we do so much that goes unnoticed and never get a thank you for your hard work from management or charges. It's what we do and it is our job, but some positive reinforcement would go a long way. I start NP school in August, and although I'm nervous about the workload and my capabilities, I am excited because I'm doing it for me!
