One problem I could see happening.... if they have access to Wifi the guests might not want to leave! Another great video, Rich. You always explain things in a way that's easy to fallow and understand. Greg
Rich, I forgot you have a Hugh new workshop. Will you be sharing a workshop tour video? I think I remember you saying you plan to have classes. I'm a bit to far away to join in if you do. Greg
Maybe Greg. I have 800 sq ft of area that I won't be using, so I might set that up for classes. Five years ago, I used to teach classes at the local college Vo-Tech until a hurricane collapsed the building. There was pretty good attendance back then, so I might start that up again. The cost of upgrading the insurance is an issue for now though. For right now, the focus is on redoing some of the electrical and getting the layout planned out. Fume extraction is also going to require a lot of work because of the building and limited attic space. I have some new lasers on order, one, a Co2 laser that will likely change the direction of the budget Co2 market, so once those are in and setup, I'll do a tour.
Rich, it sounds like you have a big project. It always great to have more space than you need than not enough. It will be fun hearing your progress as you move forward. Greg
I just want to say thank you for the great videos and ideas. Very well explained and also understandable for non-English speaking viewers. Please keep it up. Greetings, Ingo from Germany
Looks good Rich. I like the rounded corners better too. The only change I'd make is the words "Wifi". I know they're centered but, the look like they should be moved a bit left (obviously it's very subjective). Thanks again for another great video. I learn something (or many things) new with each video you post!
Rich, this is a great idea and will certainly get this out of the way when guests arrive. It's amazing how creative your mind is. I notice that you have 3D LED Night Lights linked in your video description. Is there a video of you working with these on a diode laser that I cannot find?
Great job Rich. With the precision of the LaserMatic MK2 you could have put the big piece of wood back in and then popped the house into the cut out part and ran the fill with the slower speed and or higher power and would have accomplished darkening it without having a wasted peace.
When i make a QR code on wood 10 by 10 sm it's was not recognised from distance smaller than 1 meter. Advice to laser enthusiast - if you don't want to fail beautiful material just test your project on some piece of cardboard 😉 Thanks for that informative video and funny Hobby Guy song 🥂
you could cut out the spot for the code and insert one from the white wood, or glue it on top maybe? nice job could sell these at craft show if you could print a stick on label for the code
I'm curious how would you burn the code into something that was dark colored? I believe the QR-code would essentially be a negative and not read correctly.
Two things. At 9:30, instead of offsetting, wouldn't it have just been easier to just change that outline directly to the cut layer? More importantly, though... what mouse did you get? I have been using a trackball for over 10 years and LOVE it, but I wouldn't mind one with three buttons. Wonder if I could add one? 🤔 Anyway... nice tutorial. I love that painted plywood!
Yes, it was a mistake I fixed. After adjusting the speeds & DPI, the new mouse is wonderful! It has 4 buttons, plus the mouse wheel, so I guess that's 5, and a button underneath to adjust the DPI. This is where I got it: amzn.to/3Wm2eft
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy The button layout is slightly different than the one I've been using for a decade, so it's going to take some getting used to, but I like it. Thanks for the recommendation!
Love the video. However I can never get a QR code to work out of lightburn specifically the password it is scan the network and then it asked me to enter the password so I always use my Android phone and get a QR code for the internet that I'm making a plaque for. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
I don't know! I did a hospital and physicians center last year and created dozens of department codes and they all worked for me. You can ask a technician at Lightburn here: forum.lightburnsoftware.com
A wise person learns from their mistakes, a wiser person learns from other's mistakes so thanks for making us all a little wiser!
You bet!

Awesome Greg! 👍 I like having guests in the shop!

It's the fancy font accents Andy. I thought about moving it.
Awesome music! Great video too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
yeah rounded looks alot better, nice video, thanks!
It does Kevin, thanks for watching!
Great video, as always, Rich. loving the songs whilst watching the laser get to work
Glad you enjoyed it David. I have fun writing them.
I like seeing the mistakes, you learn more from the errors, than you do if it always just works.
I don't think it ever just works Steve! 🤪 Every new project has a learning curve.
"Turn defects into Effects"😉🥂👍
nice work rich keep going
Thanks so much!

I think you mean the LED light bases . Those are for Co2 laser users that cut their own clear acrylic.
Great job Rich. With the precision of the LaserMatic MK2 you could have put the big piece of wood back in and then popped the house into the cut out part and ran the fill with the slower speed and or higher power and would have accomplished darkening it without having a wasted peace.
I would have Jeff, but I really didn't like the points on the corners.
I’ve even put the cut piece back in, changed the corners on a rectangle in lightburn and recut to round them over some. 😊
I think that would have been confusing for the video Jeff, but yeah, with the LaserMATIC you can make any changes you want.
Good video, And yes the code worked perfectly
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching Ian!
love the video Rich as always, plus i do love your painted wood on the first job did you do yourself or buy, keep up the good work as always
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Great video, I was wondering if you could create a QR code in lightburn. Thank you for the information.
My pleasure Kie! 👍
Great job as always Rich! Thank you.
Glad you liked it Glenn!

Awesome idea! I have the best viewer comments! 👍
Another great video! Any updates on next years MK3?
The Mk3 is hush hush for now! 🤪
cool project!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Patrick, it was a quick, fun project!

Haven't tried it.
I did like the color of the first one. Can it be mask for the QR code and paint it
If I would have run another pass on just the QR code, it would have worked Ed.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Ok, still looks great!
Thanks Ed!
