  • Race Smarter, Not Harder! My First Time at Monza in GT7 (PSVR2) and Getting Over the Struggles - In this video we are headed to Monza in Gran Turismo 7 Daily Race B. This is an "A" Lobby race and I raced it in PSVR2. I will be going over the best ways to survive this race and come out clean in the end. Any time we move up a spot, to me, that's a good day. So let's see if we can put my tips to the test in this video and have a good race!

    You gotta make a discord and host weekly events man, I can help you set up if you want but I'm sure you have a great community that would love to race with you and other like-minded people (casual racers who love VR)

      I suggested that months ago, I would love to race with a community of like-minded people. This week in Monza, I can say 50% of the races I'm getting punted left and right destroyed murdered and the other 50% I'm p1 thru 5. Think with out the pressure of getting points and just having a nice competitive run at some of the underused tracks with some of the night time or weather changes would be really awesome.

      Out of curiosity, do you stick to the racing line? I started driving more on the inside when I have people behind me to deter them from dive bombing@@davidshekhter5284

    This guy is far from the fastest but his attitude and his approach to racing is TOP TIER .genuinely enjoy his videos which I can't say about many other youtubers.
    Keep up the good work.more than happy to give u any tip should u need.TC1 is good for tyre saving and doesn't slow u down to much.use ur break bias and don't be scared of second gear coming out of slow corners.apply throttle smooth it's far less likely to bite 👍

    You give great advice. Don't be afraid to defend though, it's fun :).
    Also this is something I'm working on in VR: turn your head more toward the corner. When you're on the straight look at the braking zone, when you get there look at the apex, as you approach apex look at exit. It's hard to remember to do but when I do I am way faster

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  3 місяці тому +1

      I will defend to a certain degree but spending too much time defending will only help cars further back catch you faster. So it's kind of a pick your battle type of thing.
      As for turning your head in VR. It's actually something I have talked about in past videos. 👍

    I love your description of these "danger zones" lol. I had alot of trouble at Monza as well and took quite a bit of time practicing this track the last 2 weeks. Easy to learn but tricky to master. Last week this was race C with 10 laps and a pit stop and was really fun. Btw the wheel is coming along great, very immersive and tons of fun.

    • @thecasualracinggamer

      Looks like you adapted to the wheel and pedals pretty nice based on your time this week!

      @@thecasualracinggamer thank you thank you, it definitely came with a lot of hard work. It really helped to get Suzuka 1 hour daily race C as my break-in race for learning the wheel. I also play a lot of single player and do the circuit experiences so ultimately the adjustment was exponentially quicker but there's always more to learn and I'm definitely loving playing this game in VR it's like you're taken into another world.

    Your experience and maturity are evident in your videos. Earlier I offered a suggestion for a video, but now checking out your catalog I see now that this is your mission.

      @@thecasualracinggamer I use it when playing AI. But I'm just getting my feet wet online and I need the race info. It's really disappointing that PD didn't update the VR interface with the Spec II release.

    • @Bladecutter
      @Bladecutter 2 місяці тому

      @@thecasualracinggamer Specifically, I can't image _racing_ in VR. No race information. Just having position and the splits between you and other cars would be a minimum.

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  2 місяці тому

      Because we have not seen any VR updates since release, my guess is they pretty much abandoned it, and we got what we're going to get. I hope I'm wrong, though.
      For me, I would rather be missing some race info and be fully immersed in the experience over having the info, but lacking the immersion.

    I love Monza, much easier on GT7 than iRacing as you can drive through other cars on the 1st chicane. I just did one race this week qualified 13th and came in 3rd. really enjoyed it. A lot of cars just going off track

      It's all good. Also, when I say I don't know the track, I mean it in a way of actually driving on it in a sim to be competitive. Whether learning it through single-player or during a Daily Race week, I still need to put the time in to learn the track.

    Ur fiirst race, T1: everyone is playin nice. That is not the norm. Ive watched loads of YTubers, all levels.
    You cannot defend, or race 'smart' against dirty drivers who are intent on pushing through, no matter what your behaviour, intent, or driving lines are.

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  3 місяці тому +1

      I did about 4-5 races at Monza and survived T1 each time. You need to let the pushers through and go into T1 with the mindset of letting other drivers through and just take it slow. You'll catch them later on.

    The idiots of this game will never grasp the concept of not fighting with a faster car , they'll just run you into the wall if you attempt to overtake them and the penalty system is complete dog 💩which is why I walked away from this game

    • @pete6861
      @pete6861 3 місяці тому

      Yea I get that to a point but people should be able to defend a position and if you are that much faster ,why are you behind a slower car defending is as much a skill as being fast

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  3 місяці тому

      @pere6861 There can be cars that qualify slower but actually run a faster racing pace than you. Also, there are faster drivers in the back that don't qualify, although that's more on them. If they want to be in the front, they should qualify. Also, cars can get spun in the front who qualified ahead of you and then end up behind you. There are lots of reasons why faster cars might be behind you.
