- Old broken rusty hammer restoration. I found this rusty hammer at the site of a WW1 military camp. Near the hammer I found horseshoes. Perhaps this hammer was used for horseshoes. The hammer was rusty and broken, but I decided to restore it. I removed the rust and repaired the hammer, made a new handle. I hope you liked my restoration.

Who would have thought, a hammered finish on a hammer head... Looks good and I have to say I've never seen such a hammer before. The head of the hammer could use a bit of crown though... Thumbs Up!

Get you some quality 4.5" flap wheel disks in 40 and 80 grit instead of that thin grinding disc, they remove material alot better and alot smoother. Those welds need more heat penetration than just small spots weld beads. Above all tho, nice work brother. 👍👍

Magnificent restoration! What site was this hammer located at? I think we can theorize some things here. It's WW1, perhaps they're building a trench (I know they were vast on the Western Front, but I don't know what they did on the Eastern Front, so perhaps trenches were there too), or a temporary arsenal, storage facility, etc. The conditions are bad, icy or rainy or soggy. The hammer is being heavily used and WHAM! An engineer on the front lines breaks the hammer while trying to complete an important project perhaps just behind the front lines. They're building defensive fortifications or a front line bunker, or perhaps a command post located on the Front. There's no time to repair the hammer, so the combat engineer (or even a regular infantryman) just grabs a new one and keeps going. The hammer ends up discarded onto some random patch of ground, where it's found over 100 years later by ReXtorer. Now THAT is an utterly epic story. Hell, it is perhaps even a likely tale of this long forgotten tool of the Great War. Or perhaps some lonely farmer chucked it into the woods one day when it broke. LOL...either way, it's one hell of a story for a tool like this, and I strongly prefer the 1st interpretation!

could use a drilling machine with metal brush, the rust would be off in couple of minutes
No, a wire brush will not remove deep rust and there will be a lot of dust.

That hammer isn't from the first world war, it's a 19th century basic hammer. If your going to make good restoring videos at least be honest about the age
