I had over 300,000 courier miles on LA freeways 24/7 in the seventies. Two incidents total. in 2017 I'm returning a rental car to ONtario airport so I leave early, 3 a.m., cut down to the 10 and towards Pomona: no one but me a three cars within MILES and a full moon. Car stops on the wedge between the permitted fast lane and the 3rd. No idea why. Lights on. Car then slams right into it, then a small p/u does the same and careens off into the shrubbery off the pavement. I get off the freeway immediately as a CHP is right behind me: let him deal with it. NEVER saw such idiocy back then. Glad I'm in Canada. Every time I"m down there now there's something really stupid and preventable happening: people making LEGAL U-turns but not looking, think because U-turns are marked legal in intersections that they're legal ELSEWHERE on the road. No, they're NOT. When I ride my bicycle around El MOnte I push out my bike FIRST at the walk light, and sure enough, some one not turning their thick neck thinks it's ok to turn right. Ok, smash my bike, then. I'll let go of the seat.

But you always have momentum to get the car off the road not to stop in the middle of it even if it’s electric power steering you can Armstrong that damn thing over to get it off? Don’t hit the brakes and stop in the middle of the road, that’s just plain stupid🤔🤔
@@rods907like I said. It's not always possible. There was no shoulder to pull off to on the far left/passing lane. I don't know what lane the stalled car was in but assuming the overturned car was in that lane when when it broke down its pretty hard crossing over 3 lanes without getting smashed into while you lose speed. Who knows what went wrong with the breakdown either. If the transmission or motor seized there isn't any coasting to be had.
