@@Docktavion The classic series made it work again for less than one story, Colin Baker's run. The classic series Sylvester McCoy's had someone else paint it pink, which didn't last the next trip.
Even that storyline has been done and already done much better.

Here in the US DW was broadcast on BBC America, until the end of Whittaker's run. In Australia it was on the Australian Broadcast Corporation channel. Poe conveniently 'forgets' those little tiny facts.

He’s doing exactly what they want, it will probably go to season 3+ (like Jodie, they kept pushing that garbage). He will have job after jobs pushing the same narratives. This is nothing more then a platform for them to role out the 3-5 spin offs that will go even harder down the rabbit holes). It’s why they refreshed the series down to season 1, makes it separate then the established so easier to find it.
They are wanting the mainstream folk to switch off, all to give them the access to the most vulnerable and easily manipulated for payoff in the future. That’s what the messaging is all about.

I was never a huge fan, I only started watching in the Eccleston period because it was on all the time in my house growing up. Dad's been a fan since Baker. Every time I try to bring up Dr. Who with him now he simply says "I stopped watching that" and doesn't continue the conversation, so he's probably one of those self-hating racists. Is there a English version of the phrase 'Uncle Tom'?

I don't care that the lead is gay or black. I have watched TV and films and listened to music for years, and not cared about the sexuality or colour of the cast, or musicians. If it's the only story the programme has then I will lose interest. I'll happily watch Ncuti Gatwa in anything, as long as his character is well written, and not pushing his real life sexuality or colour to exclude and patronise viewers. People are more accepting nowadays, and to be told to accept when it's already there is a sad direction for media to take. I am the enemy, white straight old male, and lost interest in doctor who as a teenager with Tom Baker. The SJW cheerleaders who trumpet every niche gender and race, are your target audience, and they won't watch. Once you commit, they're off to fix the next "probleml"🙃

no one trusts critics anymore..I mean look at metacritic and rotten tomatoes critic scores vs audience scores...critic score is a joke...no, an insult.

Praise from critics is worse than worthless because
A) A lot of critics won't risk their reputation or access by critiquing a show with representation negatively and
B) It's laughably easy to just pick which critics to listen to or declare credible for the purposes of astroturfing the numbers.
Critics haven't been on the same wavelength as the public they're claiming to represent for more than a decade now. It's actually more rare for the critics to agree with the viewers on whether or not a show is great than it is for them to be completely off base for the sole fact that they tend to give a lot of brownie points for completing the diversity bingo checkbox tapdance whereas the public usually doesn't care one way or the other.
The public doesn't MIND LGBT representation or diverse casts, but they won't praise an otherwise mediocre or bad product for having it, whereas the critics absolutely will.
As for the numbers: comparing the total streaming from other platforms and multiplying streams by two because "surely their significant others also watched" is mighty disingenuous when none of those numbers have been captured for the other episodes.

If anything, the numbers should be higher now that Disney is trying to spread Doctor Who to American markets more.

Almost everyone I know who is still checking it out on iPlayer are hate watching, I know I am, so I think at least 20% of the viewers are just watching it crash and burn in morbid fascination.

Well, someone is clearly "openly misinterpreting viewership data" but it isn't the former fans.
To be fair should you add another 15% to the BBC numbers on the iplayer when you compare it to older shows before the iplayer was a thing. It is still a total nightmare for BBC but fair is fair.
However, if you compare the shows you can not add in the Disney+ numbers (even if they seems so now they wont matter much anyways). That is like counting global box office numbers on the Marvels while comparing them to domestic numbers of Guardians 3, it makes it seems like less of a disaster.
A fair comparison is to compare each Doctors first episode to eachother while adding those 15% iplayer numbers to this one, it tells us exactly how popular this show was when it started to the others. We will get another important number with the last episode of the season but I don't think there is any universe where it wont be the lowest rated last season 1 episode on any Doctor and likely the lowest number of any Doctor Who episode ever (Boom is already there and viewers are dropping out fast).
So yeah, Epic fail is too mild of a statement here and there is a reason so few people read critics sites nowadays, the things they give the highest score is usually the things with lowest audience score.
