Hahahaha Hi Vincentnnyc Well, the nearest store is 455 km from Rio de Janeiro, so I have to learn how to do the basics. Next week's video will be about changing the Sprocket set. I hope I can manage it 😊👍🏻
Hi Chris! Thank you for your details on all aspects of the Brompton. I watch every one of your videos and it inspires me with my Brompton. Thank you! George
Hi Shelley Shell I do have a video riding in the rain, is part of the videos preparing for Camino de Santiago. But it is in Portuguese, sorry. In the beginning all the videos where in Portuguese, them I realized I had only 0,8% of subscribers from Brazil and start to make all the videos in English. But a raining video gear is a great idea. There are a lots of tips for raining days. Nice to have you on board!
Hello and thanks for your videos. What chain brand and model would you recommend to be used on Bromptons. Can any 8 speed chain be used? Thanks for your help.
Hi Lemonade Joy Brompton use a 8 speed chain. But depending on your chain ring, 50T, 44T, 54T and your rear sprocket, is the length of the chain. There is a table on Brompton manual that you can find the right length for your configuration. Nice to have you on board!
Hi Blue Yonder I've seen some videos about it. Very interesting how little debrie gets stuck to the chain. For what I've seen it is perfect for dry rides, but the thrue process to wax the chain (with the heat bath in a pan) demand time and space. But I'm curious about it, maybe I'll build "courage" to try it some day. It is always very Nice to have you on board!
Hi Chris! I want to share with you the experience of using tubeless wheels on my Brompton. I prefer to use air wheels because it is lighter and very stable on the ground.
Hi Max Siu The recommended chain (from Brompton) is the Sram P10, or Shimano CN-HG40 Both chains are for 8S and have 3/32 (with ) over 116L(size). Any chain that has this with and over 100L will fit your Brompton. Chose one that has good quality and strength. Keep Safe! Keep Riding!
Hi S M Yes, we do! I try to ride with the new chain and old sprocket but the chain jumps all the time. On the next video you will see that I change the chain and the sprocket. Now it is working fine. Nice to have you on board!
Hi Evelyn I love to learn, and do things the most easy and eficiente way possible. I'm always asking friends, especially bike mechanics friends, how to fix problems on my bikes. When bike touring some times things happen in the middle of no where and we have to fix it to get moving. So the most I know, the less I get stuck. And I research a lot of UA-cam videos before trying new things. Like, this week, I'll try to replace my Sprocket set. Ciclo Urbano send me a video from Brilliant Bikes showing how to replace it, so I'm trying for the first time . I'm a curious girl 😊 Nice to have you on board!
Hi Zen Not Zen I've seen some nice work on waxing chains. The nice thing is that collects less dirt. But it needs dedication and a especial place for the wax bath. So I haven't wax my chain yet. Nice to have you on board!
Hi Neltec The chain wears out. And with that, the links increase in size, spending the sproket differently, the teeths get thiner, so when we change the chain, we have to put a new sproket. otherwise, the new chain keeps jumping out of place. Nice to have you on board!
Thank you, Chris! Your camera angles are so clear, and your descriptions and instructions, too. So helpful!
Hi ERIN478
I'm glad you like it.
Happy to be of some help

You are very handy with fixing Brompton issue. You should open a Brompton repair shop in Brazil.

Your bike looks very clean
Hi Chris
It is rare, the bike paths are most of them along the beaches, so there are a lots of sand. Hard to stay clean.

Hey Chris! Great tip on how to partially fold the bike to work on the chain. I'll have to try that next time.
Hi Cameron Hirsch
It let's more space for the chain, and it makes it easier to work on the Brompton.
Nice to have you on board!
@@ChrisbyBike Thanks! Keep up the great work, I love your videos.
Thank you Cameron 👍🏻😊
Thanks for this tutorial! Raining?!! Maybe you should do a ride in the rain and show us your rain gear 😉😉😉

Hi
Any 8 speed brand will fit and work fine. The best brands will last longer.

Chris! Thank you! You videos are helpful for Brompton owners worldwide. Can you tell me which chain will fit for 3 gear standard Brommie?

Well done showing & explaining the small detail. Do you have any knowledge of using wax & teflon to lubricate the chain?
Hi Blue Yonder
I've seen some videos about it.

Hi Franz RM
Thanks for sharing! I've use tables in my MTB. It is a great advantage to seal flats with the sealant.
Can you use 100psi on them?
if i want to change chain, 8speed chain will fit my 6speed brompton? thanks

When you change a New Chain you got to put New Rear Sprocket
Hi Neltec
The chain wears out. And with that, the links increase in size, spending the sproket differently, the teeths get thiner, so when we change the chain, we have to put a new sproket. otherwise, the new chain keeps jumping out of place.

Please, use degreasier on the new chain first. Then reoil.
Hi Curiositycloset.
Depending on the chain, it is a good habit. This way you use the oil perfect for your ride preference.
Nice to have you on board!
@@ChrisbyBike I'm fully on board. Love your channel.
