I had never got round to using the lovely 1966 SS M3 I bought around two years ago, after it came back from its CLA (far far too many Leicas) and when I opened it this morning, I saw it had the quick load kit. As I did not have any instructions, this video has been very helpful. Thank you very much for posting it.
Do you mean the take up spool? With the original spool, you had to take it out and attach the film before putting it back in. This Quick Load spool was made so that you could pop the film in just like I did in the video. I usually take the spool out though.
It's a tempting idea. I have all of the digital equipments that I need, which is why I am now trying to shoot some film. It all depends on your priorities! Film is a blast though!
I was thinking about the Sony a57. I could use old Minolta lenses with it. I know the Pentax range is probably wider but I really like the features of the a57. It seems a little bit better than the K-30 (Which is really the only competitor that I would think about)
Nice! Not that I'm experienced with such cameras, but wouldn't it make sense to "attach" the film to the "roll" on the opposite side of where the film roll is placed before putting it in? A beauty of a camera btw!
Do not miss film one bit. The cost and inconvenience is the killer. If you really want to try the film experience use a small memory card capable of 36 shots maximum and give a stranger $20 after each shoot. Also try covering up your so you can't see the result of the shot. That was what it was like before digital.

Just made me want to shoot film... I don't know if I should invest in DSLR lenses and equipment or try film(it is kind of expensive)...
Wunderbar !!
You didnt mention the part that goes on the baseplate.
get a pentax dslr, where you can still use old manual lenses, that when you mix new tech and oldies but goodies.
ahh! Makes a lot sense. Smart :)
Peace Bro!
film is so fun to play with haha.
Not really quicker than the classic spool though.
