Fight Club is the best movie I've ever seen. Period. Fincher. Amazing. Uhls. Amazing. Palahniuk. Amazing. Lots of us had a Tyler poster back in the day WHILE realizing he was "the bad guy." Tyler was a charismatic leader, but he said a lot that spoke to a generation of men. That made the movie and book important to so many. It isn't that we thought Tyler was an actual hero ... it is that we loved him ... up to a point.
The first time I watched Fight Club, I hated it. For some reason, I gave it a second chance, and I liked it. The third time, I loved it. It doesn't have to love me back, though. Great video, by the way! I felt bad for Marla Singer the second time I watched it. I think she's the key as to whether most people can hate this movie, or grow to love it. I thought she was so annoying, abrasive, rude, and just an all-around terrible person, the first time I watched it. When I finally gave it a second chance, I started paying more attention to Marla, and the fact that she was actually with "The narrator" the entire time, and that his anger and hatred towards her was completely unjustified.
Thank you! I felt the same about Marla, first saw Fight Club as a teenager, I thought Tyler was the hero and saw Marla as the annoying brat. Took me a while to realize what the book/film is all about and that Marla was basically a victim.
@@BigFilmRev Even more so than The Sixth Sense, Fight Club is a movie that HAS to be watched twice in order to appreciate it. Once you see how cruel The Narrator is being to Marla throughout the entire movie, it completely changes how you see the film overall. I love your channel, and you deserve far more subs than you already have. Here's to that happening, because you're earning it with well-produced videos like this.
Thank you! I enjoy doing these videos, so I can only keep doing them and hopefully a bigger audience comes along for the ride. But I’m also enjoying this phase where I get a few great comments such as yours where we can keep discussing the film(s) and continue the conversation. Feels like a cozy message board. I bet I’ll look back on these days with nostalgia, should this channel ever become bigger, so I’m enjoying the moment.🍻
@@BigFilmRev yea lol tyler clearly control them like a boss same as a corporate boss but they dont care because they think they are escaping the system by doing this , or to say for modern person "escaping the matrix"

Yeah, a lot of people seem to miss the point of the film and see Tyler as a positive figure. Always surprised me.
