Besides diet, do any supplements help with cognitive impairment? My 74 year old stepfather was told to drink blueberry juice & take a high dose DHA supplement? Thanks
Steve Blake ScD has a good list of supplements/foods that he has used to good effect for cognitive impairment. 2 cups of blueberries and approx 300 mg of algal DHA a day for me. "Real Truth about Health" has several interviews/presentations by Steve Blake worth watching.
Is it possible to have a high lipoprotein a level even if I have been eating a WFPBNO diet for a long time? If yes, how would I lower it if eating a perfect diet doesn't?
Also, do you think there is anything wrong with a total cholesterol of 160 and LDL of 90 if I'm eating a WFPBNO diet? My cholesterol actually used to be between 120-140 several years back when I ate Whole Foods plant based but ate 5-10% lean chicken or fish but still very low fat and low saturated fat. Have you ever heard of anyone having a lower cholesterol level before they went 100% WFPB?
Doc, I have lots of genes that put me at a higher risk for heart attack and stroke. I switched from a vegetarian diet to vegan several years ago. About 6 months after I started on a vegan diet(the starch solution) I developed prediabetes. I have been tweaking my diet for several years. I had to eat more of a nutritarian diet to keep my sugar in normal ranges. I decided to follow Dr. Longo's advice an eat like my ancestors, mostly Northern European. I am now eating a vegan version of the Nordic diet. I am considering adding fatty fish to my diet because I have two copies of the hunter gatherer gene and I am concerned about brain health as I age. Do you have experience with patients with two hunter gatherer genes? Also when I mention diet I am not referring to weight loss, my BMI and waist to height is good.
Yes but what do you do when the keto and peleo stories are better. Then dry studies and statistics... When I talk to people about plant based they yawn 🥱... That is so sad

Being a vegan I have ELIMINATED OIL From my diet.
Is it safe to completely eliminate oil.
Please make a video on this if possible.
