Ten Ten! Many would not know how that nickname came about. At the African Cup of Nations in Maroc 88, we were down to 10 men following a Red card to Ademola Adeshina, he gave a tackle to an Algerian who could not continue in the game. Substitution had been completed so both sides continued 10-10.

We watched that game live. Without that tackle, Nigeria would have lost that game because the Algerians were really swarming us with their numerical advantage. Today with VAR, that tackle would have resulted in a red card. He only got a yellow.

    • @ShearForce1

In today's game, that tackle would have merited a red card!

I never knew Tarilla played for the National team. I knew he played for his secondary school ( National college, BARIGA, I believe was the name ) in the mid 70s. They played against my school.. CMS GRAMMAR SCHOOL, of course, they were handed BASKETS FULL OF GOALS… Coach Osho was in charge and SCỌ̀ORỌ̀O was the FIELD MARSHAL. Adokie and co. were delightful to watch.
We were SECONDARY SCHOOL SOCCER KING OF THOSE DAYS !!.
Someone, please direct me to a UA-cam video of Tarilla playing with the national team.. They called him TRILLING TARILLA !!!.
    Love from Texas.
