Welcome to 2023 where Nigel’s American friend discovered the British supermarket meal deal, Producer Matt is gifted a very special wand (wingardium leviosa not levioSAR) and Nigel stumbles on a ridiculous way to try and be seen quicker by Doctors in the Emergency Room.
0:00 - Nigel presents Producer Matt with a belated Christmas present and Nigel had an American friend come to stay.
6:53 - British holidays compared with American vacations and Nigel questions why Producer Matt has chosen to do dry January (which was broken that evening when they went for dinner because Nigel bought the wine and Producer Matt knew he would regret not having a nice glass of red with their Spaghetti Carbonara)
13:25 - Nigel has started hypnotherapy! Producer Matt reveals the former gladiator he watches perform gong therapy on Instagram.
20:35 - Boston friend visited Nigel over the Christmas period and when they visited a spa there were some gender politics at play when deciding who should have the male and who should have the female massage artist. Nigel also reveals why massage parlours offering female happy endings would be a terrible business idea.
27:15 - Cost of living in America compared to the UK and his Boston friend discovers the fables British supermarket meal deal for £5 and Producer Matt ponders when did the UK become a third world country…
39:00 - Nigel had to go to a British hospital on a public holiday and it didn’t go to plan. He also discovered he’s one earache away from turning into a right wing shock jock.
49:40 - Instead of privatising the NHS Nigel has this wild theory so people get seen by doctors quicker…

Nigel remember America is a big place. Florida is pretty laid back. Places like NYC or LA they work so hard they call just doing your job "quiet quitting". Lol
Also you can get more weeks either by "buying" a week or getting more weeks bc of tenure. At an old job my buddy had 4 weeks and once he took a month off in December and a month off in January lol so after that they made a rule you couldnt do 8 weeks consecutively. So the next time he had enough time to do it he just came in for one day in January lmfao.

I can assure you privatizing the NHS won't work. We have the same situation here in the US--super long wait times in the ER. I've walked out of the ER before because of the wait time (4 hours) and I was ACTIVELY bleeding from the nose and had been for hours before I came. I also have great insurance.
A couple years ago I broke my arm and had to stand there in the waiting room of the emergency room for almost 4 hours whilst bleeding on myself and holding my arm on my chest lmao.
Oooooooh Nigel got the good one! That'll last for YEARS how lucky! :3 Also my small family and I only get to go on "vacation" every two years because when we go... we go to Disney and lets just say that the next trip that I'm planning... it's over $10000...
in regards to london/uk architecture, we don't really get a new 'skyscraper' every year because london has all these tricky planning laws which all the councils need to agree to, and protected sight lines of st paul's etc. And we don't have enough affordable housing because developers want to maximise profit when they build their luxury apartments. Atkinson's 'Alpha Cities' book talks more about this.

The acting part was hilarious 😂
Back in the day, I had an ear infection over a long bank holiday weekend, Just lay in bed for the duration taking Ibuprofen (didn't help). When the doctor's surgery opened up I was beating down the door. Came out with a prescription for Amoxicillin and it was straight round the corner to the pharmacy. Back home and on the tablets and it cleared up, but it was a miserable experience.

Most Americans don't get holidays like we do in the UK, same as nhs they just don't get it, its quite sad
American here. It really is sad. We literally work ourselves into early graves over here.

Haha usually in A&E, the queue is based on more life threatening cases first. Had a friend who fell on his head, and spilled like a whole body puddle of blood, but when he went A&E, they just told me to keep him conscious and don't let him sleep, but still had to wait 3 hours before they stitch him up. Because they simply had more serious cases to attend to first.
Nigel is so funny and I love his laugh as well. It reminds me of the charactor Louis Gossett Jr played as the Drack...

Had to share the part about Mexicans building the pyramids. There are a surprising number of shows about aliens building the pyramids, so much that the historians in Egypt get really annoyed at the mere mention of it.

Roger...Nigel..there are any things Americans can do with Tax Money. Unfortunately it goes to many things it should not. I believe our health care system is better than yours...we don't have to wait as long for health care We have a lot of County Hospitals that take care of people that can't afford it. Right Wing as you call it is for fiscally responsible spending and God and country. I am not sure why you are trying to give it a bad name.
