You know, I think the audiobook of Legendborn might very well have contributed to the fact that you didn't enjoy it as much. I also listened to the audiobook and felt the exact same way as you did, but my mom (who doesn't do audioboooks) read it physically and enjoyed it much more. She didn't think the book was all that angsty, so I suspect that the narrator really just made it feel that way through her performance. Also, don't feel sorry for going to the beach instead of reading, just do what feels good for you! I hope you at least enjoyed your time relaxing and sunbathing ;) Happy reading this week!
Your thoughts on Legendborn are interesting! :) Stick with Dragon Republic for sure because it's a bit more of a traditional fantasy format with the slow build to bigger ending! ;) For storygraph, just make sure none of the books included in your tracking say "missing duration info" it wont count any pages towards your goal if that's the case!
I just finished The Dragon Republic today. I was disappointed because I really enjoyed The Poppy War. Rin was too annoying for me to enjoy the book. I agree with what others have said about the 2nd half of the book being better, but I couldn't bring myself to give it more than 3 stars since I had to suffer through following Rin.
How dare you spend all that time at the beach without a book!!! I have Legendborn but not got to it yet. I feel like it's going to be a series I'll enjoy but probably better if I binge it when all the books are released.
I'm reading Ruin for my team prompt and Dark Age for the Ares prompt. Loving both of them. Also reading The Winter of the Witch for Aphrodite. It is such a great series. 💕
Right now I'm reading reaper of souls sequel to kingdom of souls it's a great fantasy novel by rena barron just finished dune and the great hunt and crescent city and shadow of what was lost yeah I had the same thing with the poppy war trilogy I loved the first book and even though I enjoyed the liked the second book but not as much as I loved the first book ☺️😊😉🤗

I think I do have that setting! Anytime I update the page count it takes away how far I’m behind anyway haha. Dragon Republic definitely picked up!
