Amazing! My Jaccard is almost 20 years old and suddenly the screws came out in the drawer and everything fell apart. My very mechanical friend worked on it for more than a week, on and off, without success. I shared your video and he had it back together and working perfectly in about 6 minutes. We owe you a huge thank you!
I have this exact model - I used it the other night to pound some steaks and then tried to clean it...yeah, pert nigh unto impossible. I thought well maybe google has an answer and sure enough your video came up - thank you so much for posting it, it was very helpful, and your kids are entertaining.
prior to seeing this video, I unscrewed it carefully and the springs flew out, unable to get it together without having a nervous breakdown. Threw it out. Just ordered a new one.
I am leery about putting it in the dishwasher - water will get up inside of it and possibly cause rust as well as creating a wonderful climate for bacteria growth. I stand by my assertion that the best approach to cleaning is to dismantle it.
I’ve cleaned mine there multiple times - however dust and “stuff” does indeed accumulate - probably not something that needs to be taken apart often, IMO, but definitely needed some times.
No matter the quality if these are as a big of a pain as it looks, not worth it I'm returning mine unused. I saw other models that were much easier to dissassemble and clean.
You remove the center screw, push down on The cutting bored and the three blades and the assemble will all come out the top. Wash or put all the pieces in the dishwasher, let dry and reassemble. No reason to remove sides screws and mess with the sping. He made this way more complicated than it needs to be.
@@craigjasin7591 sadly I don’t have mine anymore to verify if that is true. It might be true. I don’t usually miss details like that but I’d be lying if I said that it doesn’t happen sometimes 😢
I'd like to see this video reenacted with the same people 12 years lager, lol.

I was thinking about giving this away, because I could not clean it.
Thanks for the info.
Awesome video!!!
Thanks! I feel confident now 👍 Mine is so old wasn't even sure it was still around. Mine still has patent pending on it!
I just bought a new one and it still has patent pending on it, lol
Pain in the arse to clean thanks.
You should have had your kid hold the camera.

You know it's top rack dishwasher safe....right?

No knife is dishwasher safe, the chemicals and high heat are not good for quality steel
If you just take the centers grew out all the blades and clips will come out the top without flying all over the place 🤦

I don’t have this anymore. Plastic cracked. It lasted 12 years. I will look for a new one that is easier to clean, thanks for the tip!

Did you find a model you like more? If so, what model?
