To be honest Brodie he won’t make the HOF IMPO only because he didn’t take full advantage of his opportunity. I’m not saying he wasn’t great but it’s just he didn’t seem like he wanted it more than most players. I also personally think he should’ve came out H.S but that’s just my take on it🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

D'Antoni had a huge sustain for certain players like Marbury, Melo, Gasol, Howard, and others because he wanted to be the main attraction. In the role of head coach, it will never happen and I tend to think some coaches can have bigger egos than the players.

Starybury looked like the GotDamn video game with his explosive handle moves to the rim and height on his jumper along with a couple highlight assist in long stretches early in games but thru the duration of a competitive game he would start over forcing contested shots, looking off open players going against the grain of the rhythm of the game sometimes.

Marbury is a Legend the guy has a statue of himself in China. Also I believe the movie He Got Game was loosely based on Marbury, also he made a shoe for people in his community that were less fortunate that was extremely affordable which they can wear and play the game of basketball.

What Marbury did was incredible. Let's be honest. Game doesnt need shoes. And 1 was BIG in the game in the early 2000's, now they get sold at Wal Mart. Literally nothing has changed in the production. They're just sneakers. It's about reputation. Steph's kicks made it cool to rock $15 sneakers on the court. It was freaking awesome

I agree 100% El Selector and I also had two pairs of Starbury sneakers plus two pairs of his sweat pants. I really liked Steph but as the video commented, his attitude killed it for him. I believe that one of his problems was that he didn't realize how good he really was. To me, all he had to do was lay back, chill, and do what Allen Iverson did which was listen to Larry Brown. That's one of the reasons why even though AI never one a chip, he is still widely respected by many of today's NBA players and his number is in the rafters. And like the video also commented, yes he won a championship in China but it's not the same as an NBA championship.

Most definitely a legend! Also, forgot to add one most important thing. Yes, he did have a bad attitude but a lot of that also had to do with chemistry. Maybe not with teammates but couches as many have philosophies that don’t match the teams specialties. It’s like sending an electrician to do plumbing work. That in itself was not Starbury’s doing. The other stuff yes.
He should be in the HOF without a doubt. Those that make those decisions would make a grand mistake. Here are the major reasons. First of high school and college career were great and his NBA career was also great just not as great as it should of been. More important than all of these mentioned above is his love and spread of the game over seas. People don’t understand how he is helping the game and helped the game overseas as well as spreading that love! Is ballers know what that means. It means the game is growing even more so as he makes Chinese players believers. The match and fire was already burning there and Strabury was the napalm. This is big credit and a great reason for punching his ticket to the HOF!

Marbury was a strange player. Very talented scoring point guard. But he did not make his teammates better at all. To me, it looked like he was more about himself than the team. As a result, his teams did not win. The Nets were terrible with him. They traded him for Kidd and immediately became contenders with the same core group of players. Kidd was the opposite of Marbury. An extremely unselfish player who got the most out of his teammates. Unlike Marbury, Kidd was a leader for his team. I see Marbury as a HOF talent but not a HOF player. I do give him credit for what he accomplished in China. I believe he matured as a person and deserves respect for all that he achieved in China.

Even AI was a clear cut ROY and had a way!!! better career. Marbury was all "look at my numbers". You need more, way more from a point guard aka a team leader

PERSONNAILITY WISE.I PLAY IN A TOURNAMENT WITH STEPHON WAS THE BEST 13 YEAR OLD IN COUNTY. HE WAS AMAZING BUTI NEVER THOUGHT HE WAS going to be as good as he turn out. I think when his father die. Who was his backbone thing went down for him.And Knicks did him dirty. They blame him for everything. Stephen burst everybody ass.The nba black ball him for no reason. If he would have gotten a fair chance he could have play another six years in league.

Stephon Marbury was a top 5 point guard between the years 1999-2004 but he definitely shouldn't be in the hall of fame. At best his teams made the first round of the playoffs, only made the all star team 2 of 13 seasons, I don't even know if he ever made any all nba teams (maybe 1 time). He was a very talented point guard but he just wasn't as impactful as Tony Parker, Steve Nash or Jason Kidd and even though he was close to the scoring threat of Allen Iverson, he didn't have the playmaking status of the guys I mentioned or the scoring dominance of Iverson Carter McGrady or Kobe Bryant. It would have been interesting to see how his career would have panned out if he stayed in Minnesota because he could have either been one of the top 3 point guards in the league on a top 5/6 team for multiple years or he could have been a guy who averaged at most 20 a game on a team that continued to only make the first round of the playoffs. Nonetheless, he had some memorable years scoring wise on New Jersey and Phoenix and New York but he wasn't ever considered quite a top level name. Like Kenny Anderson, he had a good but certainly not great NBA career.
