I need to look up her recap! Heard it was helpful. I to struggled with the old testament, but as I have grown in the Lord I have discovered that he shows us a ton of grace through all of the stories and they are lessons that we can learn from. I think once you search for grace in those scriptures it will open up a new door of understanding for you!
I applaud your approach. As a Christian, I don't drink the PSA Koolaid, but the message Jesus taught is a wonderful guide for all of us. Too many self righteous Bible Thumpers totally miss the love boat. TY for sharing this video message.

A few years ago I switched to decaf coffee due to terrible migraines I experienced from caffeine withdrawal. I usually only drank one to two cups a day, but even skipping coffee for one day brought on several days of awful pain. After listenning to this episode I've tried out matcha. I'm still in the early days of experimentation, but so far it's delicious and no headaches! The energy is smooth and flowing like Candace explained. Great recommendation!! I don't have a bucket list, but my ultimate wish is to see Israel. But since I have a huge fear of flying, I fear that it will never happen in this life. But there is the hope of the New Jerusalem when the Lord will reign on this earth. Then my fear of flying will be gone 😀 Really enjoyed this podcast. I’m really enjoying this podcast and thank you ladies for starting this podcast. Such great reminders and so encouraging and I like hearing from you both about some of your experiences with God and with your family and how you came to know The Lord. Also I’ve been reading the Bible a lot more the last 3 years, but I’ve never read the Bible all the way through, beginning to end. So I decided I was going to finally and that only lasted a week because I’ve always had a hard time understanding/not getting distracted when reading the Old Testament and then I found this podcast like right when it came out and just last week I decided to try the Bible Recap and so glad I did because this is the first time ever that I’m not too confused or bored when reading the Old Testament and I feel I’ll be able to finish the Bible all the way through with the recap :) So glad that it is helping others too, so thank you Tara for starting the Bible Recap:)

The worst platitude, IMO, is "everything happens for a reason". That's ridiculous, Things happen - we have no control over that. It is our reaction, our response, that we control. If all of our reactions/responses were pre-determined, then there would be no free will and our fate would be written for us. God gives us free will. We do not choose what events may occur, but we do have a choice in how to respond/react. This gives us our opportunity to live our faith - or not. Or is this heresy? Catholics have "penance", in front of a human representative of God, which I always felt was unsettling. I'd rather profess my faith directly to God, not to a fancily decorated man in a dark box. But that's me. Regardless, I believe that God gives us a choice - nothing is "destiny" except God's will. The worlds will end someday. We will all have our judgement day. Maybe the better platitude would be "everything happens for THE reason" - that being giving us an opportunity to live in the faith of God. Am I wrong here?

Such great reminders and so encouraging and I like hearing from you both about some of your experiences with God and with your family and how you came to know The Lord. Also I’ve been reading the Bible a lot more the last 3 years, but I’ve never read the Bible all the way through, beginning to end. So I decided I was going to finally and that only lasted a week because I’ve always had a hard time understanding/not getting distracted when reading the Old Testament and then I found this podcast like right when it came out and just last week I decided to try the Bible Recap and so glad I did because this is the first time ever that I’m not too confused or bored when reading the Old Testament and I feel I’ll be able to finish the Bible all the way through with the recap :) So glad that it is helping others too, so thank you Tara for starting the Bible Recap:)

That's a standard the church now has to get back to that you are not considered a true Christian unless there's evidence of the fruit of the spirit in your life that's a great measuring stick to know that God has changed your heart

The worst platitude, IMO, is "everything happens for a reason". That's ridiculous, Things happen - we have no control over that. It is our reaction, our response, that we control. If all of our reactions/responses were pre-determined, then there would be no free will and our fate would be written for us.
God gives us free will. We do not choose what events may occur, but we do have a choice in how to respond/react. This gives us our opportunity to live our faith - or not. Or is this heresy? Catholics have "penance", in front of a human representative of God, which I always felt was unsettling. I'd rather profess my faith directly to God, not to a fancily decorated man in a dark box. But that's me.
Regardless, I believe that God gives us a choice - nothing is "destiny" except God's will. The worlds will end someday. We will all have our judgement day. Maybe the better platitude would be "everything happens for THE reason" - that being giving us an opportunity to live in the faith of God.
